Whether some people are good or bad at wearing heels, to wear really high heels is not healthy for the feet. Our feet weren't meant to have all the pressure exerted on the toes-they get pushed forward, and it's not a pretty sight. Just take a look at someone who's worn nothing but high heels for years-their scrunched toes give them away.

I'm sure it does depend on many other factors; and you certainly seem much more knowledgeable about high heels than I am. Though I should note that not all flat feet are the same; some actually do have an arch, which just collapses when the foot is placed on a flat surface. This type of flat foot can still look okay in heels.
ok, i've never taught anyone how to walk in heels but i _have_ been in a teaching capacity before and i *perfectly* understand why she's exaggerating the movement: she's trying to teach these women how to do it! during a normal outing you're just gonna walk at a normal speed ...anyway, please look closer at her feet and see that the end result IS heel-toe, *because* she's "aiming the ball". that's all she said: "aiming the ball". also positioning the heel directly behind the ball (like she said) _IS_ how it results in the most natural heel-toe. otherwise you'd be clopping like a fucking horse down the sidewalk if you exaggerated the heel first. she's 100000% *RIGHT* in my book

Well I don't wear heels anymore but I just might start after this but now I'm so confused... I can't remember how I used to walk in them never had a problem before just walked.
