Lyrics:
We are not your sinners
Our voices are for real
We realised and won't be mourned
We gonna burn your deathmask uniforms
We won't die of devotion
Understand we can never belong
Thrown some acid on the Mona-Lisa's face
Pollute your mineral water
with a strychnine taste
You love us
You love us
You love us
You love us
You love us
You love
Until I see love in statues
Your lessons drill inherited sin
Parliament's a fake life saver
You better wake up and smell the real flavour
You love us like a holocaust
Same P.R. problem as E.S.T.
You love us like a holocaust
Same P.R. problem as E.S.T.
You love us
You love us
You love us
You love us
You love us
You love
SEND MY LOVE TO ALL MANICS FANS OUT THERE 🤩XX.
hearing this in 1992 was a new beginning finding this band, been a fan ever since
This group are going to be around 4 Ever.James Is A Great Guitar player.
Still have this Heavenly Records single with illegal use of DeNiro on the cover. Love this track for the Iggy Pop Lust for Life outro! Blew my mind as a high school boy in Oklahoma looking for my sound.
In memory of Leanne Fullwood. 1968-2021. (Manics, Marilyn and Bilbo's Poem......she loved.) xxxx Sleep well, princess.
Phenomenal band, brilliant albums, thanks to Bigold Pete for sending me here.👍😎🎸🎶
Remember seeing them in Stoke,on the gen terrorist tour... fantastic, and then I won a copy of gen album signed by Ritchie from a local radio quiz... happy days.
Signal radio?
Wow, do you still have it? I’d be guarding that with my life!
Such a fun version always makes me pogo along singing. even though I'm alone in the flat. Scares the shite out of my cat lol
They were so hated and loved at the time. Incomprehensible now but if they came out in 2018 with the same ferocious energy for rock n roll and equality for all...they’ed probably go down pretty well.
But then that statement wouldn’t be as groundbreaking if most were already on point with all that, they clearly wanted to send shockwaves as well as put great music out (which they did), at a time when it would, and did, create that effect. Doing it now wouldn’t raise as many eyebrows
I remember seeing them in the early nineties and they reminded me of the clash but with makeup and until the Richie incident happened no one was sure what they stood for during the very hedonistic daze of rave and Grunge
Nah imagine them releasing repeat. They'd get cancelled for the absolute pussies that are today!
They were not hated at all they were very popular they were everywhere and did very well . 😝
@@felicitytoad Depends on how you look at it, dwd. Design For Life took them further out there but those ‘new’ fans didn’t appreciate the old ones. So, nah, they BECAME loved but were completely ignored until ADFL by the majority despite being on a major label.
Crazy guitar solo!
Penderecki, Magazine and Iggy in the same song. This is why we love them.
Teaaaaaaaa!
This is one of my absolute favourite things ever - I get a big grin for the pure youthful joy of wildness - what beauty 💗💗💗💗
Happy B-Day Richey ♡
Was watching a bit of TOTP 1992 and listening to the guys talking about their TOTP performance and getting started back then. Like the early stuff they put out.
Ah, that brief period where they convinced Sean to wear a Miss Selfridge blouse.
+Murmeltier616 I am somewhat familiar with that photoshoot... 😉
I don't understand why so little views? Generation Terrorists by Manics is a landmark alternative rock album :-)
Agreed but this is a different version than the generation terrorists version
Love , love it.
JDB & Richie looking their rough valley boy best....
1991 Ffs. Saw them by accident in 1989. Then very much on purpose. Not seen them though since 1994!
Love the early punky stuff. Tidy boys.
That's great as I have generation terrorists already but love this version. Glad it's on iTunes. Thanks for info
Right then. They were the only band that mattered. They were the only influence. The only thing that spoke to me. Everything & everyone else paled - sadly this is still the case.
still to this day
Same, then and rhcp are the only bands around now that still speak to me. Jdb loves John frusciante and credits him for helping him write a few songs on guitar which always help me love them more 🫠
Best version.
Its a crime this has so little views!
By far the best version, I loved their heavenly releases, so disappointed by the "generation terrorists" album but I fell back in love with them by "the holy bible" brilliant band
Killer Track
Don’t know why it says 1992 I bought this in 1991 after seeing them, their first album came out in 1992 with the different recording of this song
you love us!
Saw them 4 times with Richey Gr8. Band
finally this video is unblocked in my country
great chorus
Can't believe it was 20 years ago today Richey Edwards disappeared x
Why can't you believe it? Would a pink unicorn galloping past your front door be more believable for you......
So did the band 😎
@@tiehign4187 yes honestly.
Such a better version!
I so glad they've put the Heavenly version on here, it so much better than the Generation terrorist version!
Paying Homage to the gods, Stooges. like it.
Paying homage to the Clash in the song more like and Iggy Pop's solo song Lust For Life in the coda.
OMG. You naughty, naughty boys. Need some help cooling off- I do...
christ
Why is Lust For Life by Iggy Pop at the end of this?
Prob a combination of their love of music like that when growing up, and the irony of darker lyrics ending with ‘Die, die, die’ to the music of a song that’s about living. Maybe their way of showing what they were all about, they love rock and roll but they wanted to keep it real and shock you
I like this version better than the generation terrorists one! Music video is better too. The other one is a little weird.
Their first ever single if I am not mistaken???
+Richard Wilcox Stay Beautiful in August 1991,this may have been out before but it breached the UK Top 20 in February 1992.
Suicide Alley....
Indeed it was 1988!!!
Motown Junk came out in Jan 91 I think. This came out around April or May?
No first single was Suicide Alley
Would love to buy this version if possible?
its on their album generation terrorists but the legacy edition on itunes
A shiny lovely diamond in a back catalogue of sludge infested dross. ♪
Love. The biggest fakest word in the English language. It is a one sided concept designed to manipulate and ultimately destroy. Not Nicky or Richey's words. Mines. Oh and I love the Manics.
you're nervous youre nervous your nerve
The album version sounds far, far better
Still does not beat the Stars and Stripes mix...
This version sucks. Whimpy screaming in the background & drums nowhere to be heard.
"Good track but the drums are shit on this track" - Noel Gallagher lol
kiefer sutherland yeh ....well , he has great drums ...and shit tracks ?
kiefer sutherland
Noel's input is just as overrated and worthless as his music.
Louis Minett Nicky Wire agreed with him tbf
@@tonnaboy10 Yeah, it’s pretty obvious the Manics had NO bloody clue about how to record drums in this era. I never thought I’d say it but the dated, 80s programmed drums on the album sound better than the live drums here, and that’s really saying something because the drums on Generation Terrorists sound fucking terrible.
@@bigbowlowrong4694 Roger Connery is a top drummer though! Sounded like Hal Blaine on Everything Must Go, and you can't sound much better than that.
