    Hello DrAstro
I have bought this Delos 10mm eyepiece, but I find it very difficult to place the eye precisely and to keep the eye at the right place. Even micro movements or when I try to look around only moving my eyeball, I then get black spots. Also the distance from the eye to the eyepiece must be very precise and it is impossible to get it right more than a few seconds at a time. My €100 TS-Optics 60 degrees AFOV 18mm and 5mm are easier to use. By the way my telescope is an 8" f/5 newtonian.
This is my first time towards wider AFOV and more expensive eyepieces. What is the reason it is this difficult using the Delos? Is it because the wider AFOV or the high magnification or a combo?
I hope to learn something :)
    Cheers :)

I was comparing the 10mm Delos and Pentax XW last night and found the same result. Beside that Pentax shows details sharper. I think a 50 to 60 degrees eyepiece is perfect for comfortable viewing. I use my simple Plossl Meade eyepieces a lot, beside some other Chinese ones like BST Starguider and SVBONY 3-8 mm zoom. Yhey are also much lighter and less risky to handle.

      @@TheAstronomer Thanks.
So is it eyepieces with wide AFOV in general that are difficult to use? Or just some specific ones?

Not difficult to use, but just heavier. I only use 100 degree eyepieces for large dobsonians. In my experience, Pentax XWs are the best and most comfortable to use.

@@TheAstronomer Also for low focal lenght eyepieces?

Oh, I meant in low focal lenghts. I use only Pentax XW in 3.5, 5, 7 and 10mm which are the best in its range. For more than that I use any plossl or mostly just the Televue Nagler 31mm which is the best eyepiece Televue has produced other than its plossls.

150 bargain. Very nice eyepiece. I got mine 2nd hand with rubber eyeguard perished - very dirty and sticky even after cleaning so I bought another eyeguard from FLO, now it's like new.

It is a good eyepiece to have for a telescope with robust mount. I am more comfortable with a smaller BST Starguider ED 8mm on my refractors.
