It's been 20 years since I was in New York. This line, along with the A, was my family's main way of getting around the city. Whenever I went out with my father on weekends, this was the train we took. Even after all these years I still have something of an emotional attachment to this route. Thanks for the video.
One of the two godly Red Rockets! There’s nothing else that can ever beat those particular godly Red Rockets along 7th Avenue / Broadway and Eastern Parkway 💯💙
I used to ride in the first car to get a great view of this line. At the time almost every station From New Lots to when it goes underground was a visual display like no other.. Burned out buildings on the right, open lots to the left, and occasional tenement or slum building still being lived in. Quite an adventure. There is no video/film of this line back then. Ive looked.

I noticed that huge black mark on the wall of the northbound track at 110th st., I'm guessing that's from that arson incident on the 2 train last year!!!
I’m back to this video to say that downtown trains are running local in Manhattan this weekend and no one recorded a full ride via local. So I’ll be the first one to do it.
R62 (3) train (Saratoga Av to Utica Av) R142 (4) train (Utica Av to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr) And finally R68 (D) train (Atlantic Av-Barclays Center to 42nd St-Bryant Pk) Those were the trains i took

Legend has it that the R62s are faster than the R62As. Just like the R142As are faster than the R142s.

Yes they are by a long shot!!
@The Transit Traveler experienced it and the (6) and is slow with R62As but put ntts on the line and it'll be faster.
