Here you go LT Harbor Freight BadLands winch. They are cheap and Matt's off road towing uses them and also get yourself a jump box so you don't even have to hard wire them. If it comes down to time. This is just an idea 💡 only .
It's cool to see you using a come along to pull that on. I 've used one for so many cars over the years, I've lost count! At 47 years old, I finally got a used winch on my trailer and it's wonderful!
LT congrats, man. I can't wait to see this pickup making hits and hurting feelings! It will truly be a one of a kind build. It would be cool to see it painted Sonic Gray if it was mine.
Great find!! I love these trucks and you making them fast is even better. I've got a 94 Suburban that's in great shape im working on. Im looking for a big block now. Thanks for the update.
What up lt.... I would like to see an ss front clip on this, also, imo, with the crazy work and detail u have done I would like to see the bed not have a floor, just put a tonneau on it so u can pop the tonneau and show it off...
Probably the only channel where I watch videos all the way through lol love the older Chevy content, I noticed you had the frame and another vehicle in a storage unit. I also keep my truck in a storage unit for winter and it being my first season doing so, I was curious if you experienced corrosion and rust on your vehicles during the cold? Thanks
Since air resistance at higher speeds like you'll endure on the track can affect your ETs, have you considered chopping the top? It'd give it a really cool look while at the same time adding the function of reducing wind drag. You like orange so much, so why not make it the shade of orange you like the most? After all, this one's gonna be a keeper, and an orange chopper 4WD that sets records will definitely be a one-of-a-kind!
Man I gotta say, wouldn’t it have made more sense to buy a complete truck (with a bad frame or salvaged title or blown powertrain)? You can pick them up for next to nothing, and it’d save alot of work with piecing together the parts your missing now… also if your building a truck from scratch why not go single cab 🤔 would have been cool to see a Tahoe frame, with single cab from a long bed, and short bed from an extended cab
Dude.....winch is literally a lide changer. My harbor freight winch has been used constantly since i put it on my trailer. So much faster....but really so much easier
I don't know if I am more excited for this build to pick back up or the s10/2nd gen syclone thing you are doing (i know you do not like the sound of a v6), I just wish you were going with a 4.3l turbo/twin turbo in it rather then an ls which is overdone and not all that interesting anymore IMO.
I love seeing updates on this truck, and youre giving me ideas on my own truck. 02 gmc sierra w 6.0 turbo. Because of your "COPO" truck Im intendibg on going all wheel drive. I cant love this truck enough.
@LawrenceTolman If you sell the HVAC box, I may be interested in buying it depending on price and shipping. Mine in my 05 Tahoe was damaged from previous owner
Off topic question… can I direct swap my 05 Silverado rear end with drum brake with a rear end with disc brakes out of a 03 Silverado. Same gear ratios 3.73
I still say that you would have been better off buying a complete truck with a blown engine or transmission. That way you would have had all the parts to put it together. You could have sold the uneeded parts to recoup some of the money.
He did so much custom work to the chassis he has that he'd have to swap that, and in the end it'd be just as much work as simply finding the parts to finish this one up piecemeal. :/ Do remember, junkyard parts for the years he's looking at are pretty easy to find, and he's in a great area for it besides. Colorado has lots of trucks. ;)
Eh, a truck like this is already light in the rear, and that's not altogether good. Light weight overall is fine, but balance is important too - and with the power he's gonna make, the weight difference might be less of an issue that the balance difference. :/
what color should we go on this? I do like the Silver, but also considered something like Arrival Blue, or a bright Red?
Miller Red
get a wrap in the style of the old square body 2tones.
I'd keep the Silver myself. :)
Birch silver, like the SS’s. Maybe even a big block SS clone in the work? Lol
White, with a truck bed cover, and make it look like a work truck with the shop logos and phone number!
Thanks for updating us Larry! I love your approach to your builds and certainly miss seeing Sunday mornings on that show you used to co-host.
If this one turns out as nice as the copo truck its gonna be great. Keep us up to date on progress and we'll keep watchin LT
LEETTSS GOOO!!!! I've been wanting you to un-ugly the Ugly Truck since forever!!

Awesome to see it off of the back burner... so looking forward to the completion 👍😉

Watching the greatest mechanic in YT pull up his truck manually, #priceless
Super pumped for this build.
I cant wait until this truck is done
I always liked that factory blue slate metallic color.
I can't believe how clean the belly of that cab is wow what a project find it is?
9 👍's up LT thank you for sharing 😊
That cab is super clean!
Such a great moment!! Be done before you know it.
LT congrats, man. I can't wait to see this pickup making hits and hurting feelings! It will truly be a one of a kind build. It would be cool to see it painted Sonic Gray if it was mine.
This truck is going to be B.A!😊
YAY! I've been waiting for more on the drag truck! But the little GMC is also fun to watch.
Oops I meant the S-10 build.
Woohoo!!! Stoked for you 🤗🤗
Great find and it looks great!! This will be one fast truck!!!
Great find
RED.. always a great choice!😂
Great find!! I love these trucks and you making them fast is even better. I've got a 94 Suburban that's in great shape im working on. Im looking for a big block now. Thanks for the update.
You just gave me an idea of how to switch my cab 😀
Very cool Lt. I’d leave it that colour I like it too
Arrival Blue, My trucks Arrival Blue and I love it and I don't see many others with the same color.
Nice score!
Wow Your build is Amazing 🔥 💛 👍🏼
Silver ,white, dark green, dark blue, nardo grey
Nice find
Cant wait to see more progress!
Glad you could make some progress on it lt
One step forward! I was honestly hoping you would do another regular cab short bed AWD but with the 535 turbo or a big whipped blower on it
Kind of like the color it is . Kind of a sleeper vibe
What up lt.... I would like to see an ss front clip on this, also, imo, with the crazy work and detail u have done I would like to see the bed not have a floor, just put a tonneau on it so u can pop the tonneau and show it off...
Nice 👍
You definitely need a winch. Good ol harbor freight winches work great. I have a 12k.
Protec box !!!!

I also keep my truck in a storage unit for winter and it being my first season doing so, I was curious if you experienced corrosion and rust on your vehicles during the cold? Thanks
We need longer videos
That Tracker tho!
Go with the bright red
A winch is a must have on a trailer .
If you won't so far away you could come pluck stuff off this 04 suburban I'm about to crush
You should have edited in "3 hours later" when you were winching the chassis up on the trailer. You need a trailer winch! 🤣
❤❤❤ if not volkswagen reflex silver, which is a fine mica color, and glows like a champ in sunlight... your business colors
Buy another k2500 Suburban LT! You dont see much love for those trucks and I'd watch the hell outta that series!
It needs flames. Everything needs flames
I’m sure this will get the gears ⚙️ moving in you to get this underway
buy a powersaw winch. that way you can throw in tool box when you need it , it is small

The guy makes TH-cam video the more work requires the better the content. Imho
Hey LT, I would be interested in the door panels, if you decide not to use them but I live in Maine.
Electric blue
😂 HI-HO SILVER !
Need more info on that square build...
03 up GMC front end is what need to be on thare.
I have an 04 silverado can cut cab pieces out of and the radiator support
Dude.....winch is literally a lide changer.
My harbor freight winch has been used constantly since i put it on my trailer. So much faster....but really so much easier
Safer too, so it'll be Spouse-Approved.
I am local to the springs, and I have a all steel HD cat eye cowl hood still in the black ecoating 450 Let me know if you’re interested.
Where did you find aluminum drop spidles at 1:55?
I don't know if I am more excited for this build to pick back up or the s10/2nd gen syclone thing you are doing (i know you do not like the sound of a v6), I just wish you were going with a 4.3l turbo/twin turbo in it rather then an ls which is overdone and not all that interesting anymore IMO.
The 535 cid isn't an LS, and 8.75 liters of twin-turbo big-block may be many things, but it ain't boring...
@@plepgeat well that comment was referring to the awd s-10 he is building that’s going to be getting an ls turbo or whatever.
Ah, gotcha @@rgreerjr. I think a twin-turbo Atlas 4200 would be nifty in the S-10...
What control arms are you using?
Silver
@LT can those aluminum spindles work on a 2 wheel drive
6th day of the year
#EntrapmentDay
Hey LT I'm interested in the front seats if they are good I'm in Colorado.
You must be really tall . Single cab should lighter than a cab and half. Make sense for room in s10 but full size weight equals slower
I love seeing updates on this truck, and youre giving me ideas on my own truck. 02 gmc sierra w 6.0 turbo. Because of your "COPO" truck Im intendibg on going all wheel drive. I cant love this truck enough.
Finally
Did you get a title with the cab?
@LawrenceTolman If you sell the HVAC box, I may be interested in buying it depending on price and shipping. Mine in my 05 Tahoe was damaged from previous owner
Mounting a winch on your trailer would make a great video. Just saying.
Off topic question… can I direct swap my 05 Silverado rear end with drum brake with a rear end with disc brakes out of a 03 Silverado. Same gear ratios 3.73
Not another extended cab...
4 door would be nice
i have a dash and a front clip for you here in town LT
I still say that you would have been better off buying a complete truck with a blown engine or transmission. That way you would have had all the parts to put it together. You could have sold the uneeded parts to recoup some of the money.

Is that silver or silver birch?
Gotta find a "Pro-tec" bed. Composite and lgiht weight
Good idea
Eh, a truck like this is already light in the rear, and that's not altogether good. Light weight overall is fine, but balance is important too - and with the power he's gonna make, the weight difference might be less of an issue that the balance difference. :/
You lost me at 07 front end... that poor truck :`(
Geo tracker project??!!
If the door panels are code 12 d graphite can I buy them off you?
Love watching your vids, but this whole video was you putting a cab on a frame that could’ve been a 2 minute video.
I’m interested in front door panels if you decide to sell them and would ship them. Let me know.
Bubble eye or cat eye ?
Do fiberglass pre-runner fenders and bedsides. Light weight and wide body for big tires.
needs a quadrasteer bed
Ss clone??
are you ever going to finish the mustang or no because the motor is bad
Pretty sure he sold it if I'm not mistaken.
You should've put a AMC pacer body on that chassis LT! lmao
He keeps saying main channel and I can’t seem to find another channel he has?
As picky as you are I can’t believe you chose to live with a HOA….. disappointing honestly. Keep up the great content.
So much weight you can loose
Uok bro?
First
Who fn cares
@@jasonmiller9902 you did
Please get rid of that music noise while you're talking about anything.
Very annoying!
