    YES... you mentioned the Suzuki Across too, another 250cc 4-cylinder. The engineering of these zingers is superb. You might not think you're an expert now, but after getting these going you sure well be! Great project, great fun.

      Thanks mate, I do agree the engineering that went into each one of the 250cc 4cyl bike is incredible.

      Hopefully won't be a long build series on the green machine. I want to get her done and registered as soon as possible to make good use of the weather

    Great video mate. Looks like a fun project. I really do envy your ability to keep acquiring more projects... my missus said she will kick me out if i get any more toys 😂😂

      Thanks mate, lol I'm not sure if my lack of impulse control is something to be envious about. I'm very lucky to have a very understanding Mrs, she hates me riding bikes though so not entirely sure how I keep getting away with buying more.

    I had the Yamaha FZ250 Fazer. Fun and scary little beast. And many many moons ago I also owned a Kawasaki S1 250 2 stroke triple

      @HarpersShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to own one of each 250cc 4cyl but the other manufacturers brands don't seem a common in Australia. Especially the Yamaha variant.

      @@HarpersShed so would I but due to physical limitations these days riding motorcycles is beyond me now

    OHHHHHHHHHHHH Tim..... what a treat the 250's are. Do the plugs as well and check the leads too mate. If you really want psycho then go for a 70's Kawasaki 250 triple....straight line is great but ya can't turn the little buggahs. hahaha

      @HarpersShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, I would love to own one of the Kawasaki triples from back then. Unfortunately way too far out of my budget these days.

    Hi Tim, at 20,000 RPM riding it on a long distance is like hanging onto a chainsaw for hours. Hands only fall off LOL Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 . We’re on the big island 🏝️

    • @HarpersShed
      @HarpersShed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'day Cliff, don't disagree mate they're certainly not made as long distance rides that's for sure. I did however take my Suzuki 250 for a few 3+ hour rides while I owned it, I was a bit younger and dumber back then also. They are more of a close to home flog up the winding roads sort of bike and we have some fantastic bike country nice and local to me.

    Hi Tim, here in the UK up to around 1981 you could ride up to 250cc, then it was dropped to 125. My first 4 cylinder bike was the Honda CB400 FOUR (came out 1975-77), I had it 1980-83, a lovely little bike that loved the twisties.

      In NSW where I live the learner bikes are approved on a power to weight ratio with a maximum of 650cc if you can believe it. Some of the bike that learner are allowed to ride are ridiculous in my opinion.

    I grabbed myself one for 500 back in June. Got it running. Hadn’t been running in 20 years. Haven’t done much since everything else is fucked on it. Extremely rare where I am. They’re worth about 8000 here

    • @HarpersShed
      @HarpersShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      $500 seems like a bargain mate. I have found most parts are still available on the internet but not overly cheap. Well worth the investment though if they bring that sort of money in your location.
      Good luck with the rebuild 👍🏍️

    G'day mate just found your channel and looking forward to seeing what you do with these 2 bikes . I had one as a apprentice in the early 90s . Just bought one to get back on the road. Take care mate cheers from South Australia

      Hi mate glad you found the channel, have a look around there is heaps here to watch and also a 2nd channel that's dedicated to the boat if you're interested.
      I have done some work for the following video on the green bike and unfortunately it isn't going to be good news for the engine but hay makes for more videos for everyone 👍. Hopefully winter is coming to an end for you guys down south.

    Sounds great! Hard to believe it's a 250! Probably a little on the small side for riding any sort of distance, but it'll be a lot of fun

    • @HarpersShed
      @HarpersShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not exactly a long distance cruiser that's for sure. Thankfully we have some of the best twisting roads very close to home

    I thought it was a jet engine when I saw flames coming out the exhaust & you hadn’t turned the after burner on 😁. I’m sure there’s a good market for these. Maybe I’ll get you to attach one of these to my embroidery machine. I need better than 390 stitches a minute. 😳❤️🙏

    • @HarpersShed
      @HarpersShed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol I think the flames were more from the left over fuel in the exhaust that hadn't burnt out yet. I bet it would make a big difference to you machine, although fuel consumption could be an issue 👍

    All you mate all you. I have tested newton’s theory one too many times. Son has 750 and his mate has 1000 wheelie in all gears.

      Don't get me wrong I love the power of a big bike mate but in the tight stuff 200hp is almost useless to a mere mortal like me .
