    19 years ago..... Think how much tech, safety and camerawork have moved on. And Hugo - you look so young!!
    Surely it’s about time the industry revisited this with a focus on green issues, fuel consumption, lighter footprint and family fun?
    The endurance is good, but it becomes very blokey and can intimidate the family newcomers.

      "focus on green issues, fuel consumption, lighter footprint and family fun"
      Yeah let's completely RUIN it by taking all the fun out of it, maybe add some bitchy gfs to the deal. Now that's progressive thinking!

      @@deeplyclosetedindividual I know right? There's always one simp wanting to suck the life out of everything. Jeez. For extra brownie points we should make it vegan, with electric motors powered by solar. Well done guys. 👏👏👏👏👏 I'm retiring soon and I'm transfixed with buying a Rib and circumnavigating Ireland and further afield later on, at a much more leisurely pace. Is it common for outboard motors to cause so many problems? I would have thought that they were designed to take some punishment.

    • @bigglyguy8429
      @bigglyguy8429 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you go for a simple 2 stroke they tend to be very reliable. The big issue here seems (to me) that they're hammering the heck out of them. Going slower and with shorter legs should be much easier. I can see the fun and excitement of whacking along so fast, and you need to punch through some rough water but this looks more like a race than a circumnavigation to me ;)

      @@tomthegoat5139 I'm retiring this week, thanks for asking. I'm currently searching for a 5m Rib with all the extras. I've been downloading and studying the islands of Ireland. I want to be able to beach my boat and explore 1-2 days on each island. I'll move on to sailing when I get the experience. I'm not looking to become a 'sailor', I just want to satisfy the need of the sea's calling. Ill sell the boat when ive done what I have to do. Good luck on your new rig.
