Solved Challenger, Charger Remote Start Issues

- If remote start doesn't work at all or only works for 10 seconds then stops check these 16 items:
1) Fuel level must be above 1/2 tank
2) Battery should read 12.5v, and more than 10v under load (test, and trickle charge)
3) Check engine light cannot be on
4) Hood, Doors, & Trunk must be closed entirely
5) Check hood latch & hood open sensors
6) Doors must be locked
7) Ensure there is no other key present inside the vehicle
8) Car must be in "Park"
9) Brake switch inactive (brake pedal not pressed)
10) Hazard lights not on
11) Panic button not pushed
12) System not disabled from previous remote start event
13) Vehicle security alarm not active
14) Ignition in OFF position
15) Sometimes the Body Control Module (BCM) can lose connection with the ECU. A dealer can validate and re-establish the connection. This is a software connection, not physical.
16) Faulty or Failing Body Control Module (BCM). Sometimes these have bad solder joints which causes intermittent issues, once the joint fails entirely you'll know it for sure. Cheap solder is the number one cause. Error code U0140 is common, ECU connection to BCM lost. You may also see parasitic battery drain associated. This was the case with my brand new 2023 hellcat.

my doesn’t have the sensor you show at the beginning it’s just a hole 😅 but I have the control with the symbol , I ready check the rest and they fine and I try to search it but I can’t find it any suggestions sr ?
Double check that hole to make sure the sensor didn't fall through into the cavity. If none of my tips helped then a scanner that can read the Body Control Module (BCM) is your next step. Everyone should have their own scanner amzn.to/42aC28y

Why do my car lights blink six times when I try to remote start it? It says nothing on the dash at all im just not sure why it blinks six times?
Should I be concerned about the battery? The Harman Kardon system....in the long run
So far I've had zero issues. The dealer disconnected and reconnected all cables and that solved the issue.
Does the Chrysler 300 have both sensors for hood open code ? I can’t seem to find the one Next to the cabin filter @trickmaster
I’m having a U0416 code and my guy can’t install the aftermarket remote start it’s 6speed as well any advice would be appreciated highly
Your wiring is shorted, or the connectors need to be unplugged and plugged back in to ensure proper connectivity. dot.report/dtc/U0416
You need a wiring diagram to determine the wiring location and pathway
Remote start on a manual requires a neutral position sensor to ensure the car is actually in neutral before attempting the start. Sometimes, this can be accomplished by fooling the computer to think that the clutch is pushed in, when it's really not. They likely sell kits for this, might require a custom ECU mod or flash. If you have any warranty then don't flash because they voids and they have a flash tracking logger.
Mine start and shut down then shows on the dash. Remote start cancelled hood open. but its not any suggestion
There are two hood sensors, one at the latch, and one at the back left near the hydraulic arm. Inspect them for damage, misalignment, corrosion, connectivity.
I did a straight pipe n my auto start won’t work can I just flash the code off n it’ll work again ?

Do not flash because this will void all warranties. Even if you flash back the system logs all activity and they'll void any warranty.

@YNGG.KEV392 exhaust back pressure is important. If idle RPM goes too high, it shuts the engine off on remote start. Sometimes when it's really cold, and I remote start it, the rpm kicks too high and it kills the engine.
Will the dash display if my hood is open or unlatched? I have both of those sensors I just can’t tell if they’re working or not when I press remote start it locks and lights flash but never starts. This is on a 2014 dodge challenger SXT
Get a decent ODB2 scanner on Amazon, one that can read body control module codes (BCM) and see if there are any errors being thrown. This will make short work of troubleshooting. This is a good scanner amzn.to/48QzfVW for a good price that can do it all! You will save hours and headache and skip the high mechanic costs!
What do I do if my key fob does not work at all, not the lock button, unlock button, or remote start

If not the battery in the fob check your fuse box in your trunk there’s one that deals with all of the wireless stuff like that just look at a diagram online to see which one
So, my car remote start works but it shuts off right when I open the door. Is that normal?
Also, I used to be able to open the door without the car shutting off

When you remote start, you cannot unlock the door or trunk using the remote, if you use the remote the car will turn off. This is to prevent accidental unlock when you're not near the car. If you open the door by hand and then it shuts off, this is not normal. Simple solutions first, replace the battery in your remote and try. Disconnect battery for 30 mins, try again. Get a scanner from Amazon that supports BCM (body control module) code reading and reset. See what codes the BCM is throwing. Keep the scanner or return it, your call. The fix could be simple. Also try to open passenger door and see what behavior that produces.
@TrickMasterPC thank you for the quick response. Both batteries are new, car and remote. I forgot to mention, when I bought the car, the delar sent someone to install LoJack. Since then, I believe the problem had started.

Yeah, it will do that as long as the check engine light is on. Get a scanner and determine the problem. Usually, the issues are easy and cheap to fix. Or take it to the dealer if you want.

@minimumday get a decent scanner off amazon. Check your DTC engine codes to see whats faulty. Fix the fault then clear the codes.
@minimumday check all hoses, electrical connectors, gas cap etc. Simple things that could throw an engine code. Otherwise you'll need a scanner
@@TrickMasterPC what’s weird is that the first time it threw the light, it cleared off by itself in like 2 days. Now it came back again after a couple of Months and the light hasn’t shut off for about 2 weeks now. And thanks for the help 💪🏾

No I only have 1 remote
The battery is fresh? Take apart the remote and clean it. Sometimes lint, dirt, moisture gets inside. Simple solutions first

Or not enough gas really , then I started to read the comments ,oh now I get there all dumbass so you can show a nice car and talk nonsense while walking around gas gossler (by the way is my favorite car my wife will not let me drive hers) and you look cool unfortunately,my wife knows I’m not cool and she won’t go for me walking around her car asking her stuff like, Do you have it on the correct radio channel,

Get a good scanner. Scan the body control module codes. If the hood, trunk, door, or window sensors are throwing open or errors, then that will also prevent remote start. If your BCM has a lost comm or connection to ECU error logged, then check the cable connections. Sometimes, intermittent connection drops also cause the issue.
