How about an update on your grape vines?

Whoa! That's a beautiful piece of functional architecture, and to think, in just a few years you're going to get an explosion of grapes! I've seen it happen. Amazing robust plant
You probably have done your research, but grapes LOVE being pruned back heavily at the end of season, they can really shoot back excessively come spring! Stimulates root growth.
With all that sun down there I suspect yours will move quite fast :)

Thanks. Yeah I spent hours researching grapes. Probably more research than Ive done on any other plant. Can be very confusing because of how many different ways there are to do things.

@@theorangetreehomestead6660 There's a merlot vine growing from a wetland near my childhood house. It's climbed up a cedar tree about 50 feet in the air! Half the tree is all vine during summer.
Incredible plants, I've also seen a really cool porch arbor gazebo thing with TONS of grapes growing all across like a roof. Really cool. So I bet yours will do excellent, looks like a great sunny spot. :)

@@ForageGardener Tons of sun in this spot. The little bit of elevation allows it to get more afternoon sun than most of the property.

@@theorangetreehomestead6660 excellent! The fruit will like that I hear evening sun is best for ripening :)
We gotta get a drone shot of your place sometime! Are rental drone camera pilots a thing?!? xD

@@ForageGardener Drone vid is definitely on my list. Waiting for the orchard to get fully awake first. I'm gonna ask around cause I think I have a friend with one.

I'm building a grape arbor like this in North Dakota. I'm curious how you plan to keep the grass down between the plants.

With a weedwhacker. At least for now, dont have a long term plan yet. The grass is seasonal here it dies in the spring and comes back when it rains in late fall.
