Totally agree with you regarding Oud satin mood! I actually felt sick to my stomach every time I tried it 😢🤮 It's way too powdery and vintage for my taste. I really don't understand why people get mad about a difference of opinions regarding fragrance. Like, it's only perfume, get over it 😂
Wow, I can't believe people were coming at you for not liking a fragrance! I personally can't take how oily and over the top sweet Oud Satin Mood is, but I definitely appreciate the artistry of it. I'm actually curious to see if Oud Silk Mood would sit better with me, but I do tend to have problems with Francis Kurkdjian creations for some reason, so I'm not in a rush.
I am an oud satin mood stan😆 but I get where it might not sit well with others. It is quite sweet and powdery but in the best way possible.😊 Oud silk mood is definitely less sweet and more woody and herbaceous if that makes sense. Still a lovely scent in my opinion.

Hi Hayley, I decluttered Lira as well. And I too do not like gourmands that smell too much like food. Just not my bag. I felt that way about Xerjoff Italica and others in that profile that I no longer own. I love Rouge Malachite though...lots of compliments on that one😊😊
There’s no room for hate in TH-cam’s fragcom. Fragrance is so subjective. I really dislike a lot of people’s favorites, such as Amouage Sunshine, Delina, and many more. I guess I would be hated if I had a channel.
I do regret not keeping at least a 5 ml decant from some bottles I decluttered. Like you said, now I miss some of them …for example Initio Psychedelic Love and also La Danza Delle Libellule!

Feel the exact same way about Lira but every time I sniff the atomizer I’m like “this smells so good” then I never wear it haha. I definitely decluttered Italica though, it smelled way too much like actual food.
So many of the fragrances popular online are very literal interpretations of gourmands, and it's just not my bag. I enjoy gourmand notes, but mostly in more complex blends that don't lean hard into the edible aspect. I also find that people who enjoy edible gourmands tend to describe scents from that perspective as well. I had heard people describe Tiziana Terenzi's Al Contrario as everything from a snickerdoodle cookie to a mug of hot chocolate, so it wasn't on my radar. Then I recently had occasion to smell it, and it didn't read to me as gourmand at all, on the whole (despite having several notes in that category). I fell in love and bought a bottle immediately. tL;dr Some people want to smell like food and some don't, and right now it seems most in the online perfume space do.
I decluttered L'Imperatrice, Bianco Latte, Coco Vanille, Intense Cafe, - those fragrances reacted terribly with my body chemistry to the point of making me nauseous. I would love to see a part 2 of declutter.
I am decluttering your beloved Jardins de Misfah. For me it's lakcing something and the combination of rose, dates and honey doesn't work for me. A part 2 please.
Hello Hayley! I feel the same way about Rouge Malachite, it was a full LOVE when I tested it, but my nose changed when I bought the bottle, thank goodness I just have the small bottle. There are rare occasions when I crave it….I also don’t get along with most tuberose. 😊
I decluttered so many of my favorites from when I was younger - or things I’d sampled and loved from years ago and then found on sale years later and my tastes had changed. Sometimes I still feel guilty about it! But I make a point now to only purchase things I really love now, and that I know I’ll wear all the time. If I remember liking something years earlier I make a point to get a sample again to really decide in the present if I want to purchase it. I remember loving L’Imperatrice when I smelled it at Sephora in college as it was such a different DNA to everything I was smelling. I quickly tired of it because at a certain point all I could smell was banana shampoo and that didn’t feel like me anymore😂 so I decluttered that one too!
I love Lira, I think I’ll wear it today 😄. I love most gourmands. I sell fragrance so I can wear pretty much anything to work, but if I worked in an office, I would stick to clean fragrances.
Super interesting. I’ve just added Rouge Malachite - I’m having a huge white floral moment after years of not wearing them due to skin chemistry. Now my skin has changed and they smell great. I’m nuts for white florals. Just cautious with orange blossom. I am starting to like Oud Satin Mood. I bought a 19ml travel spray. Until a few months ago I found it so sweet it made me nauseous - now ok if only a few sprays. I can’t really tolerate many MFKs and own none (outside the travel spray). Personally I’ve let go several unisex leaning masculine scents as I’m now wearing and loving the more obviously feminine scents. Such as Commes des Garçons Black EDT, Elie Saab Cuir Absolu, Timbuktu, Kenzo L’Elephant, BDK Tubereuse Imperial and YSL Parisienne

I never got along with OSM! I tried and tried but on my skin it was an absolute NO! For the life of me I just can’t understand why someone would be offended that you don’t like a fragrance they like! 😂
What a coincidence. I just looked at my perfume shelf and grabbed Lira (as well as Initio's Psychedelic Love) to declutter. You made me want to think harder on this.
I also let go of Meliora because there was something about the mid notes that didn't sit well with me and that I found cloying. However, the top notes are unbelievably beautiful and they are now resting with a good friend who suits florals. Florals don't work on me. I should have bought Oriana from the get-go, which I love. I'm also in the process of decluttering Shalimar Souffle d'Oranger mainly because I find it to be very far away from the concept of Shalimar. It's a beautiful bottle and limited edition but I can't get on with the scent. I have a bottle of Millesime Iris, but I'm keeping that!

I don't own anything here (and only have Manhattan on my wishlist towards the middle/bottom), but much like you, feel like there's too much fluff sitting on the shelf that I have no use for. Helps knowing that I bought a lot of these pre-COVID price hike, so it would basically free up capital to get something else/newer.
I also sampled and disliked Rouge Malachite, there is something special in it that I feel I must be anosmic to, but that irritates me? I’ve experienced the same with Kilian’s “Voulez-vous.” And yes, there is so much hype for RM, but it just goes to show you that fragrance is super personal! EDIT: I love Jo Malone VR&O, there’s something special about it, it’s cool and sweet. Though there are many rose/ouds that are, shall we say, in the same general family (VR&O, Morhaf, Sehr Al Shaila, Bidun Esam, Awraaq Al Oud, Shaghaf Aoud Aswad, Rose d’Arabie, etc.), I’ve discovered that they do each have a subtly different “mood” and I do enjoy wearing one versus the other depending upon my own current vibe, the occasion, etc.
I believe the reason why people come at you for not liking a fragrance is because they were influenced by social media to purchase that fragrance. Because generally it's common sense for people to know that skin chemistry is a real factor with fragrances. I remember the hype of Feve delicese in 2018. I looked at the note and was drawn to it. Tried it in the store, but didn't get the effect I hoped. In fact it didn't suit me. Due to the hype, I tried again during another season, tired and tried until it then dawned on me that it's not going to work for me. I admired those it worked for but had to under the fact that if it doesn't work, don't force it. Don't give into social media. Have your own mind. After all, we are not all meant to smell the same. Otherwise there is no personality.

I find Nisane Ani to be a lemon cake scent. An easy wear like Lira. I blight bought Malachite, it doesn't wow on my skin at all, don't understand the hype from certain reviewers. Every single time i smell oud satin mood, oud silk mood and oud by MFK, i get a super heavy migraine like headache and it makes my mood bad, no clue why. It isn't because of the oud because i've been using heavy real oud based fragrances and it enjoy them. I guess just oud rose combo doesn't work for me.

At 11:28 I just did the same thing with Xerjoff Symphonium and Xerjoff Elle. I wanted Symphonium but accidentaly ordered Elle becuase both of the Bottles are the SAME. 🙄
I didn’t like lira enough to purchase. Didn’t find it special enough add to my collection. If I had it I’m sure I would have decluttered it too. I have tried rouge malachite and I do like it. Waiting for a sample of magenta tanzanite to see which one to purchase.

I do not like Oud Satin Mood and Silk Mood at all. They are just powdery rose and I do not like to smell like old ladies perfume. I have not smelled on anyone else, so can not speak about sillage. But, yeah, I truly dislike this one.

Feve smelled like a Christmas play dough on my skin and OSM just smelled off with my chemistry, something to do with the jammy rose. I also declutterred Possibilities and God of Fire. I loved Possibilities but both pulled a bit sour on my skin.

I can’t stand the sweetness in Oud Satin Mood on my skin, it almost makes me nauseous 🤢. My man on the other hand loves it and I appreciate it on him.

Devotion by D&G is better than Lira... it's just a hype and beautiful bottle but very boring lemon vanilla 😅
