It was my third colonoscopy and I was the same before looking for videos how was it done. So that’s why I made this and thankfully it’s helping even for a little bit. I never see anybody warn other people about the aftermath of this dual procedure and I'm talking about right afterwards in the recovery room. I'll just say this in order for them to get good pictures they pump you up with air. Well that air has to go somewhere and I don't know about anyone else but I wasn't warned about it and I was not the only one in the recovery room. Embarrassing to say the least. I couldn't stop passing gas and all my husband could say was "that's my girl" Funny story in hindsight horrifying at the time.

Thank you soooo much for this video! I have to schedule colonoscopy and endoscopy in the next few weeks, and I really wanted to know how the Sutab prep was. I'm 66 and this will be my first time getting both procedures, so I'm really anxious. I feel much better after watching this. I think one of the biggest take aways from your video is how you kept yourself calm and relaxed. And knowing what you had to eat/drink is a big help so I can have everything on hand to have choices in case one thing isn't good I can just try something else.
Also, thanks for the extra info on your endoscopy results. Good to know about the yogurt even if I am prescribed antibiotics. Wish you all the best, and thank you so much!

Thanks for this video it helped me a lot. I just had my first colonoscopy and 2nd endoscopy today. Even-though I used wipes I still was raw back there. Also the 2nd set of tabs made me sick, so definitely may need a trash bag by your bed. I was going up til they put the IV in for procedure but the nurse said that was normal. Also I had to eat light after the procedure and then she said that night I can go for the gusto. I’m so glad it’s over and done with. Good luck to everyone else who has to go through this process🤎

I’ve heard if you take a bit longer to take the tablets - like wait a few sips before taking another - can help reduce the chance of stomach issues. I did mine really quickly - under 10 minutes - so I’m gonna take my time taking the tablets tomorrow morning for the 2nd dose.

Hi. Great Video. I am 68, I live in Australia and this week just had my 3rd Colonoscopy. Many years ago I also had an endoscopy. In Australia they get you to take 3 Satches of Picosalax which you take 2 hours apart. Different product but the end result is the same. My first colonoscopy found I had Polyps which they removed during the procedure, then tests 5 years apart. I got my all-clear results for this test on the same day and feel really good about getting it done, as its one less thing to think about. I know I am good for the next 5 years! If its suggested to you, or see differences in your body, get the test done. It doesn't hurt, you dont know whats taking place and Its well worth it.

    • @SuperLittleTyke
      @SuperLittleTyke ปีที่แล้ว +1

I was actually really p*ssed off, because they found a polyp in the transverse colon, but didn't remove it because they said I hadn't stopped taking my blood thinner (Edoxaban) soon enough. This was totally contrary to the pre-procedure advice I was given, both verbally and in writing, to stop it one day before. Instead, the endoscopist placed a marker tattoo on the polyp and I'll probably have to go in again in one or two weeks' time, depending on the results of the biopsies.

Thank you for this video. To be honest I was having extreme anxiety as to what to expect w/this prep, especially because I have IBS & get very sick & painful cramping from it. So far I've finished the 1st bottle of pills & no pain & I was basically worrying for nothing. This prep is a piece of cake. My dr did recommend taking 2 Gas-X Extreme b4 beginning the 1st bottle & taking an additional 3 more Gas-X Extreme when beginning the 2nd bottle & I feel that definitely helped too.. Watching your video truly helped calm my nerves so THANK YOU!! ❤️

  • @jazzguy68

I started Sutab yesterday at 4:30 pm. Cut the water about 50% with diet 7 up which made it much easier to swallow the pills quickly. First bowel movement 50 minutes after last tab. Went about 7 times over around 4 hours. Used a shower hose on the bottom after each movement and then put some rolled up toilet paper in my rear to keep underpants from possibly soiling. Had no issues. Sleep well - and only got up middle of the night to pee.
Started second dose at 6:30 am. Pills went down easily with my diet 7 up mix. Had first movement about 50 minutes later.
Procedure is at 3 pm today. Taking Uber to the surgery center - wife picking me up at 4:30 pm. Prefer afternoon procedures since I did not want to having movements that would disrupt sleep.
Chicken broth yesterday kept hunger pangs away. Looking forward to a small pizza for dinner tonight - although I am not hungry now.

The secret to prepping is to start eating a very light, bland diet four or five days before the procedure. Scrambled eggs, white fish cooked in the microwave, white toast etc. Then the prep doesn't have so much cr*p to get rid of. Then, after the colonoscopy, you can soon build up your protein and carb intake again.

I had a combined gastroscopy and colonoscopy last Friday and the gastroscopy was way worse than the colonoscopy, in terms of discomfort. And I had stomach discomfort for three days afterwards. Admittedly, the colonoscopy was no fun either, but better tolerated, except when the 'scope has to bend around to navigate the transverse colon. This is three times now that I've had both procedures, though the two gastroscopies earlier were 30 years ago when I could probably tolerate the procedure much easier.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I just finished my 2nd dose of Sutab around 4:30 am. I am set to have a colonoscopy this morning at 11:30. I just turned 60 and this is my 2nd colonoscopy. Not sure the Sutab is any easier than the movi prep which I had taken for my first colonoscopy 10 years ago. Somewhat anxious about going in as I have a new doctor this time. I hope they put me out for the procedure. Also have had stomach issues for the last 20 years and have been on omeprazole for 10 years. Doctor switched me to Pantoprazole which seems to work well for me and my acid reflux. Hopefully your stomach issues will resolve soon!

My husband and I are getting ready for our tests and he goes in tomorrow, I will inquire about Sutab and see if I can take them for my test, thanks for the video. It did make me feel better and I will try and stay relaxed. Good suggestions. With regard to Heliobacter Pylori, if that is what you were diagnosed with from the endoscopy, I had it 30 years ago and I did take the antibiotics and the omeprazole and it worked! I had stomach problems for a couple of years before that and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Once they diagnosed and treated it, I haven't had stomach issues since. If that is what you have, they can test for it with a stool sample at your follow up. If the yogurt works, that would be great! If not, hopefully they can find an antibiotic that works for you. Look forward to your update.

I wish my colonoscopy had gone as well the first time.
I needed the colonoscopy because of severe constipation and big-time rectal bleeding. Every time I went to the toilet, the toilet bowl got red with my blood. Blood tests showed my blood count was dropping from the blood loss.
The first time, they gave me Dulcolax, which didn't work at all. So they canceled my colonoscopy.
The second time, they gave me Gavilyte G, dissolved in two quarts of water, all of which I had to drink. With a chaser of MiraLAX too. But this combination really worked.
I couldn't take the pain of the procedure, so they gave me general anesthesia. But it didn't wear off right away, so I was groggy for hours afterward.
