- How to Convert MBR to GPT During Windows 10/8/7 Installation.
Sometimes, when you are trying to install Windows on your PC, "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI system, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks" error message pops up and interrupts the installing process. Please note the conversion process will format/clean the drive as shown in the tutorial.
In this case, you are required to convert MBR to GPT to get the problem fixed. But how can you make it during Windows installation?

@_royal_aghori_ I can't say for sure but I think it has the same process so it might work, record everything so if you need to take it to a repair shop they have an idea of what you did

I love tech , i built my PC 5 yrs ago and today after my last BIOS update , my booting started acting up . I cleaned my M.2 ssd and when i tried to install windows after activating Secure Boot in Bios ,it said that windows on EFI can't be installed on an MBR partition .. and i was like daaaamn , and then sir , i found your video ! When we mark our drive d or any other driver as active and when you restart your computer it shows orange screen or says "an operating system wasn't found". How can we fix it without getting a bootable pendrive and re-installing windows.
@@Ace-wo6ur just go to your boot screen and set the drive(where you have installed OS) as a default bootable drive.. That's all

Watching this video in 2023. And holy hell you deserve a god damn award. I converted my 0 disk from a mbr to a gtp on my desktop which in turn caused me not to be able to launch windows again. Had get a usb to download the windows installer. But the fact that you showed us how to convert a Mbr to a gtp in such a quick, easy and efficient manner is amazing. No other video has come close to this one. Thank you very much.
Still works in 2024, trying to replace an old laptop hard drive with a newer one and ran into this issue.

I had 3 drives that were MBR and I decided to clean all of them from the windows installation screen and start from scratch and reinstall windows on a new m.2 I got. This video helped me immensely. Converted all my MBR drives and it all worked out thanks to you!

Thanks for your help. Just to add, I have an old Dell and had to actually hit the FN + SHIFT + F10 to get it to open, and also needed to change from GPT to MBR and your tutorial worked for that as well.

NOTE: this works great but do not run the "clean" command if you have other partitions in the disk, because it will wipe everything. Make sure you always back up your data.
