Brandon Poirier-Blair I have to listen to this theme just to spend money in the eshop because the new themes are crap and I only get free shit when they're on. Believe me I have $21.08 just sitting in the eshop.
My Nana would take me and my sister every week to Walmart with 5 dollars to spend. When the 3DS came out, I started saving up. July of 2012, my PaPa passed away. One day not long after, I was at my Nana’s house and my dad said PaPa had left behind a gift for me. He brought a black 3DS from behind his back, and that night was the night my love for Nintendo was cemented into my mind. Both Nana and PaPa are gone now, but I will never forget the joy I experienced that day and years to come. Thank you Nintendo, for bringing my past self joy I can look back on and smile about now.
This is it. The last day before the eshop closes. I’ve had a 3Ds for so long, going through updates on the model and new games, growing up with it. I bought a lot of games for it today before it shuts down for good. Little me would be happy I can finally buy these games I wanted. I remember listening to this song all the time, looking through the shop and hoping one day I can own all these games. Like a kid looking through the window of a candy store, I wanted it all. Now, hearing this song for the last time, I realized how lucky I was to have any games at all. This system was my childhood, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you, eshop. Thank you.
I agree with you there man. I got an all red 3DS the year it came out back in 2011 for Christmas. The good ol days of being fascinated by the Virtual Console and the Internet Browser. Watching endless game videos and playing 3 use demos. It’s funny, just like with you, I’m sure 10 year old me would be ecstatic if he saw all the games I managed to snag. I’ll never forget my years with the Nintendo 3DS. It will forever hold a very special place in my heart as my introduction into my real formative years of gaming. I’ll always love the time I spent with it. Goodbye EShop, thanks for all the memories. You will be missed. 2011-2023 Thank You.

How sad I am. I remember standing in a mall, looking at a gamestop with a metal gate pulled down over the front. Probably 200 people waiting in a line behind me and my mom. I was 7, and was so happy to upgrade from my DS Lite. An example employee unlocked the gate, with a metal clanking noise as it rose. I ran up to the desk, and my mother told him our pre order info. I saw my blue 3ds in it's box. And I picked it up and hugged it. I remember choosing the wrong pokemon game because of the name and the legendarie's colors. I was playing it at lunch, and I loved my ds for years to come. Now, today, I'm selling my New Nintendo 3DS on eBay. I didn't use it much anymore, content with my PC lifestyle. But when I was dusting the house, I noticed something under the fridge in our messy basement. Yoshi's Island DS, my first ever Nintendo game. Found after all these years. It's now framed on my wall, and every day, I read news on the Switch. I love you Nintendo, and I will never forget you.

I was 11 at the time, and now I'm almost 17.... Just thinking about that makes me sad, how long ago it was, and all the good times I had back then. I eventually lost that 3DS but I still have my copy of 3D Land, and I later bought a red 3DS XL, and I don't see myself leaving it anytime in the future.

Why are the old good times leaving us that fast ? I remember spending hours and hours watching videos, downloading demos and texting my friends almost everyday using the letterbox on it when I was 13... My father gifted that 3DS to me for my birthday... Today, the letterbox has been suspended by Nintendo, good games stopped being released on the 3ds, my friends stopped using the console (didn't see some of them since a very long moment now) and my father is gone...

@@antagonisingbison287 Can't argue with that but its unfortunate the DS era is coming to an end. Time really flies. Nintendo has changed in so many ways its almost unrecognizable who they are now compared to a decade ago
Through the window of Flipnote Hatena, the DSi introduced me to internet culture. Right before the service ended, I found my favorite show through it. It was the console I played my first Pokemon game on. I took pictures and recorded a couple funny audio clips with my long-gone elementary school friends. I loved this console. I hate that these memories are getting fuzzier as time goes on. Somewhere down the line I had to trade in my DSi to get a newer console. If I had more money back then, I would never have traded it in at all, or my older GBA and DS stuff. So it kind of hurts when people say its a forgettable console and brush it off as 'just a predecessor' to the 3DS.

Fast forward to 9 years later, I now have every game I marked on my wish list, personally I'm proud of this feat because I was able to get things I thought that I would never get in a thousand years. nope, 3ds is not dead yet, the hacker community is still active and online is not yet dead. But since they have already closed the eshop in Latin America, I think Nintendo will slowly kill it.
Wasn't that the video series thing Nintendo made on the eshop to announce shed spotlight on upcoming and give tips and tricks similar to Nintendo power?

reading all of these comments makes me so sad. i loved my 3ds so much. i had very fond memories of taking mine to my grandparents house and being told to leave it in the other room while we were at dinner. i was glued to my 3ds. i fondly remember playing every indie game or virtual console i could find on the eshop that peaked my interest. i miss this nintendo so much. please give the switch something like this that the younger generation in the future will remember like we remembered this.

same here bro
I just heard this a couple of weeks ago but they removed it
+THE ULTIMATE THAD they should put this in the new smash bros
Hear this after the eshop closes makes me cry
Sucks that the 3ds is discontinued
It's still usable, and all online services are still up. So not dead by a mile. MK7, Pokemon, and Smash are all still very active.
I bought my ds back when I was about 7 or 8 and I still have it now but its chewed up because my little brother was young and he thought it was food wich is sad cause the screens scratched and chewed up

Still have mine, has some defects but works flawlessly
so peaceful... i just want this theme to bring it back
I know how to
Go into settings
Select data management
Select extra data
Select Nintendo Eshop and tap delete extra data
Want this theme back?
1) Go to "System Settings"
2) Go to "Data Management"
3) Go to "Nintendo 3DS"
4) Lastly, go to "Extra Data"
5) Look for "Nintendo eShop" and then delete it.
No games or important data will be lost, aside from the new eShop theme they put on the eShop.
Now the original music is back. Hope I reinvigorated your eShop experience for those that missed this song.

stupid switch
Well, I think it is supposed to represent rushing in a shop to get something that has the last, for example, twix bar in stock.
I'm so sorry for your loss :(( but at least you created some precious memories and we can share them together with this calm soundtrack man.

Ah...these was some of the best days a kid could've asked for. I always plugged in my headphones just to listen to this on the Eshop before. Heck I fell asleep just listening to this.

You know, when I got the 3DS, I forgot the DSi was even a thing
I forgot about the DS line of Nintendo handheld hardware until I got the 3DS! Always had a Gameboy Advance SP!
BlueGreyWolf I feel so sorry fr u the DS was probably the best thing every child wanted
@@Marshtard if you have more money now, what is stopping you from buying one? If there isn't anything, why hold back? Make memories again, and remember the old ones.

Man, I remember when I was 7 browsing the Eshop getting demos ,free stuff, and putting games on my Wishlist because I couldn't afford any games. Fast forward to 9 years later, I now have every game I marked on my wish list, personally I'm proud of this feat because I was able to get things I thought that I would never get in a thousand years. I know this has nothing to do with this but man time goes by too damn fast.

and this still brings ppl nostalgia

Its not dead necessarily just no new games
Ignore what i said im dumb
nope, 3ds is not dead yet, the hacker community is still active and online is not yet dead.
But since they have already closed the eshop in Latin America, I think Nintendo will slowly kill it.
the 3DS is officially discontinued now
This brings me back to that fucking Nintendo Show 3D. It wasn't that long ago, but it's so strangely nostalgic. I want it back. :(
Wasn't that the video series thing Nintendo made on the eshop to announce shed spotlight on upcoming and give tips and tricks similar to Nintendo power?
