That's so cool I love these bikes. My very 1st bike was an early 80's TS185 and I recently bought a running 82 model needing a bit of restoring. You can't beat the smell of 2 stroke! Well maybe Elf race fuel in a GP bike maybe!
This is my first experience with them and I am definitely enjoying it! Had never smelled a 2 stroke before but that first fire up had me immediately loving it!
@@nathanadams6648 450 isn't bad at all but thats close to what I paid for the bike so I will probably hold off for the time being and work on other upgrades to get it back into shape. I have the title and it's plated and registered in my name now so I can street ride it after I get a few other safety features figured out.
Beware the crank seals in there are probably shot no matter if its low mileage or not. THose things ALWAYS GO for some reason. I got like 100 miles out of mine before it became a problem and and local vintage thumper mechanic says it always happens
Thank you for the heads up!! Is that something that can cause catastrophic failures or something where it won’t be running to its full potential? Id like to put it off until I have a garage to fully tear it apart in but I could make the parking lot work if need be 🤣
What a great old bike
I am super stoked to have some fun with it!

I got the vape ignition upgrade for
Mine. It makes the electronics new. No more 53 year old wires.
Man I want to do that so bad. What was the total cost?
@@LifeOutdoors 450
@@LifeOutdoors got better spark and lights in 12 volts. Mine is street legal. So blinkers were important.

@@nathanadams6648 does yours sound similar to mine running? I dont have much a reference for what a 2 stroke should be sounding like

Wrong gear to start it?
oh yeah haha multiple times too 🤣
@@LifeOutdoors I think I misunderstood what you were saying.. I thought you said you have to have it in a specific gear to kick it over and start it.
Oh I see, yes you have to be in neutral to kick it over and I kept jumping into 2nd or 3rd without realizing it.
