I have to be honest, I wasn't feeling Nahko when I first heard him, I respected him fully as a fellow musician and lyricist, but for reasons now known to me I wasn't resonating. One of the last memories I have of one of my best friends before he was brutally murdered is him sending me a drunk video singing this song.
