A good rule of thumb is the farther from Hwy 99 you are and the closer you are to the Sound, the better the neighborhoods. This isn't always the case, but the exceptions are few.
West Seattle is the brilliant red-haired step child of Seattle - it comes along with a heavy dose of traffic, congestions, closures and detours. The current West Seattle bridge born in the mid-1980s has been closed since March of 2020. The lower West Seattle bridge is also closed from 5AM to 9PM to non-commercial traffic. So it's West Marginal Way for YOU the average joe if you live in the redhead part of the city. West Seattle highlights include the Admiral Metropolitan Market and of course that iconic western sunset through Douglas firs viewpoint.
the hidden pearl in Bellevue is Phantom Lake...Even locals are not aware of its presence probably because not visible and only two narrow public accesses...
He left out the entire east side of Seattle .. central district and Leschi are amazing, have great schools, are super diverse and close to Bellevue and Downtown. Perfect location
Kenmore is mad underrated and changing fast. I moved there about four years ago and it had a hella nice like small town feel, it’s “downtown” is definitely growing tho there’s mad apartments and townhouses popping up over there. Only about 25 minutes from the city with mad parks and right on the lake you cannot go wrong w dat shit it’s super peaceful 2
As a person who lived and worked downtown Seattle until 2019, I can tell you the best place to live is not anywhere around Seattle.... I'm not kidding, it's not a joke, I'm dead serious.. if you want to see thousands of homeless people, trash, feces, people shooting heroin and smoking meth all over the city now, then be my guest.. they will clean up an area for a short time, then it just happens all over again. They do nothing to actually solve the problems.. violent crime has skyrocketed beyond belief, the number 1 city in property crime, the number 3 city in auto theft. Gang activity, vandalism and looting are simply out of control.. the area is extremely overpriced, overvalued and way overrated!!
Real. If you want the beautiful PNW type areas, north of Seattle is the move. Mountains, trees, lakes, basically everything Seattle doesn't have, plus no homeless tents.
@@SellingSeattle you’re wrong Seattle isn’t affordable, even with the rising cost of buying a house Seattle is 49% higher than the national average.. basically the only people who can afford to buy and afford a house is if you’re well off and if not good luck rooming up with people to buy that 600k+ house/condo!
Most of the areas named are not even in Seattle (West Seattle, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Issaquah and Sammamish).... it's like saying, 'Hey want to live in Manhattan NY? Check Out Yonkers!'
Hi Ben, I own a business in West Seattle and have recently sold one of my homes in West Seattle, when I speak to clients that are looking to relocate to the Seattle area from other states & countries it is proper to use the word seattle. Hopefully this was helpful, the world is very big my friend 👊
I’ll break it down in a simple way for anyone that watches this later and some things this video missed. Think of this as an update for 2022. I lived here for 29 years. Bothell = New rich money Mill Creek = Old money Lake Stevens = Starting to get wealthy Woodinville = Old money Redmond = Old money Kirkland = Super rich Bellevue = Always been rich Issaquah = Rich Sammamish = Super rich Mercer Island = Richest of them all Seattle = Runaway Everett = Stay away Marysville = Hide your belongings (unless you live in East Sunnyside) And anywhere near or south of Seattle like Auburn, Felony Way, Tacompton, Des Moines, Kent, Tukwila, Burien, Puyallup, Lakewood, Renton (some parts of it) and West Seattle just stay away from. I’m sure I’m missing a few more cities but you get the idea. The ONLY city in the south that I would live in is Bonney Lake. Especially if you live in Tehaleh community. Not many people know about this hidden gem but it’s starting to get expensive there. Do your research and you’ll find out.
Nobody hangs out at Alki, they're shootings t weekly now. One of my favorite spots in Seattle was the bamboo bar and grill right there on alki Beach , I don't even go in to Seattle anymore
Will the new downtown city park get overrun with tents and homeless population? The city hasn’t done anything about the Green Lake issues to my knowledge.
@@SellingSeattle ...but it's not IN Seattle, which is why I find it misleading. I just think of friends who aren't from the area and wouldn't get that it's a completely different city. 206 vs 425...a complete lake apart. In fact, they dont even touch. Regardless, I appreciate this informative video as someone who grew up in Seattle (Mainly Madrona) and has lived on the East Coast and Europe for the past 15 years+, but looking to move back and realize the neighborhood/housing market has changed Drastically! 🙂 Thank you for all the information!!
@@SellingSeattle May I have your contact info please? I’m moving our family to Seattle/Bellevue area first week of September and need help finding a place. Thanks!
all of those areas are nice but insanely expensive. "Affordable housing...Hilarious". Traffic on all of those is horrendous. Beautiful for those who can afford it anymore.
Dont live in downtown Seattle. Downtown Seattle has a huge homeless population. People who live in downtown Seattle have homeless tents at their front door.
@@SellingSeattle that’s true, I’ll admit while I was up in Seattle there was some nice things to do to around the city, but my partner and I had a lot of bad experiences up there as well :( so that’s also why we’re a tad bit bitter about the city, but everyone experiences it differently as well haha
Yes you will always find pros and cons. I have a couple things I wish were different but it is far outweighed by the clean air, safety, scenery and prosperity.
I love how he talks about 2-3ML homes being normal there lol 😂 bro I got like $1700 bucks to my name. That being said I would love to move to Seattle man how do people afford these houses etc. 🤷🏼♂️ how do I come up ? How do I make serious money can someone help me.
I'm excited you're on youtube. I would recommend listening to Tony Robbins 👊 TH-cam has leveled the playing field for all of us, endless knowledge right in the palm of our hands. I wish you great success 💞

Phantom Lake is beautiful. Our most recent video features Phantom Lake.
Great editing
Thank you👊
Hoping to hear about Ballard; will be moving there soon
we are currently working on a Kirkland video. We will put Ballard on the schedule
@@SellingSeattle be sure to cover the bridge that goes straight from Kirkland to Ballard no toll

Cross the pond to the east or South by 1 mile and you will rarely find a locked door.
Bellevue, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Redmond, etc are not "neighborhoods" of Seattle.
The Seattle greater encompasses a 16 radius
@@SellingSeattle You hardly discuss Seattle itself lol
I live in Mill Creek. Love it 💜
👍
Affordable housing!? Youre kidding right?
Seattle is so affordable 👍 we are blessed to live in America.

Are you looking for an apartment here in Seattle only or there's other city from Washington you prefer?
I’m still waiting on a video about Enatai I’ll be moving there in another month
We are currently working on a few videos but we will get to that one soon
I can't believe he said affordable places to live in West Seattle! Nothing's really affordable in the Seattle area 😂😂😂
Housing prices have climbed quite rapidly over the last two years
The condo prices are around the same prices as the condos in Vancouver BC downtown area ,Vancouver maybe a bit more ,
thnx for sharing 👍
like very beautiful from okinawa

What happened to North Lynnwood!

Being from another country I say Kirkland waterfront
Kirkland waterfront is such an amazing place to live

will look into that! thanks for watching

Bothell = New rich money
Mill Creek = Old money
Lake Stevens = Starting to get wealthy
Woodinville = Old money
Redmond = Old money
Kirkland = Super rich
Bellevue = Always been rich
Issaquah = Rich
Sammamish = Super rich
Mercer Island = Richest of them all
Seattle = Runaway
Everett = Stay away
Marysville = Hide your belongings (unless you live in East Sunnyside)

Don't forget Medina 🤑
I remember when Issaquah was the edge of the boonies.
could u also label Madison park and Montlake? lol
Felony way 😆 I've always lived in South king county including Federal way but your description of King Pierce and Snohomish counties is spot on
How about Ravena district, a 100 year old home?
You have one available?
@@eloyzamora4461 no, asking about the area ... what it looks like?

What about retirees that want to Live in the Seattle area?
There are several communities in the Puget sound for 55 years and above. I personally favor the San Juan Islands, Ocean shores or Cle elum.
I'm a retiree after living and working in downtown seattle, and I left and the best thing you can do is never even consider that freaking s*** hole!!
I've lived in Bellevue for over 35 years, I absolutely love it, I rarely need to cross the pond to Seattle 😉
Will the new downtown city park get overrun with tents and homeless population? The city hasn’t done anything about the Green Lake issues to my knowledge.
gotta hope for the best 🤞
A little misleading to group Bellevue with Seattle in the beginning...

Stop moving here!We are full.
