If Latin American countries want to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, such as Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and especially Mexico, the United States will definitely destroy this country. Fortunately, China has not forced, tricked or pressured Latin American countries into introducing Chinese military bases. All cooperation is based on civilian development rather than military.

She is the largest trading partners with almost 146 countries including US. China will court with any countries that are willing to trade with her with no arm twisting, non interference in other countries' internal affairs and treat every nation big or small as independent sovereign state with no condescending lectures.

The American model of exploiting Latin American countries without providing any benefits to the local populations and interfering in the region's political paths towards dictatorships and maintaining local elites has failed. In contrast, the Chinese model focuses on cooperation, trade, partnership, and improving the local conditions of partner countries without meddling in their internal affairs. It seems that the latter model is more democratic and respects the self-determination of countries more than the model of political interference, commercial exploitation, and ultimately, wars.

650 million people, two languages to learn at most and which are very similar, proximity to both oceans, vast mineral and resource wealth, proximity to the U.S. and a straight shot to the EU, both of which are the consumerist blackhole of the world. Mostly culturally homogenous, no major geopolitical or security issues (I don't mean crime, I mean people threatening to invade their neighbors or launching missiles). If Latin America was one country, they would surely make any nation on earth respect it. Then again, that existed and was called the Spanish Empire and people get offended when you mention it.
