the setting of the story is kinda old. In their time, having an imperfect family means that the kid would grow up to be defective. That's why a prestigious school like Eden cannot accept broken or single parent families.
Yeah it's set in like the 60s so prestigious schools could maybe get away with the child have two parents. It's also why Yor is given such a hard time for being single.
Actually Yor is pretty Naive in anything other then her Job as an Assassin. She don't suspect Loid at all. As a Manga reader can't wait to see Yor's relationship with Anya. It's so wholesome!
There's a great moment where Yor's brother who is an overprotective brother looking out for Yor and also can't help but love his niece. Anya trying to cover up both her dad being a spy and mom being assassin from the Secret police brother. Then ask of sudden the Dog is like woof woof and starts helping her. (The dog named Bond can see the future) so it's kindergartner child and a dog working to defuse the situation of a spy, assassin and over protective secret police brother and have a nice family dinner.
You probably already figured it out but the animal noises are hints to what cyphers he needs to use to decode the messages. Last episode it was a cat so it's "c" cypher then here it was either "f" or "t" coz it was a frog or toad.
I think the grocery guy repeated twice because the 1st ribbit is to give Loid a heads up that he’s one of Loid’s agency’s guy. And the 2nd time is to let Loid confirms the cypher to the mission.
The being married thing is the time period issue and war tensions. A very good way for dictators to keep control of a country is to make their citizens distrustful of each other with a reporting system. How can you organize or even speak negatively when just one person could turn everyone in?
I haven't read the manga, but keeping in mind that they live in a world that is in some kind of Cold War era and in a society that values the idea of the classic family a lot, is easier to understand some of the situations they live. Anya is trying to enter a school for priviliged children of the elite that probably cares excessively for its public image, so they want to have children from "perfect" families and a kid with only one parent would not be up to that standard, even if one of the parents passed away (I mean, in some places, 70 years ago, they could deny you access to a school just for the color of your skin, so...). Now, to their society, a woman in her late twenties should be married already or at least be dating someone, for them it'd be weird for a woman to still be single at that age, and with all the Cold War paranoia, some'd think she's single because in reality she's a spy; I bet during the Cold War a lot of people got accussed of being a communist or an american spy for less than that.
The parallels to the Cold War are obvious. Ostania basically has its own version of the Stasi from East Germany (and Westalis is basically West Germany). In East Germany everyone was informing on everyone else to the Stasi, and people would be arrested frequently and disappear, not just for being suspected of spying for the West, but for any kind of disloyalty. People were so afraid of being arrested and killed by the government that they would turn in their own family members lest they be seen as sympathizing with the enemy. People would make stuff up about their personal enemies to make them disappear.
Fun fact, have yall noticed how the end credits rolled while it is stll playing? It is how spy movies and series roll their credits! I guess you learn something new everyday huh

The implication I got was she somehow ended up as an assassin to support/raise her younger brother. It makes sense that she’d hide that from him and encourage him to go down a different path
Yor was chosen to be groomed to be an assassin as she was an orphan who was desperate to provide for her brother Yuri, but with very little legal means to do so because of her age. Yuri wasn't chosen to be an assassin as he is 7 years younger and would require a longer wait before his training to commence as well as he is basically a guarantee that Yor wouldn't ditch them. That being said, without spoiling too much, Yuri doesn't exactly have clean hands either.
"Is she bright or dumb." Yes, and that's part of why she's a great character. Yor Forger can be smart sometimes, very wise/insightful other times, and also rather dense. And on the flipside, Loid is incredibly intelligent but he can also be extraordinarily dense.
One of my favorite tropes is when a couple has a kiss with a massive explosion in the background. If that happens in this series, I would be so happy!! XD

Even the beginning of the opening itself gives me kind of a Pink Panther vibe with the way it’s colored. The country itself seems to be Germany but I can definitely see some things from other central European countries as well as from the US.
Everything about Spy X Family is sooooo good. The family itself is amazing. The side characters such as Franky and others that will be introduced later on are all unique and memorable. The comedy and wholesome moments are meshed together insanely well. It's going to be an amazing watch for sure.

That’s just the way they show her facial expression depending on what the situation is. I think it’s just a way to switch from the comedy wholesome stuff, to the serious action stuff. She’s usually naive and easy going, but gets serious when she has to do her missions.
Nah… if she is, she won’t be thinking about “till her assassin’s work do them apart” during the proposal scene. Not to mention that she also thought about killing everyone at the party to leave no witnesses to tell her brother that she’s single. She definitely knows what she’s doing. But she kept her bloodlust in check and only shows it when she’s given a mission.
Because of the fact that Loid is literally a spy from the opposing country, which would technically make Loid and Yor enemies, I feel like it's still too early for them to safely discover each others' secrets. Even though there's 9 episodes at this point, I feel like it's too early. But I also can't wait for the day when they finally do find out each other's secrets. ^^

"In that little cent," about 80% of the fieldcraft in this show is actually real world or real and in a dramatized fashion. The rest is Anya being a telepath. What Yor does isn't fieldcraft, it's just fun.

Huh, so Episode 2 really did cover just Chapter 2 as well, understandable since Chapter 2 i think is probably the second longest Manga Chapter i ever read with 55 Pages, but now leaves the Question of how many Chapters Episode 3 and any future Episode will cover since Chapter 3 is only 27 Pages and pretty much all of the Chapters from here on out is usually somewhere around 25 Pages, based on the Preview it seems Episode 3 will also only cover Chapter 3, like Episode 1 only covered Chapter 1 and Episode 2 only covered Chapter 2, so that really just leaves any Future Episode after 3 in the dark, at least for now, I really wonder how they intend to cover the rest of the Manga from here on out, i also wonder if any of the Extra Chapters will be covered at some point as well, i can’t wait to find out how they’ve done it.

Probably not. The episode states that Yor is 27 years old, and briefly shows her date of birth as 06 APR 63.

Huh, so Episode 2 really did cover just Chapter 2 as well, understandable since Chapter 2 i think is probably the second longest Manga Chapter i ever read with 55 Pages, but now leaves the Question of how many Chapters Episode 3 and any future Episode will cover since Chapter 3 is only 27 Pages and pretty much all of the Chapters from here on out is usually somewhere around 25 Pages, based on the Preview it seems Episode 3 will also only cover Chapter 3, like Episode 1 only covered Chapter 1 and Episode 2 only covered Chapter 2, so that really just leaves any Future Episode after 3 in the dark, at least for now,
I really wonder how they intend to cover the rest of the Manga from here on out, i also wonder if any of the Extra Chapters will be covered at some point as well, i can’t wait to find out how they’ve done it.
