The reason rent is up by 25 percent in the last 4 years is largely due to immigration. We have a raise of 1.5million in 2 years. That's almost as much as the previous 85 years combined. Think about how supply and demand affect prices and how an increase of 750k a year in people will affect prices. This will be better than getting your views from someone else
It's not immigration causing that, it's unchecked capitalism. The UK has enough housing to house every single person in this country and millions to spare. Most of these flats and houses however are bought up by megacorporation real estates who hike the prices up to double the value because they know people are desperate for a roof over their head. If they could put a price on the air we breathe, they would, and they'd make it expensive. Immigrants aren't the real problem, they're being used to direct the blame away from multimillionaire companies.

Therefore prices rise. Housing, services, just about everything. In 2023, we had a net migration of nearly 1 MILLION. We are a small island of less than 70 million, and that is a population increase the size of our 2nd biggest city, Birmingham.
