Bro please keep these commute/road trip videos coming they're my favourite content out there at the moment I'm not even joking. I fly quite a lot to see family in Norway and it's become a tradition to watch a topherdrives road trip and listen to Restless on every flight, altho I watch them all the time even when Im not flying!

I have a 2019 (10th gen). I live in Canada and less than a month after buying it back in February of this year, relocated for work and moved ~4600km across the country (~3000 miles). It was her first real test with me considering we were still getting comfortable with one another. But after the five-day trip, my only takeaway was how much of a dream she was to drive. The shortest day of driving I had was about 7 hours, with the longest being two days of 12 straight hours on the road. Not to mention changing conditions and what was a fully stuffed car with easily an extra ~800-1000 lbs of weight. She was comfortable all the way through, didn't feel heavy at all, the seats were amazing, and don't even get me started on fuel economy. Through various landscapes, (plains all the way to mountains, I averaged ~5 L/100km (~50 MPG). I grew up a Honda kid, but bought myself a Focus ST as my first "project car" when I was 19. Had it FBO and was an absolute blast to drive. Is the Civic an objectively slower car? Yes. Do I miss the ST sometimes? Of course, it was some of the most fun I'd ever had in a car. But my goodness 25-year-old me loves my SI. Sleek, refined, subtle yet with still enough in her to have some fun when you really want to. Feels like I went from your crazy college ex -- lots of fun and keeps you on your toes -- to my settle down phase. I love my Si.

Not having air vents for the rear seats in 2024/5 is still wild and ultra cheap move from the manufacturers.. No USB-C ports, nothing.. this is insane. Is it really that "expensive" to add at least 1 or 2 ports of USB-C to the rear? I mean it's just some cables that they have to get to the rear seats..

Great road trip review! I own this exact spec of the 2025 Civic Si, and my experiences and observations mirror yours. I've put almost 9,000 miles on my Si in less than four months, including an Ohio/Florida round trip that was over 2,000 miles.
For reference, I daily drove a 2024 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback manual for about a year before buying my Si. It was a great car, but I wanted something with a little more power and which handled better. It was also very loud on some road surfaces.
I can confirm Honda did improve the driver assist features, and that the adaptive cruise control does have a more natural feel. Whereas my '24 Hatchback the adaptive cruise felt abrupt, the 2025 has a softer response. But you're right in that it still brakes a little prematurely, even on the middle following distance setting. When I'm getting into traffic, I just turn cruise control off and manage things myself.
You're right about the car being kind of bouncy. It's firm but not harsh. But the Si's sport suspension is definitely bouncy on some road surfaces. My Hatchback's suspension was softer, but the bounciness is well worth the tradeoff for the Si's much better handling. In fact, of the 10 FWD cars I've owned, this Si is the best one. Also, the LSD is great and makes a noticeable difference compared to FWD cars without one.
Most people won't miss the absence of a wireless charger. It barely worked in my 2024 Civic, and when it did work it did a great job of heating up my iPhone and barely charging it. You're really better off just using a cable.
The lack of an interior truck lid handle is annoying, but there is an OEM part available for it. Installation isn't difficult, but it does take a little work. Personally, instead of touching the lip of the trunk to close it, I touch the license plate. It's a light trunk, so it doesn't take much effort to close it.
This is not a quiet car, but it's only really bad on loud road surfaces at highway speeds. The worst I've experienced was some of the freeways in South Caroline and Georgia. But I can say the Si (being a sedan) is a little quieter than the Hatchback.
I'm averaging just under 37 mpg (actual) in mixed driving, though more highway than city, using 91-93 octane most fill-ups. I drive conservatively more often than not, though I do rev the car up more than I did the Hatchback. Fuel economy does suffer over 70 mph. Also, don't trust the car's computer fuel economy figure. I keep close track of fuel economy, and in both the '24 ST Hatchback and the '25 Si, the computer's fuel economy has been 6-7% optimistic.
Summing up, I love my 2025 Civic Si. This is a terrific, very fun, and pretty economical daily driver.

My Co-workers at the time (construction) all thought I was really lame for buying a civic instead of a truck or some V8 Mustang/Camero. but yeah that Civic was a dream haha. very small though.
esp now that Ive driven one, I know how nice they drive and handle compared to Nissans and even my Ford Mustang that I have now. My next car may be another mustang (v8 or whatever they decide to make in the future) or another Honda Civic/Accord.

I feel like I even said in the video that this would upset some people. To a certain extent understandable. If I owned the car I’d likely be running 93 constantly, but the reality of the press cars is that they’re run at the minimum octane level required most of the time.
If anything this provides us with a valuable metric for next time we roadtrip an Si! We can compare regular vs premium and see the difference.

When I got my driver's license in June 1970 one of the first things I did was drive my dad's Datsun 510 to Michigan City just because I had never been there before. I bought a Civic Touring Hybrid back in August and though people compare it to the Si no, it's not the same at all. honestly if it werent for the safety features these cars deserve to be 10k less. They did a great job making them pretty, and the interiors functional and pleasing to use but comfort wise and performance wise these things are a joke, as 3k rpm on the freeway in 2024 is laughable. could be pulling 50mpg easy.... but they too busy diluting their own market already with the hybrid to pay anyone money to have some forethought with their gearing for once.

The RPMs don't affect the fuel economy as much as you think, remember the cvt cars get nearly the same fuel economy. Not to mention my 2013 si gets 32.5 mpg sitting at nearly 4k rpm going 80, the gearing on this car is longer than they have done. Of course this is likely for the benefit of fuel economy, but Honda engines are happier at higher rpms anyway, even if this 1.5t sounds like a generator lol. Also, with inflation in the last 10 years, this car is about as much as my si cost new in 2013, which was 21k.

For the next gen vehicle, Honda can NOT be skimping out on the red for the door panels or the backseats for the 12th gen Civic Si. It needs to be cohesive and carried over to make it stand out and look the part.
No more of this 1 map pocket for the bucket seats. Both seats should have map pockets in the back.
The Hyundai Elantra N, while it too doesn't have rear seat air vents, at least it gives you USB charging connectivity.
It's time to make those Si bucket seats leather or at least leatherette with cooled seat functionality and an adjustable headrest. I don't care if the seats stay manual adjusting, but heated seats only in the sunbelt states Florida to California and over water in Hawaii is useless and unnecessary. I'd happily take the addition of cooled seats if the Si sport bucket seats get a redesign and leather material to make it happen.

So am I. I'm going to wait for the final model year since the 2026MY would technically make it the Civic Si its 40th anniversary by the car's model year.
Whether Honda decides to do something truly special as a send-off for the 11th gen Civic Si or not is yet to be determined by Honda themselves. If it's nothing spectacular, at least give us a 1 model year color to close the 11th gen with Boost Blue from the FK8 Civic Type R and FL5 Civic Type R for the 2026MY Civic Si 40th Anniversary Special Edition Car and if only if this is going to be the last time for the 1.5T engine before the next gen (12th gen) Civic Si, I would like Honda to crank up the boost, horsepower, and torque on the car the way it should've been. At least 20-25hp and 28-33lb-ft of tq just for good measure.
If they don't, it isn't that big of a deal and not a deal killer to me. I'll still get one just to get out of my 2017 Chevrolet SS Sedan because my car has turned into a money pit and is no longer sustainable for me. I have had my time and fun with it, but it's gotten problematic putting in parts after parts and it's like Chevrolet techs don't ever know what's wrong with a bone stock car these days.
I'm tired of naturally aspirated V8s. I want to try some forced induction turbocharged 4-cylinder fun for a change.

I previously owned an '18 SI I bought new that I treated very well, always did oil changes early, mostly drove highway miles, and the engine developed SEVERE gas dilution around 77k and Honda refused to help fix the problem. My brother-in-law also had a new '17 SI that blew the engine at 62k (fortunately for him Honda covered 90% of the cost of replacing the engine). Stay away the Honda 1.5T!!!!

@@chrish8487 oh okay, here in Europe buying is 1.5 Civic is quite costly that's why 1.0 3 cylinder is which gets sold, and I always found it interesting why in USA the 95 isn't the norm like it's in other countries, it's costly but it's worth the money.

To be honest, it’s not good put the 87 on the si because the car gonna run horrible it’s good to put the 91 or the 93 on the SI. I have a 2023 SI. It’s just better to fork over the extra money to put the better gas on that car. Because you want that turbo to run smooth. And you can really tell the difference if you put the better gas in the SI.
