Good morning Arnie and Lynn. Always miss you guys when there isn’t a video. Aww. Buddy is a very happy boy. He is not taking any chances of being taken from home again. I agree that moving the air does help. Then the air doesn’t feel so stagnant. It is hard to believe how many people love to criticize and be hateful. When I watched the video I was amazed at how good the sheep looked when they got sheared. Jacob does a phenomenal job with minimal nicks actually an insignificant amount. And how anyone accuses you of not telling the truth is a sign of ignorance. I am so appreciative of the care you give your whole flock with only their well being driving your choices. Well that guy that came up to you for extra pets can be the sheep of the day along with Lambert and Lincoln. I have noticed that limp for quite awhile. That knee may require a total knee replacement. Being a retired surgical nurse I was in many of those procedures. As far as your high blood pressure goes please don’t ignore it. They can find the best medicine for you that won’t make you feel yucky. I don’t want you to have a stroke. I feel like you are a friend and I don’t want something to happen to you that can be avoided. The care you take of your sheep has to be the same good care you give yourself. Blessings to you both. Big hugs always. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thanks Patricia. I am rather stubborn about finding the least invasive solutions to my health problems. I am monitoring my blood pressure and plan on losing weight and eating better and walking more which should help with both problems. 🤞 Last night I ordered a heat massaging red light contraption to put on my knee every day which they say helps increase blood flow and regenerate cartilage. I prefer to start with the things I can control first. If that doesn't help then it will be on to trying different meds and surgery I won't consider until all other avenues have been tried first. But, I will be working on it. My dad had a stroke and I don't want to end up like that! 🥰🥰🥰 I consider you a friend too. Thanks again 🫶

It's hard to get the negative comments. I find it's usually someone who makes wrong assumptions. You are very good at dealing with those in a positive manner. Stick to the facts and go into greater detail to inform them of the truth of the matter. Some days, though, those comments really sting! Morning! I understand Jacob struggling with catching up on a schedule. I was bad a homework as a kid and I remember the anxiety and built up pressure when you get behind. In my thinking, the air quality seems like the biggest factor for those Dorsets that had a bad sheering. When you can’t breathe adds to their high strung nature.

Hi Lynn, Once when we had the 4 H sheep sheared, the shearer sheared off one of the ewe’s teats. That sheep could not be shown. The child who leased her, was devastated. I believe that sheep was culled and we had to get a replacement ewe. The shearer never apologized. I know it was an accident and not done on purpose. When it happened, we had a bloody sheep and an hysterical child. That was an unfortunate shearing. Hope you feel better and that it cools down.

      😢

    • @EwetopiaFarms
      @EwetopiaFarms  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes, accidents like that can happen but unless the shearer is incompetent, it is not their fault and a risk you take in order to keep your sheep clean and healthy. That us why we use regular hoof trimmers rather than the motorized ones. You have more control yet even then, they can kick as you clip and you have a bleeder. Too bad for the sheep having to be culled. I don't know why it couldn't have been shown though. Our ram Snappy was shown with a broken leg - and won! That was an accident too.🙂

Thanks. My shoulder is also a problem and it is probably from lifting too much. I actually do way too much lifting, carrying and catching sheep. Arnie does the really heavy stuff and I have tried delegating more to him because of my shoulder but, being small boned as well, I think I do more than I probably should have for my size 😆. Yes, the BP meds have made me short of breath - maybe because of asthma - so I am hoping to avoid meds if possible or keep trying different types. 🙂

Oh, doing 101 sheep 🐑 on a hot, bad air quality, humid day takes a lot of endurance. The shearing went great. Sheep are so hard to flip into position to shear and nicks are bound to happen when sweat is rolling down your face . And the sheep can’t even scratch their sweaty faces. I’m sure the humidity and air quality affected everybody, including the sheep.🐑🐑🐑
Also, when we see a video, it’s not 3 dimensional. Bothersome when critiques rear their ugly head. Sorry you were given such criticism. 🌸🌺🌸
Welcome to my world of arthritis 😢 I did not invite “Arthur Itis” into my life. He just happened to join my right knee and left shoulder. 😠 I just live with it because not much can be done because insurance doesn’t want me better, unless I have lots of 💰 money 💰
I also have chronic malignant blood pressure. This weather causes many people’s BP to go up.
Sick of taking the meds; but, I don’t want a stroke either. So, I’m really trying a more healthy regimen - adjusting my food intake, getting plenty of fresh water, avoiding processed foods, avoiding high salty foods, getting decent rest, etc. All that does help. I’m taking lower medication doses. And, I avoid brand new meds on the market.
Praying 🙏🏻 for your health. Gets harder as we grow older. I know, oh, so well. ♥️
“As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me get out of bed.
Then I go to see John. (Actually I see John a lot - even at night)
Then Charlie Horse comes along & when he is here, he takes a lot of my time & attention.
When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up & stays the rest of the day. He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint.
After such a busy day, I'm really tired & glad to go to bed with Ben Gay.
What a life! Oh, yes, I'm also flirting with Al Zymer.
Sometimes I think about calling Jack Daniels or Johnny Walker to come and keep me company.
Now remember: Life is like a roll of toilet paper... the closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

oh Lynn, I hope you don't have to have total knee replacement.....You will be down for about 3 mons with that. Hopefully they can give you some steriod shots or maybe even stemcell therapy to help. Osteo arthritis doesn't go away, thats what I had also. If you can support your knee with an elastic sleeve, that can help some with the pain. If you ice it several times a day that helps too,
Listen Lynn, why don't you just delete those comments that you don't like and don't address them..,.people are so dumb sometimes, they think they know everything, geez.
I never dreamed it could get to 104F with humidity in Canada! wow it sounds like you're in the south like me.
