For your information, MacEwan University does NOT have an accelerated nursing program. You are either doing the bachelor of nursing science program which is 4 years, or psych nursing diploma or bachelor. Please double-check your information.

Truly no offense intended (MacEwan used to have an accelerated program. I guess they've discontinued it since the info was last posted online). All the best

hi I attained my BSc in 2007 which is more than 5 years but I have been teaching secondary Biology for ten years. would I qualify for Accelerated BScN or I should just think of a 4 year program

Hi there , u said in previous video that cbu nova scotia offers bsn for international students but it doesnt . And i dont seem to find out about brandon university too
Someone has pointed that out to me that CBU doesn’t admit International students unless they have permanent residency status. This is an error on my part and I have made note to not include CBU on any video about nursing for international students in any future videos.

With a diploma in nursing, you can take a bridging program that will allow you to take the board exams to become licensed in Canada, although I’m not entirely certain on how it’s done

You can use a BSc in any course to gain admission into accelerated nursing. You just have to back it up with science prerequisites like I mentioned in the video

You can take prerequisites and get into nursing even if it’s a 2 year college to get a licensed practical nursing degree.

Universities and colleges offer the prerequisites . You can take them under open studies

You may have to take science prerequisites like biology, chemistry, English, Math, physics, anatomy, physiology, if you don’t already have them

Yes, but you will need to upgrade some courses and take health science prerequisites before applying to nursing school

You can apply to study nursing from scratch with your secondary school result or certificate. This video on accelerated nursing is specifically meant for those who want to switch career to nursing.

No… because the nursing program comes with clinical rotations in hospital sites which you have to be physically present to attend. Also, most schools have shifted from online back to in-person classes. So no, you cannot study a nursing program through distance learning.
I didn't see in Saskatchewan University website where they stated that only people who graduated 4 - 5 years ago have better chances of getting admission. Am asking because I graduated over 10 years ago.

@@amakaclaire8539 it’s not me who thinks so. It’s not my idea. It is what is usually stated in different schools’ websites. For many schools in Canada, if you already have a degree and you’re going back to study for another degree AND you want to transfer courses, they will require that the gap between your previous degree and the current program you want to get into should not be more than 5 years. SOME nursing schools in Canada and US are like this. If you’re certain you didn’t see such stipulations in the University of Saskatchewan website, then maybe they probably don’t consider that. So you can go ahead and apply to the school.

Waec is widely recognized by many Canadian Universities from Nigerian applicants. It’s stated under the country requirements of many schools.

No it’s not. Accelerated nursing is a BSc degree. Practical nursing is a diploma degree.

You cannot use diploma nursing to apply for accelerated nursing program but you can use it to apply for either a regular 4-year bachelors in nursing or 2-year diploma in practical nursing.

No. Accelerated Bachelors in Nursing is a Bachelors degree. You cannot do accelerated nursing for Masters degree. If you’re doing accelerated nursing you will get a bachelors degree at the end of the program.
Does university of Regina have an accurate nursing program ?
I’m not entirely sure. But they should have a regular nursing program.

Maths is required in nursing for drug calculations and other aspects of nursing. Yes you can learn it
