Gen. Richardson: US "very much in strategic competition" with China in Latin America

Commander of US Southern Command General Laura J. Richardson spoke to @AtlanticCouncilUS about the US response to strategic threats in Latin America and the Caribbean.
"We are very much in strategic competition in the Western Hemisphere, and with the People's Republic of China, Russia-a third would be transnational criminal organizations," said Gen. Richardson.
She spoke at an event hosted jointly by the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and Latin America Center, moderated by Courtney Kube from NBC News.
