AMAZING!!! As a mom of 7 (now all grown), I shared some of these same values, I only wished I did more! We never celebrated Halloween, We never did sleepovers, We had a strict rule of no crazy play, hands to ourselves, and quiet time before bed. Just to mention a few.
By the way, I am seriously impressed with the young women, like yourself, creating channels which inspire woman to be homemakers. When I would tell people I was a homemaker (you know...back when the wheel was invented), people would look at me (especially other women) like I had just grown a third eye or something. They instantly assumed I was lazy and stupid. Would it have helped if they knew I graduated high school with a 4.0 and college with a 3.8? Probably not, because then they would have considered it a waste of my abilities. My husband and I have never regretted our decision to have me take up my job as homemaker to raise our children. Even though our children are adults now, my husband still loves me being a homemaker and a homesteader. I also have a wood shop on our property. I guess that business degree came in handy after all!😁
@victoriabec, I’m in the same category as you. My “babies” are 42 and 46 now. I really intended to return to work as a medical laboratory scientist after my first baby was born. Even though I myself am from a large family, I was unprepared for the intense love and bonding I felt with my children. I knew that any competent scientist could replace me in the lab, but, in my home I was unreplaceable. And no, we were not wealthy. My husband and I had similar standards to those expressed in this video and even 40+ years ago it was very hard going against the grain. I can’t imagine how hard it must be now with the incredible array of distractions outside our homes. I don’t regret the choices we made at all. We all have to make the best choices for our families.
@@susanfreeman6350 I'm so very happy for you and your family! I am now a grandma of 7 and I have not had one single day of regret about staying at home with my children. I thank God for the opportunity! I am still at home since my husband and I have a homestead and I have a woodshop. God is still providing!
Honey….. don’t ever change your ideals!!!! You and your hubby surely are doing the right thing!! I’m impressed by your standards in this day and age we’re living in today!! You will raise much better and stronger children because of it…& please don’t change when they get older and give you grief over your decisions!!! Children don’t always know what’s best for them! You’re the parent! I raised 2 wonderful children who are now raising a family of their own.and they didn’t suffer one bit by how they were raised… it only caused them to use the same guidelines that we used! You’re doing the right thing… no matter how many critical comments you may get. Basically they’re just not strong enough to have them for themselves…. Or only 1 parent is on the wagon… so honey you are blessed!! Keep going…🤩😍❤️👍
Thank you for being a godly mother. Raising up arrows to go into the world with strong values and the fear of the Lord. We need much more of that! I’m an empty nester, my boys are grown and out of the house. I stay away from all of the things you mentioned in your video. We are called to be set apart, honoring The Lord how we live our lives. 🙌 Thank you!
I wish it were easier to find channels without all the weird religious aspects. Christianity has not done good for America and I wish there were more channels without this indoctrination
As a Muslim woman, I 100% agree with all your house rules and would do much the same with my husband, if we are blessed with children. Praying for children soon. May God guide you to the straight path.
I just found your channel. What a joy to watch. I am 65, mother of 6 grown children that we homeschooled for 26 years. We also adopted every one of your "rules" and more! We were mocked, talked about and laughed at by a number of well meaning family members and even some more "enlightened" friends. As I am well on the other side of this journey, let me say-what a wonderful moment it is to get the phone call from your grown child with children of their own navigating the waters of Godly parenting and hearing, "thank you for not compromising when it was hard-thank you for always wanting to put Jesus first. This is really hard." You will have no regrets as you hold a high standard for your children. The only regrets I have are those times when I violated my own conscience. You are doing great!
Congratulations to the parents who raised you to become such a real person in this crazy " polluted " world . Your children are lucky to have such parents to raise them ...just everything from food to communication...all is so good
We agree with all of these! My husband and I have 5 daughters, all grown now. One thing we never did is tell our children there was a santa claus. We felt this was completely taking away from the real meaning of Christmas. We told our children that their gifts were from Jesus. When they were old enough to understand, we told them how God had given daddy the ability to do his job, which earned a paycheck, which purchased their gifts. Our girls were absolutely amazed that Jesus would give them a gift on his birthday. Now, they realize the most important gift Jesus gave them...eternal life! Keep in mind, the same kids who will tell your children there is no santa claus and where babies come from, are the same kids who will tell your children there is no God. If we had told them there was a santa claus, which they could see at the local mall then found out he wasn't real, why would they believe in God, which they can not see? We decorated a tree because we were having a birthday party for Jesus...which included a birthday cake. Our children NEVER felt they were missing out. In fact, they can go to God anytime, day or night! They don't have to wait until Christmas to think someone cares.
We didn’t push the Santa Claus thing either. I felt it was lying to our children. It made me sad Santa got all the credit for the toys and money we spent when we worked hard to pay for it. I know I was devastated when I found out there was no Santa. Christmas was never the same after that.
I love this. Telling kids Santa is real, is lying wrapped in a little bow to make it look ok. And you are exactly right, why should they believe us about Jesus is we're gonna lie to them about Santa.
@@deannalebaron8690 I never really talked much about Santa either way. It helped that my kids went to a Jewish preschool so there wasn't any mention of it lol I remember I found out that there was no Santa by a nun in my Catholic school in 3rd grade. I was so disappointed.
Another misconception, when Jesus was born. He was thirty- three and a half when he died in the spring,so do the math, you won’t arrive at December 25. ( the pagans were already celebrating the birth of the sun on December 25). With all the emphasis on mindfulness, try researching the origins of all of the holidays in this country, start with one encyclopedia, eye opening!
I LOVE your videos! I’m pregnant with my first child and my husband and I are both Christians. We actually found out we were pregnant on the morning of our baptism 🥰 totally agree with #15! I feel so blessed to have found your videos and look forward to watching more and getting ideas for home making and being a house wife and mother!
Thank you for sharing 🙏 I thought we were old fashioned but it is so refreshing and encouraging to see young family like yours with Godly morals and upbringing 🙏 We have been married for 27 years, God has blessed us with 8 children and we started our life without a tv... No Disney, no movies, no video games, no sleep overs, etc . Now, our older children, who are out of college tell us thank you for spending time with them and teaching them how to live according to Gods word as well as being an example to them. It humbles me every time they tell us that and it gives me more energy to raise the little ones without giving in to wordly ways... God bless you and your family 🙏
I admire that you not only shared what your family doesn’t do but that you shared why you don’t do that. As a child, I struggled with the “don’t do that” without that explanation of why we don’t do that. You’re doing a great job guarding your children from this fallen world, mama! 🤍
I think about 98% of what u said is how i grew up/still belive in and practice with my children. We grew up known as a "strict" family but now that im a mom i value so so much all the my parents taught me and now teach it to my own children😊💕
Good job, Momma! You're doing so awesome and we do things very similarly in our home! I have a vivid memory of things I shouldn't have watched as a child. Protecting our children's purity is our number one job.
Thank you for the courage to post this video. I pray that this video reaches as many mothers as possible and that their hearts and ears are opening to hear your message. And hopefully they’ll take it as it is meant. Helpful advice to navigate these modern waters of raising children instead of a message of judgment. We’ll done! 💗🙏🏻
Yes, heavy ending but so important too. Thank you for all of these! We don't do most of these as well and so it was really encouraging to watch this! Your family is standing up for what is good for your children and personal family function, not what is popular or cultural. Somethings we don't do... We don't get up at a specific time in the morning. I have Adrenal Fatigue and sometimes need to rest more and sometimes my kids do too. So I don't wake them up unless we need to go or do something time sensitive. And we usually have later mornings but it works for us and our young children. We don't allow our kids to use public bathrooms by themselves. Better safe than sorry... my heart breaks for the many hurt children. We don't always have dessert after a meal or even once a day. Juice or fruits really help give the body that sweetness it needs if we feel we want it. We don't buy checkout chelf candy. It's really not food by definition and we teach our kids that. Sometimes they still get some, like at the 4th of July Independence parade. But we like to make our own candies and foods that we can trust. We don't give allowances. Our home functions as a teamwork not a business style. And it helps teach responsibility better. When they have their own home, no one is going to give them money for washing their own dishes. But we do teach consequences, there's good ones and bad ones for all our choices. So if a job is well done there are definitely good things that happen and thankful praise too. Owning their own chores really helps too. They seem to enjoy the fact that it's theirs. We don't always make them share. If appropriate, like the toy is theirs and the other child has lots else to play with and just wants it because the owner is playing with it. They must ask politely to play with it and the owner can say "yes" or "no" nicely back. If it doesn't belong to the 1st player we teach taking turns and helping everyone have fun. (I wasn't ever taught that I could say "no" and was taken advantage of in different ways growing up.) Jared Dodd has a good TH-cam video explaining why this is important. My husband and I try not to argue/discuss hard things in front of our kids. My parents always said they didn't want to "hide" anything from us... but there's so much a child can't understand and also the child can feel like it's their fault for the arguing or their responsibility to make the peace .... extra. If there's something they do hear, we make sure to let them know we resolved it and are unified again. Unidentified parents give children a huge blessing of peace, security, and love.
Thank you for sharing your precious family life ❤, my husband and I have already raised our children but as they grew up we implemented many of these values and we were criticized for it, as God fearing parents we take pride in honoring God with everything we do, now with grandchildren we continue to live by these values in our home, we can’t control what they do outside but at least when they’re here we set Godly values at the end of the day we sleep in peace knowing that we have done our best to Glorify God! ❤
I am so grateful for having found you today. I really am losing faith in the younger generation. You make me realize that there are still some younger people who still have values and morals they believe in and are raising their children that way. I thank God for you and people like you. May God bless you and yours!
This was a fantastic list!! The media ones are SO on point! One thing to consider, there are SO many kiddos with special needs like Autism, and a screen may be what’s necessary when out. The last one is such a stronghold on society, it’s like ppl can’t let it go. You’re a great mama and your fam is blessed to have you protect them and your home!
I love your rules! I have shared this with family. I agree with all of the 15 rules. The one that I especially love is the no sleepovers one. I raised my children with this rule. They didn’t like it and didn’t agree with it (we had no living grandparents to go on sleepovers with). I would take them to the house for the party and then pick them up for the night to sleep at our home. If they wanted to go back in the morning, I would take them so they could eat breakfast or talk for a few hours. I never gave in to their pleadings to stay overnight. A little while ago I talked to my sister about our “no sleepovers” rule and she told me her daughter was sexually assaulted at one when she was in 5th grade. I had no idea about that. She wished she had had a rule like that for sleepovers. 😔. Thanks for saying what I feel is-and isn’t ok. . It is nice to know other moms believe like I do.
I’m so used to living a life similar to yours that I forget other people live completely different. It only hits me when people are so shocked at something we do or don’t do. But it’s my normal and our kids normal they are not missing out on anything. They are having a fulfilling life.
Love everything about your list of don'ts... especially clothing, music, movies and Disney. I have a 6 year old granddaughter and unfortunately, her parents are split up and my daughter is more cautious about some things, but all I can do is pray the Lord protects her from unclean and unrighteous things at her dad's. I do what I can to help instill some things as well as I have her a couple days a week after school and a few days a week in the summer. I love listening to young, godly moms like you and others putting out this kind of content. Their is hope for this generation.
You are such an amazing inspiration. Your gentle reminders and insights have impacted my life and family in such a positive way. I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for all you share. 🙌🏻🙌🏻💜💜
Hi Steph, I admire your honesty. You and Josh are excellent role models for your four wonderful children and your example and influence will have a profound impact on their development. Keep doing what you are doing.
Thank u so much for standing up for what is right. Our children are our responsibility . We should protect them the best we can. Dress them right. God is goo.
I love the idea of not having a TV, it's so easy to intend to only watch one show and end up watching for hours and losing quality time with family/productive time. I also agree with homeschooling, it's so scary what kids are being exposed to at some schools today not to mention the effect bullying can have on them. We're hoping to homeschool our future children at least through elementary school.
We’ve been married 13 years and never owned a TV and our kids LOVE not having one. They actually thank us for not having one! And they’re sooooo creative with their deep free play. Win win win. ❤❤❤
I come from a culture of not having a tv and I know many people who do not have one. Every family I know without one or who gets rid of theirs has flourished tremendously.
I am a 76 years old grandma from Germany. I do not always agree with everything you do in your family but I agree with all these 15 points you was telling us. I raised my three children like that and they never missen anything. They became artist and musician and they all three work in culturel jobs. We never had weapons as toys. Evens I not am very religious i find the shopping free sundays very relaxing.(in Germany all the Shops are closed on sundays). My grandchildrens go to Steiner School.
Many of those things on your list, we also don’t do, but some were new & im thankful you shared. This video was encouraging. One thing we don’t do in our home is, we don’t allow our kids to walk in a room without greeting everyone there.
If I didn't have stepchildren who's mom was all about the opposite of what you're talking about (bright graphic shirts and jackets, constant screen time, fast food, pop music, etc.) I would parent as you're describing. I have two young daughters (2 and 3) and it breaks my heart to see some of what they're learning from their siblings (7 and 8) but I know that God's hand is on them and its teaching me to release ungodly control over their lives and my house. My husband is a man of God and constantly pouring into their hearts. I can't help but feel compassion for my stepkids in how they must be feeling with parents who believe and parent in such contrasting ways.
Just wow! You really have guts stating your methods and beliefs as parents. Some things I never really considered doing and others I have and others I wish I would have. These are all great! Good for you! God bless.❤
Number 2 struck a strong note for me. When my dad was a child he was forced to eat everything even when he gagged on it. Because of this when I was younger he and my mom never forced me to eat anything that didn't appeal to me. I remember many times eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while my parents had something different. My dad as an adult over time has developed strong food aversions, and finds it difficult to try new things. I, on the other hand find myself loving to experiment in the kitchen and fixing what he calls "fancy food". I know that everyone is different ( my grandson loves tofu 😂 ) and what works for one family doesn't work for another. It just made me wonder if as an adult if I would now have strong food aversions too if I was never given an out.
I did not hear her say that she forces her kids to eat. She simply does not make a separate meal for picky eaters. When my kids were little, if they didn’t eat what was on their plate, I would just put it in the fridge for later when they got hungry. I never forced them to eat. None of them are picky eaters.
My intent wasn't to imply that she forces her kids to eat rather that I'm okay with fixing a child something different. Not all children have the same tastes as adults and some have textural/sensory issues when it comes to certain foods. Just sharing my experiences 😊 not trying to start a debate.
I'm sure you'll get some push-back on some of those, but Do NOT let it discourage you. YOU and your husband make the decisions for your children, as your readers do (they just don't share it publicly). I think all of your choices are excellent, even Disney! I taught elementary school for many years and during that time I witnessed first hand the changes in children, their innocence lost, related exclusively to their exposure to video and internet. Your godly parenting will reap rewards in your children's lives.
I support ALLLL OF THESE!! And I don’t have a family yet- still in my singleness, learning from women of God like yourself, as Jesus leads me. Disney is straight up DEMONIC. So happy you & your husband know this 👏🏽
We are very close on all your “don’t’s”, even though it’s not exact. And I think they are wonderful boundaries that you’ve set for your kids that will help them. ❤ We have four ranging in age from 7yo down to 10 months, and we’ve seen such benefit from limiting screens (we don’t have a TV readily accessible either) and being guarded with their time. Life is busy enough without adding all these stressors that promise life and health but end up being detrimental in the long run. 😵💫 Another one that our family has to follow is no refined sugar. One of my daughters has struggled with upper respiratory inflammation for about five years, and we have noticed a direct correlation between her health and acute food consumption-time and time again. You mentioned seed oils, and that’s another that we avidly avoid whenever practical, along with almost all processed food. (I have a gluten intolerance and autoimmune inflammatory things that I have to keep in check as well). It’s hard when there are fun functions and we’re the weird people bringing our own desserts made from honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar 😆 but we keep talking about it honestly as a family and hoping that good habits will set in for all of our kids, and they will see the benefits in their own health in the long run. ❤
I truly think good nutrition is one of the biggest gifts we can give our kids. When you’re not healthy it affects SO many other areas of life as well! 🫶🏼
This list was beautiful. I'm so thankful to hear you speak about the importance of a day of rest. We have observed this for the 14 years of our marriage (and the 16 years of being a Christian) and I am surprised to hear how unpopular it is even among other Christians. Thank you for drawing attention to it.
I love how you don't speak poorly about each other, thats so good. I already do this with my husband( not that it's hard because he is wonderful 😊) but this is definitely something to teach the kids too. We also don't do tv and Disney
All of this sounds wonderful, and way to go on sticking to these. I will say, I'd love to see another video in 10+ years because as your children enter into their teenage years, these will be much harder to maintain. I think you are a beautiful person, and I sincerely wish you all the luck!!!
I really enjoyed this one, we have a lot in common in our nature. (The whole list) is what our family lives by too. I am thankful for people like you, a good solid woman in Christ, who inspires the hearts of many, and encourages us other ladies to be ok and content at, and in our homes, with what God given to us. (our blessings)
I admire you for the rules you have shared and for the boldness you have in sharing them for “the world” to pick apart! We were never able to have children, but your comment about the graphic tees and garish colors…🙌🏻 I know it is a common practice to have babies and children surrounded by bold colors, but personally bold colors do NOT resound well with me. I feel almost agitated by them, yet I feel like I am a well rounded individual with the calming colors I choose to surround myself with. With all of the children I have babysat through the years, I feel like they behaved better when they were in adorable classic colors, hair brushed and playing with toys that made them use their imagination than with the crazy colors/graphics, hair askew and playing video games. I know I also responded differently to them, if that makes sense. Like if they were having a bad attitude but looked so sweet and tidy it was easier to not react with a bad attitude myself. I hope that doesn’t make me sound like a horrible person! 🤪 I have a lot of littles that come over for play dates and our playroom is decorated in neutral wood/griege/white/black with a lot of wooden toys. Every child that has ever come to play LOVES our playroom! We don’t have a single brightly colored/noisy/electronic toy. They just use their imaginations!
One thing our family does not do is use any kind of birth control. We are a healthy family and have no medical reason to stop having children. We don't see children as a financial burden like many people today. Love your video!
This video is so refreshing! Such a great example of working hard to keep your family unit intact and as far away from the negative influences of modern-day society. Thank you!
You are a beam of sunshine and you inspired me to be more like you. I will be reaching out and asking questions because I want to change for my husband, for myself and for my kids. Thank you for speaking up. The world will attack you, but there are many of us that really need to hear this. Thank you will all my heart. Truly, you're a blessing ❤❤❤✝️🙏💯
So glad you have set high standards. You will not be sorry! This is pretty much the same way I raised my daughters, and they have followed in raising their children similarly. We are so very blessed by all of our children🙏💕
I absolutely love your channel and I love this episode!! I know that I am way older than you, but we have exactly the same values that is exactly how we were raised ! And I love your list. A lot of your list is exactly how I raised my kids. We do not talk to others about our struggles and unfortunately sometimes that could’ve been also family. Disney is also a huge no-no and although my kids are older now, I can’t always monitor what they watch but I have instilled in them. What is right and wrong! I always look forward to your channel. You should put a recipe book out. I would totally buy it. Thank you so much for all that you share with us. There’s nothing more refreshing than a proverbs woman may God continue to bless you and your family.
I appreciate your honesty and faithfulness to God. I also like #15. We have moved away from Disney as they seemed to be moving in a direction that we will not follow.
I grew up poor and my childhood was amazing! I had so much fun. My parents got me a phone when kids were turned 16 it was a little phone that I could call them or message them. I didn’t have unnecessary things. I am a mom to be next year! And I would appreciate prayers for a good labor and for wisdom to raise my daughter to be a good woman and teach her good things! The way I was taught! I loved this video because it reminded me of all things my parents did. I pray I can do all right things for my little one
Wish there were more mommas like you. It’s funny how being a Godly mother these days everyone thinks is so “constricted and hard” aren’t we here to shield them and help mold them keeping them safe from things the world tries to throw at them?
You are a mama with a big heart for your beautiful family. I would respectfully add that although we can plan with our best intentions, God has a unique plan and purpose for each one of us, and for our children. Oftentimes God's path for our children is different from ours, sometimes very different, and it challenges us to remember that they are wonderfully created for a special purpose, for their own journey. Supporting and encouraging our children to realize who they are, regardless of whether or not it aligns with our core values, is our most important role.
I agree with all of these! I'm thankful I just found your channel. You have a very bubbly and sweet voice which reminds me of a mom from my sons' school co-op :)
Your family is inspirational, and your parenting is so wonderful intentional. Parenting is a huge responsibility, and certainly one that God inspires. He is greatly blessing you and your family. The Lord bless you and keep you...🎶🎶
#15 made me a new subscriber! I’m so happy your channel was suggested to me! I agree with everything you said and hold the same “rules” in my house. Keep up the good work! God bless you and your family!
Good for you for speaking your truth. You have to be one of the most positive influencers. So many could learn from you and your family. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
No TV? That’s fascinating. You make many good points and I happen to be in agreement with you. Some might think you’re overprotective of your kids, but if they are doing sleepovers, etc, you have absolutely no control and that’s not good. You are also so right about the evil in some music and movies, and that is coming from a life long musician! And yes, I definitely agree with you about Disney. I find it sad and pathetic what they have turned into.
I admire you for being able to raise your family this way!!! I simply agree with each one!!! I've raised my children. I am a empty nester. I wish I could go back and change some things!! You are doing a fantastic job!! Take care God bless!!!!
Our kids are young teens now, and don't have phones yet. Thanks for sharing the gabb option! One thing we do not do as a family is celebrate Halloween.
hey girl- I'm back again😊 These things were all so good! You and your family sound a lot like my husband and I. We hardly ever eat out either. Since Covid we have eaten out a handful of times. I am so glad you are teaching your kids the right way. God has blessed your richly🥰
I have never sat down and made a list of the things we do not do. This was so good to watch. As you were going along I realised we do most of the things you talked about.
I always swore up and down I wouldn’t raise a picky eater but then my guy had to go on medication and it was traumatic for all of us and it created some serious food/oral aversions that he is still working through. At this point I am just happy when he eats a bite of anything. At 11 months old his palate is still in training and expanding, but I’ve learned quickly that it’s often not as simple as “don’t serve chicken nuggets and they won’t be picky.” I absolutely love to cook and I love to eat so I’m hoping he will too as he continues to grow and gets exposed to new and different foods. Love your videos! 🥰
My husband and I are pregnant with our first and one thing we absolutely hate is giving young kids access to phones/tablets..etc! Especially if its free access. We both love and strongly believe in creativity and learning through play!
As a new TH-camr family its nice to see other people on here who hold similar values. Thanks for sharing. You are very inspiring! …now to reduce my kiddos screen time. Haha
So good to see young families standing up for right values. The SABBATH DAY IS ALWAYS THE 7Th DAY only day of creation that God Blessed from Genesis to Revaluations He never changed it. God bless your precious family.
Such wonderful guidelines to live by. I wish I would have implemented some of those when my children were young. Especially with the outside activities. I felt like we were always spread so thin running each child here and there and my husband taking one of our three and me taking one or both of the other two. Even with being involved in our church activities sometimes like me teaching Awana’s and then trying to be involved with our older daughter in the youth program to our boys playing church basketball. Now that they are all grown I tell them to slow their lives down and enjoy every day because they go by so fast. Thank you for this video. Your are such a wise inspiration to so many young mothers ❤
Great rules for raising children right . The world would be in a much better place if every mother did the same . God bless you and your beautiful family.
Growing up in a Muslim household we do most of the stuff you mentioned. We did have tv time together like movie nights but we never watched alone. We never go to theaters. Never go out to eat only for graduations and on holidays and some times we walk to get dessert. No music no shirts with eyes on them or pictures on the walls with eyes. No cuss words. We are raised in NYC and went to public schools but we were not allowed to go to friend’s houses we went to the park everyday together. Only did family sleepovers with cousins. We range from the age 27 to 9 . The younger children don’t have their own devices but we do allow video games on the family tv so we all have to watch each other play. We have a computer as well we all share. No social media under 18 and even if we’re above 18 we are not to be active no public platforms. My parents and family members know all my friends and I know all theirs.
TY for Boldly standing for Truth! I wouldn't take my daughters to Disney nor allow them to go with another family because first of all Mickry was titled as a sorcerer!!! Made a stand to my Pastors wife and her responce was I'm not convinced of that. This I declared since 1977. When I explained to my daughters who were already born again were willing not to attend ❤ PTL!!!
Thank you for sharing! These are such great values that are sadly not common in many households today! I appreciate those that still hold true to biblical principles.
I love love watching your channel ! You have been such a Christian-like example of how I want to raise my children ! Thank you for being an inspiration to me
There was a time in my life when there were no phones at all. No land lines phones. Cell phones were not existent then. About 20% of households had a landline phone. We didn't. If there was emergency you had to run to a neighbor who had a phone.
I love this channel. Way to go sticking up for what is right. We agree with this 110 %. I love our sundays together as a family. I grew up milking cows in the 90s . So much fun living on a farm. Now many years later i married a farmer and have 4 children nothing sweeter then raising children ❤ bless you and your family. I just found your channel i watch it while working out. We don't do more then one sport. We don't do sleepovers either. We support each other we are family. ❤ we look out for each other.
Sounds like a good christian family with good values!! This is how I grew up with 7 siblings and good godly parents. Im married now, have 1 beautiful daughter and still leave christian life - the way Bible teaching us. I have so much in common with Steph, even though I grow up in Kazakhstan . We as Christians have to be different from this world people. May God bless you all, and continue helping us to be true God's children .
Yay! Just found your channel and your content is very refreshing! One thing we don't do is order drinks, appetizers or desserts when we eat out (2-3x month) unless it's a special occasion or we have a coupon to get it free.
Everyone can raise their kids as they choose but too restrictive of a lifestyle especially for teens can result in rebellion and sneaky kids. Good luck, you seem like a very nice person.
I am 60 and my kids are 32 and 34. Technology just started booming when they were in their late elementary/early teen years. We had one TV, central and one computer, central in the home where we could always keep an eye on them. Neither had a tv or computer in their rooms as long as they lived with us. And neither got a cell phone until they got their license which was 17 for one and 18 for the other. Both have thanked us later in life. Neither have been to Disney, I'm proud to say! We always opted for state or national parks to visit or history sites. We weren't perfect parents, by any means, but we were more strict than a lot of parents who just let their kids do whatever. And our kids were not perfect either. But I felt better not letting them have free range of everything.
I guess that business degree came in handy after all!😁
Thanks for being such a great example, Victoria 🫶
What you did was pave the way and you did it without any outside validation. 🤩
i made the same choice 40 years ago
So true! Thank you, Juana 🫶🏼
I wish it were easier to find channels without all the weird religious aspects. Christianity has not done good for America and I wish there were more channels without this indoctrination
@@hayleym1012if you don’t enjoy this, please leave. I am new and I am happy to watch it. You will find out someday that Christianity is not weird.
As a Muslim woman, I 100% agree with all your house rules and would do much the same with my husband, if we are blessed with children. Praying for children soon. May God guide you to the straight path.
Ameen
It is so nice to see a young family with morals.
I stand behind you 💯 %!!! You’re doing an incredible job, raising your children in a Christ ~centered home 🥰✨✝️✨🙌🏻📖🌿🕊
That’s a beautiful perspective 🫶🏼 we also don’t celebrate Santa.
It helped that my kids went to a Jewish preschool so there wasn't any mention of it lol
I remember I found out that there was no Santa by a nun in my Catholic school in 3rd grade.
I was raised the way you are raising your children and I thank my parents everyday May God give you many blessings ❤
Mama, you do not have to explain to ANYONE, why you choose to do or not do certain things for your family! You know best.
Thank you for sharing 🙏
I thought we were old fashioned but it is so refreshing and encouraging to see young family like yours with Godly morals and upbringing 🙏
We have been married for 27 years, God has blessed us with 8 children and we started our life without a tv...
Thank you for sharing, Tatyana❤ that’s a beautiful testimony!
I admire that you not only shared what your family doesn’t do but that you shared why you don’t do that. As a child, I struggled with the “don’t do that” without that explanation of why we don’t do that.
You’re doing a great job guarding your children from this fallen world, mama! 🤍
Thank you for your encouraging words, Caroline 🫶
I think about 98% of what u said is how i grew up/still belive in and practice with my children. We grew up known as a "strict" family but now that im a mom i value so so much all the my parents taught me and now teach it to my own children😊💕
That's wonderful, Stella 🫶
Good job, Momma! You're doing so awesome and we do things very similarly in our home! I have a vivid memory of things I shouldn't have watched as a child. Protecting our children's purity is our number one job.
SO hard in this culture, but worth every effort 🫶🏼
Amen!
Thank you for the courage to post this video. I pray that this video reaches as many mothers as possible and that their hearts and ears are opening to hear your message.
And hopefully they’ll take it as it is meant. Helpful advice to navigate these modern waters of raising children instead of a message of judgment.
We’ll done! 💗🙏🏻
I truly hope that’s how it comes across 🫶🏼
I admire the way you and your husband are raising your family blessing to you
I don't have children, but a lot of what you don't do makes complete sense and it's admirable.
Thank you, April 🫶🏼
Completely agree! We have three young children and we don’t do all 15 of these things as well. Encouraging to know we’re not alone. ❤
I’m 76 years old and I think you’re doing a great job with your life and raising happy, healthy children.
I couldn't agree more with everything you mentioned. Your children are very blessed to have such a sweet and inspired mother.
Thank you for your kind words, Madelin 😊
I think this is the first video I’ve watched like this which shares principles I am growing in. Thank you for bringing them with such grace and love x
We are 100% on board with #15 and we also do many of the same things that you listed! Refreshing to watch videos where others put God first too!!
Thank you 🫶🏼
No Disney for us either!
Thank you, Corrita 🫶🏼
Thank you for your encouragement, Patricia 🫶🏼
Thank u so much for standing up for what is right. Our children are our responsibility . We should protect them the best we can. Dress them right. God is goo.
I love the idea of not having a TV, it's so easy to intend to only watch one show and end up watching for hours and losing quality time with family/productive time. I also agree with homeschooling, it's so scary what kids are being exposed to at some schools today not to mention the effect bullying can have on them. We're hoping to homeschool our future children at least through elementary school.
That’s beautiful, Savannah 🫶🏼 so true!
I do not always agree with everything you do in your family but I agree with all these 15 points you was telling
us.
This video is so refreshing. I defunitely agree with little kids having a CELLPHONE. Good life lessons for the family
Thank you, Helen ❤
And your example to them will not be forgotten 🫶🏼 keep pouring into their lives. It’s not in vain ❤️
@@thisgoldenhour thank you so much. Your encouragement is golden :)
Love the 15 things I totally agree with you on each and every thing you are smart to keep your family away from bad influences and possible harm ❤
Just wow! You really have guts stating your methods and beliefs as parents. Some things I never really considered doing and others I have and others I wish I would have. These are all great! Good for you! God bless.❤
This was so refreshing to hear! We are also a conservative, Christian homeschool family. I appreciate your values! Keep on doing what you’re doing!
What a gorgeous attitude towards honoring your husband and loving your children!
Another one that our family has to follow is no refined sugar.
That’s beautiful, Megan 🫶🏼
It would be “secular” music.
My husband and I have the same values for our family!!! Blessed to see you guys do these things as well. 🤍
Ahh, that’s the word 😅 thank you!
I love how you don't speak poorly about each other, thats so good. I already do this with my husband( not that it's hard because he is wonderful 😊) but this is definitely something to teach the kids too. We also don't do tv and Disney
That’s wonderful, Anna 🫶🏼
All of this sounds wonderful, and way to go on sticking to these. I will say, I'd love to see another video in 10+ years because as your children enter into their teenage years, these will be much harder to maintain. I think you are a beautiful person, and I sincerely wish you all the luck!!!
My husband and I feel the exact same way with ALL of these! So encouraged by you & your videos - thank you so much for making these🤍
Thank you for this! Your sweet, godly, strong mothering is so encouraging!
Thank you so much, Sally 🫶
I have a lot of littles that come over for play dates and our playroom is decorated in neutral wood/griege/white/black with a lot of wooden toys. Every child that has ever come to play LOVES our playroom! We don’t have a single brightly colored/noisy/electronic toy. They just use their imaginations!
That’s incredible, Rebekah 🫶🏼
We are pregnant with our first child and want to raise it with intention. I love the way you raise your children! God bless you in that!
Exactly!
The Lord bless you and keep you...🎶🎶
YES! I agree with you! We don't do all of these 15 things as well in our home ~ great parenting! Wonderful godly lifestyle.
I love your testimony of listening to Gods leading to stay home and teach/nurture/disciple/protect your children
Your sister in Christ
Have no tv and don’t miss it at all. I’m a big reader and the money saved from cable is amazing. Always eat meals at home. Love your channel ❤
#15 made me a new subscriber! I’m so happy your channel was suggested to me! I agree with everything you said and hold the same “rules” in my house. Keep up the good work! God bless you and your family!
your disney comment was it for me to subsribe your channel. First video. I apreciate your boldness and I love it.
Good for you for speaking your truth. You have to be one of the most positive influencers. So many could learn from you and your family. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
You are so kind, Victoria 🫶 Thank you!
Bless you, so encouraging to this old Momma, an pray many catch on, from your honest, uplifting video!! Susie
Thank you, Susie 🫶🏼
My husband and I are pregnant with our first and one thing we absolutely hate is giving young kids access to phones/tablets..etc! Especially if its free access. We both love and strongly believe in creativity and learning through play!
As a new TH-camr family its nice to see other people on here who hold similar values. Thanks for sharing. You are very inspiring!
…now to reduce my kiddos screen time. Haha
Thank you 😊
Agree 100% on all especially about kids being on phones…
So good to see young families standing up for right values. The SABBATH DAY IS ALWAYS THE 7Th DAY only day of creation that God
Blessed from Genesis to Revaluations He never changed it.
Thank you, Jody 🫶
That’s so beautiful, Laura ❤️ welcome here!
Right here with you friend! I agree with so much of what you shared! Especially #15! Thank you for all the hard work you put into your channel!
I so appreciate this! We are right in alignment with your list as well.
Not true! Rules without relationship= rebellion. Big difference!
That is so encouraging to hear, Caron 🫶🏼 thanks for sharing!
We do no extra curricular sports too, it makes afternoons and weekends such a nice time to spend together with no rushing around 🥰
