    Here's a link to the video I mentioned of how we also built the fence around the garden area: th-cam.com/video/6tvqCw14iQc/w-d-xo.html

    Thank you so much for leading with your zone and region, it is so important for viewers to know this when adapting the plans

      Absolutely! I completely agree - knowing the zone and location is essential.

    I built a similar arbor for my kiwi plant. Since I forgot what type it was, I grafted six additional types of kiwi plants onto it (male and female) to ensure pollination. You can also graft grapevines so you have a few different types of varieties that are ready at different times of the year. Instead of paint, I used a wood stain on my arbor. The stain is in a solid color which looks like paint. The reason I used stain instead of paint was that it does no crack or chip off. I would not want to try to repaint with a vine covering the arbor. Your arbor looks great. I used a dark green stain, but I really like your black color. I even stained my wood raised beds. They look great but I have decided to switch to metal raised beds They will last much longer.

      I would love to grow Kiwi - there's a Kiwi test garden in my city for some cold-hardy varieties, so I may try it soon. That's a good idea about grafting different types of grapevines.

    I bought 2 grape vines that I need a good spot for in my garden. This is a perfect solution. Thanks for posting. 😊

    It’s beautiful! What a great job you all did! Now I want to build one, too. And I don’t grow grapes. It would just be pretty at the front of the garden, maybe for cucumbers or vining squash!

      Ooh I think this would be perfect for vining veggies. Or flowers. Or both!

    Perfect....Yard/Garden look amazing. I was impressed with the quality and condition of the tools that were available for this unexpected/spontaneous project. You certainly have massive potential for a stunning Yard. Thanks for the tips.

      Yeah it helps that my husband is a woodworker and has all the great tools. Thanks so much!

    Thank you for this! My husband bought two grapevines during our southern hemisphere winter last year, and they’re still sitting in the larger pots that I re-potted them into. Since then, they have been struggling in our unusually hot (cool climate) heat. They need to get into the ground asap, so your video has given me the impetus to get our planned arbour up and running. I am super interested in the video you are proposing to make on how to plant and care for your vine. Can’t wait! Location for vines is another topic I hope you’ll touch on, albeit that we live in differing climate zones. Ours, in this far south-eastern corner of Victoria AU, leans more towards warm temperate than the real cool climate of the Alpine region behind us, as we’re more coastal in location. I think they describe ours as a ‘micro climate’, which is great. Looking forward to your next vid. I am thrilled to be here, and thankful that I found your channel. 🤗🙏

      What kind of grapevines do you have? I'm planning to do all sorts of videos on caring for the grapevine throughout the season, and I'd like to plant one more. The Razzmatazz is actually a hybrid vinifera-muscadine, so it grows a little differently than a standard table grape.
      Happy to have you here!

    It looks beautiful. I think you should've gone 10 feet high because grape bunches hang longgggg.

      lol yeah you may be right. Unfortunately, 12-foot posts wouldn't fit in our car! So I'll just duck this summer.

    Thanks for showcasing! I live in the DFW area and will follow since we're in the same zone. Did you paint your remesh to prevent rust, and where can I find RazzMatazz? My grapes are suffering from the heat and I need some heat tolerant ones. Thank you!

    How long did it take?

    • @TheFruitGrove
      @TheFruitGrove  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It took us a lot longer to plan it than to build it. The actual building and installing took place over a single weekend. Then I painted it and planted the grapevine the next week.
