- Andrew flower is a Zimbabwean cricket coach and former cricketer who was born on the 28th of April 1968.
Nicknamed Petals, Flower power, the left handed atsman played for Zimbabwe between 1992-2003 and made his Test debut on the 18th of October 1992 vs India with his last Test coming on the 16th of November 2002 vs Pakistan.
His One Day International was against Sri Lanka on the 23rd of February 1992 and his last was on the 15th of March 2003 vs Sri Lanka.
Flower was Zimbabweas wicket keeper for more than 10years and is Statistically the greatest batsman the country has produced.
During his peak, from October to December 2001,Flower was ranked as the best Test batsman in the world and was widely acknowledged as the only Zimbabwean batsman of proper test quality in any conditions.
Flower is widely considered to be Zimbabwe's est player of all time with his 4 794 test runs at 51.54 including a match saving unbeaten 232 against India in 2000,the highest ever test score posted by a wicketneeper batsman in an innings of a test.
His international career ended during the 2003 World Cup where, together with team-mate Henry Olonga, he wore a. Lack armband in protest at what the pair said was "the death of democracy in Zimbabwe.
Flower also played for English County side Essex and later became coach of the England men's side that reached the top of the ICC's Test Rankings in 2011 and also won the 2010 T20 title. He stepped down as head coach on the 31th January 2014,a position he had held for Five years.
On June 13 2021,Flower made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean cricket player to be inducted into the Cricket Hall of Fame class of 2021
Currently, he is working as the head coach of the Multan Sultans and he led them to win the PSL 2021 title.
