You are absolutely amazing. My grandson was due to start reception class (August baby) so only just 3 yet he still wanted a pull-up on to do a number 2. Literally the week before he was due to start he started using the loo. We couldn’t believe it… but we got the ladder steps up to the smaller seat. He loved it… also once at reception class the children went to the loo at certain times and they copy so after weeks of worrying he actually attended reception class in little boxers on, he did it, so don’t worry. With Halle just put small pieces of soft brown pieces of bread with soft cheese on, just keep trying soft finger food with her. One day she will pick something up and like it. You are a beautiful kind mummy and never forget that. I think going back to work will benefit you all. 😊
Breast feeding and the emotional pressure of it is so difficult. Our now 5 month old lost more weight than midwives would have liked in the first week, but he was gaining weight back slowly. Like you said he was wanting to feed every half an hour I could get no rest at all. The midwife I was under didn't have the best attitude and made me feel so bad that my body wasn't producing enough for him. She put a lot of pressure on how fast he was gaining the weight back and I felt like my every move was being watched. I blamed myself for a long time. We moved to combi feeding then over to formula and it was the right decision for us too. I have much more brain space for actually interacting with our baby instead of only worrying about feeding now, but I am still glad that I gave it a go and that he did have breast milk for while x
Potty training: My daughter was like that it took us 4 months to Potty trained. i was so sad, disappointed myself, everyone saying u could that .but finally, we did it 🙌 oneday you will ❤
Shan, you honestly feel like a sister to me! hehe. Hallie is about a week older than my boy I think, and I also had issues with breastfeeding because of a tongue tie etc. Also thinking about not feeling ready to go back to work in a few months time... Thanks for the chat as always
I resonate with all of this.... i struggled from 1 to 2 massivley, and like you looking back think i may have had a touch of PND but didn't realise at the time.I'm also a Civil Servant in Policy.... like you after my second child I was very undecided about whether to request a career break or go back. I decided to go back because I was concerned after 2+ years out I would loose professional confidence making any return to work harder. I also thought about being a SAHM... totally dis my own head in going around in circles deciding 🤪. In the end, I returned 3 days PW. Its not been easy at times, but I really value my work and professional identity and not just being mum. It's not a now or never decision either, you can request a career break at any time. Happy to chat if would help!! ❤
Good morning Shan! This is just the video I needed this morning. My little is the same age as Halle and we are also in the breastfeeding/ nap routine/ bit anxious about milestones era! Your videos are so comforting to other mums, it’s so nice to feel connected to this online community. Sending love and wishing you all a lovely Sunday xxx
For potty training we've been very lucky. We waited until our toddler said she wanted to start using the toilet. We have maybe 1 accident a week. Soft play, long car journeys and night we still use nappies because we just never know if we can get to a toilet on time.
Regarding transitioning to the potty, I think my daughter is a minority but I didn’t train her at all. I introduced a potty and underwear around 2.5, we talked about it and kept her in pull ups for months. 2 weeks before turning 3 she woke up and said “I want knickers now, I’m done with nappies” and she’s probably had 4 accidents since. I honestly believe she was mentally and physiologically ready, she wanted this change and there was no external pressure. I still put a nappy on her for naps (that stays dry) and during the night (rarely stays dry) and I will only remove them once she is consistently dry, I’m in no rush whatsoever.
Aw I loved this video! I can relate so strongly to it! My daughter is 2.5 now and I think we've finally nailed potty training but she sounds very similar to George in needing bribes and enticing. So true about losing the battle the minute you force it!! Strong willed little people were raising ❤😂 Glad that Halle seems to be improving in the sleep department, solidarity though - my little boy is 8 months and I've just put him in his own room, to see if that improves things. Smashing it mamma ❤
Hey Shan! 😊 Been watching your channel since your wedding videos! (We got married around the same time so I loved watching them!) I have an almost 7 month old (and two older kids too!) and pretty sure you are local to me, so if you ever fancied a mum chat in real life I’m around! 😄 x
Wish I could pause the video multiple times and just jump in to answer you 🤣 instead I have to try and keep it all in my head til the end! I instantly feel more positive when you hear someone else at a similar stage is also not finding it all easy. With you with the potty training thing too. My little boy will basically not do anything unless it was his idea or world war 3 kicks off. I swear/hope it must be a boy thing (my second is a girl too)! Totally rooting for your insta and TH-cam and love seeing how much it’s growing. I also think it can sometimes look easy for people to come up with all this content but it’s a full time job to try and keep on top of it so hats off to you. I have a business alongside my kids (while on maternity from my ‘proper job’) and it does slightly irk me when people either refer to it as my ‘little business’ as if it’s just an hour a week for fun or ask if I’m ’going back to work’. I want to reply actually I have worked from 6am til my baby got up and will still be working at midnight while they sleep 🙈 but instead I just have to politely answer something like oh I’m not sure 😂
I really love your content and honesty, but instead of promoting going to better help, you could also promote the postnatal services at the NHS has. They are so much more accessible for people than going to better help and paying money.
I heard toddlers can get constipated quite easily and this can give them a fear of going no2. I don’t know if you’ve thought about trying to address in case that’s what’s causing him to struggle? My son is just 1.5 years so we haven’t started yet but I’m sure I read this somewhere. Not sure exactly how to action it but thought I’d mention.
I am really struggling potty training my 3 year old as well. Mainly with the poos. She started of veryyyy well but for the last couple of weeks, she has a poo accident every time now
Is the forest school a separate setting? I have a 2 year old version of George 🤣 at home he needs constant attention and stimulation and loves typical 'boy' stuff like making a mess, climbing etc. just wondering if it's something you recommend looking into?
Your an amazing person and mum to both George and Hallie ❤ would love to know more about you. What job did you want to do growing up, is it the job you do now? If not, how did your job come about? What other jobs have you had, if any? How did you and Ash meet? Hope they are not too personal and dont ever feel you have to answer them but im interested in you as a person too and im sure others would have a question they would like to ask also. Absolutely love your videos and you bring me so much peace when im having a tough day with my toddler aswell or even when im not. I watch a few youtubers but you are by far my favourite and will always choose your video to watch 1st. Watched you since you was pregnant with G and i was pregnant with my boy. Im sure iv commented that before 😂 have a great week because you deserve it xx
Good morning shan hope your well. My wee bo is the same age as George and have watched you since George was born. I'm still a mum that feels a lone, so i feel you i dont have mum freinds have ried but due to lockdown, it's been hard as working 5 days a week, i can't go to toddler clubs. When you say you feel alone, i feel you i do all the time. Xxx
Hi Shan, loved this video, it was such a nice chill and chat. I really liked hearing your experience about sleep with Halle. At what age did you start trying to get her to go down to sleep more independently? Xx
Hey Shan, I also use the huckleberry app, I’ve been trying to find out how to get the timer/ banner thing on the front of my phone for the sweet spot so I can glance at it like you do but I don’t know how to do it, any tips?
Hi Shan, lovely video, I finally gave in to this dreadful weather and trying to dry clothes on radiators and airers and got a tumble dryer and I am obsessed! So happy to have a bit more headspace that's not worrying about the mountain of dirty clothes 😂😊
I never understood why tumble dryers were so uncommon in Britain, with such humid weather! I'm from the South of France living in Scotland and definitely couldn't do without one 😅
@@mll1208 I've finally got my own at aged 40, I only got a dishwasher two years ago as well 😂 I think it's having a small kitchen and/or no utility room, makes it very hard to fit everything in x
Morning guys, hope you’re all having a lovely weekend? What’s new with you? 🥹♥️
Hi love your videos. Your amazing. Have a great week ❤❤❤
You always articulate yourself really well.
Really enjoy all your content so realistic no fluff which is what we love xxx
Aw thank you so much that’s so kind of you! 🥹♥️

I stopped breastfeeding at 3 months and I was not prepared for the hormone drop and explained a second baby blues! I was totally unprepared for it!

Lovely video, please just make the most of being young,as believe you me when you reach your 50’s your want to be young and energetic! ❤
Super interesting! Slight aside - where's your sofa from? I'm after something green and comfy - and got completely sidetracked looking at it lol! 😆

🩷 I think we are fairly local to you in hertford (I’ve seen you at a softplay ☺️) - my daughter is close in age to George. X
Hi hope this is constructing but the sound on this video isn’t great. It’s a bit echoey its not the easiest to listen to xxxx
