Remember growing up as a kid in Brooklyn and watching this show every Saturday on pbs . I love this and the whole cast . My mom met the actress who played Sandy and told me she was very sweet and kind . Such an awesome show can’t wait to order my dvd collection and watch again ❤️
Absolutely love this show. It hits all the right cords. It's funny, it's sad, it's dramatic, it's relatable. People can see themselves in similar roles and situations. It's tugs on the heart strings. I can watch it with my 23 year old son, or my 85 years grandmother. Everyone gets something out of it. It was very sad when Geoffrey passed away. I have watched the entire series multiple times, and will continue to do so, with the same enjoyment of it's first season. The grandmother has gone now, but I think of her every time I watch a re-run, as she also got so much enjoyment from it.

I’m so, so, SO happy that PBS in the US carries this series on a regular basis!! I’ve seen it since it was on air, watch every re-run I can find. Was extremely magical in a non-flamboyant way…pure perfection!!! Thank you everyone involved for bringing such a beautiful show to life!!

It remains the greatest multi-watchable series written. I think that those who enjoyed this series felt that they were there and definitely would like their lives to reflect any of the characters and to belong in that environment. I have lost count of the times I have watched the whole series. It never fails to please and entertain. A genuine delight, with wonderful characters played by talented actors.
If you enjoy a quality gentle comedy try Detectorists. The language is as clean as As Time Goes By but it’s never mean or crude at all. Well worth the watch 😊
I'm probably a member of a younger audience than this show was made for but I loved this show. Every member of the cast was perfect for the role. As an Australian I love British TV.
As Time Goes By remains my absolute favourite comedy series from the BBC. Gentle storyline, humour, a story about finding love (again) late in life. Nothing has bettered it
All of them loveable characters. My adult children also fans. I looked forward to it every week. A little disappointed that I had a week before I got to see more. On occasion I’ll pull the dvd out to binge watch. I still love it. Thank you cast and crew for a love that continues. Rock on! 💙❤️💚🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
What I love so much about the show is it’s a nice quiet comedy with well written natural humor. It does not have a 30 minutes of a cheesy laugh track and one liner after another. They all felt like real people that you have known for years. It’s very cozy and safe when you need it.
It was the characters that made this show. They are so relatable. I would watch these with my mum and dad and they would nudge each other and say, “that’s you”. That’s what made them so funny.
“Gentle comedy” is exactly why so many of us love this show. I have all the dvds and still pay for Brit Box to get this and Keeping Up Appearances, Are you being served? and Absolutely Fabulous. This show is something I can fall asleep to, listen to while I’m doing chores, or watch while I’m having my lunch. I never grow tired of the episodes.
Still love watching this.. I’ve watched it so many times. I can’t think of nothing better than making a coffee and sitting down to watch this. Was in London once with my family down from Newcastle and we went for a walk around Holland Park .. It was lovely.. R.I.P Mr Palmer..

They were ecstatic to find one another again, married and remained steadfastly devoted to one another for the remainder of their lives. So, don't think for a moment that the premise for As Time Goes By couldn't happen in real life!
A superb show in every sense. We have the box set, and re-watch it regularly. It’s just as funny and clever and warm on the 10th time through. Perfect cast, perfect writing.

Always looked at as romance with humor thrown in, and as far as Lionel character hoes he was in Kenya during The Mau Mau uprising and it was bloody and him being an officer he would have been in involved in the suppression of it That’s the feeling I get when he talks about shooting his dog, a lot of darkness he went thru with no one to share it with

I do know there aren't any writers like they had when this was written. Lionel actually he was my favorite next to Dame Dench. When I heard he was gone I got really 😔. This was one of the sitcoms (I think it's more than that, more like a look in the life of a typical British family) you enjoyed taking time for, sit down and relax and enjoy the talent of actors like Geoffrey Palmer and not in the least Judy Dench (I'm a big fan of her).... two more actors I would have loved to have been able to see live on stage...

One of the worst sitcoms ever produced. I love Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer but unfortunately this series is badly acted, badly cast and bad storylines that made no sense. So you have the two main characters both of whom I love but as far as the rest are concerned rest quite sad how bad they are.
