I first heard of Banda Aceh because of the 2004 Tsunami..it looks better now after the devastation two decades ago..appreciate Jason for always showcasing these rehabilitated places..🍺
Wow Jason, I can see now what I missed back in the 90's. This is the kind of place that travellers like you will discover just because you are willing to go outside the beaten path. So nostalgic to look back and thinking about times with these "higher than expectation"-experiences. 🙂
Hi... nice to meet you, I'm a resident of Aceh and I just came back from Sabang last year... I'm very happy and proud because you want to cover such a beautiful place...😊
Hi Jason! i must tell you that my boyfriend and I love the way that you capture and romanticize the beauty of the landscapes that you are surrounded by. Your appreciation for the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises, beautiful skies, waters, civilizations, and architecture. It's beautifully done and such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing! Much love from Winnipeg, Canada! P.S. We especially love your Egypt and Algeria vlogs, we have watched them multiple times.
Hey, thank you for the nice words! It’s nice to hear that you like the style and take interest in the same things I’m passionate about sharing. Safe travels!
Hopefully you can also go to my city, namely Lhokseumawe in Aceh😁 it would be good if you wrote translations in each of your videos so that everyone can better understand what you are saying
I advise you to stay in the bungalows in the Iboih area, because there are snorkeling facilities there. There it is busier, more beautiful, and suitable for enjoying the night view on the beach😁😁😁
Nice one Jason I haven't been to Weh for around 20 years. Some nice diving up on the north coast and there used to be a great Chinese family restaurant in Sabang town that only sold one dish " Mie Kocok" and it was delicious. Always full too. Enjoy and hope you make it down to Bukit Lawang and Lake Toba
You are so correct on sunsets. I live in the mtns of Western North Carolina (U.S.A.) and my deck faces the sunset each day. The most cloudy and rainy of days can bring on a beautiful sunset and a beautiful sunny day can bring on a mundane and very uneventful sunset.💯🎯✅👍🙌
ím watching all your Videos from Sumatra now because i‘m planning a long trip to this island end of the year. I know it‘s the rainy season in December and January but i want to travel Sumatra at this time. Can you recommend it during the rainy season?
Hello Jason..welcome to Weh Island, Sabang , Aceh Province, Indonesia. Enjoy the beauty of Titik O Kilometer (zero kilometre point). Thanks so much for visiting Tropical Indonesia with its spicy dishes 😅😅 take care..
That sunset view..... magnificent...😮 I've been to Lombok Indonesia two weeks ago for 6 days vacation. Looking forward also to visit medan and Aceh soon. Very informative video. Kudos.
I’ve been to Siem Reap - I have a series of videos from Cambodia actually (albeit a bit older now). It’s an interesting place where the weird and wonderful all come together in a touristy and bold way because of the obvious attraction nearby. Loud bars and street food bugs. Not sure if I love it.
Indonesia seems so friendly, calm and relaxing. Jason, thank you for your videos with a lot of real sound of cities and nature. I have watched absolutely all of your videos from all of the countries you visited. It's really enjoying to follow your channel
Even in stricter Muslim countries, hijab is not compulsory for western ladies as long as they wear modest dress. The local courts here in USA have disallowed tank tops, sleeveless shirts, yoga paints and and no hats for men and many restaurants would not serve you if you do not have ‘shoes and shirts’.
Tiger only in aceh sumatra mainland, and aceh province is one of the least criminal province in indonesia right now, so no worry. Call 112 for emergency.
@@IDMarketer I have cousins and family in Pakistan and their emergency response is horrible - you are better off just suffering than to have Pak police help you LOL
It’s worth it in my opinion. The bungalow is very spacious, the views are unbelievable, and you’d pay that price for just a hostel bed in many countries like Japan or Western Europe for example.

It's so beautiful, I wish I was there. it's a nice place to escape the noise

It was certainly worth going up to Aceh to find this island!

Very fascinating to learn/see so much about such very unique places in this world! You're a very fortunate person Jason!
Glad to hear it. Yeah, I’ve been lucky to see and experience so many beautiful places since I’ve been doing TH-cam.
The scenery is so beautiful especially during the sun goes down
Hey there Jason. Such a peaceful place. And a beautiful sunset.
I could hear the birds and bugs. Enjoy your peaceful surroundings 18:41
I bet you have a very strict skin regime. Bro you always glowin 😂
This brings back memories 😊 did the same trip in 2019. After arriving had to wait almost an hour to get a taxi to the hotel 😂 part of the fun.
What I find fascinating about your Aceh travelog is that, as a foreigner, you didn't get ripped off with inflated 'tourist price' on anything...🤯🤯🤯
That face when telling us your seatnumber😂
Hopefully you can also go to my city, namely Lhokseumawe in Aceh😁 it would be good if you wrote translations in each of your videos so that everyone can better understand what you are saying

Definitely going to hit those two places!

This video is very informative, even for me who comes from Banda Aceh 😊
You should go to Bukittinggi, West Sumatra
I’d love to, so many places to see in Sumatra.
Seems you stayed not in the tourist popular spots of Weh island

Glad you agree!
Jason you certainly were an exotic appearance on that ferry 🙂....so great you brought us to this place !!
As far as I saw I was the only foreigner on there

Honestly, I can. It wasn’t that bad for me.
Another wonderful video. Thanks for sharing places that we will never be able to visit!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Fantastic places! How many wonderful inspirations for our relaxing video screensavers.
Thanks for u show of Sabang island of Weh. Nex time you can go to Singapore to Tioman Island by Ferry. Be ware be happy!
After watching two of your own videos I immediately subscribed to your channel
Nice 👍
Thank you Jason for making a video in my village, guys...if you want to visit, please let me know. I will be happy to help 🥰
wow, just an amazing view sunset, can't wait to watch your more videos traveling around Sumatra, Java, and Bali, regards from Semarang Central Java
you travel like local people by ferry, that's what we do to get from one place to another in Indonesia. 😀👍👍👍
As an Acehnese (even though I don't have Acehnese blood) I want to see Weh Island develop even more rapidly
When the tsunami occurred in Aceh, Pulau Weh was only slightly affected so I can still breathe a sigh of relief to this day
Beautiful sunset. And thanks for the great tsunami tip! I live in an area which is vulnerable to that type of occurrence.
I think hotel at sumur tiga beach hv a more best view, and near to sabang city, try octopus skewers, noodle aceh
I heard about the volcano eruption elsewhere on Sumatra. Stay safe!
You make some great content about places, transport and nature, Jason but it would be great to see you engage with the locals a bit more.
The Bungalow is AWESOME !!! aw man I wish I was there !
terimakasih kawan sudah berkunjung ke Aceh salam dari aceh🙏🙏
If you see a tsunami coming, you need to get high 😃I'll keep it in mind
Terimakasih sudah berkunjung ke sabang Aceh jasoen❤
Enjoy my Homeland Sumatra from north to south my friend 👍😄
Well done to explain, such a peaceful getaway island.

It was beautiful. I’ve still not been to Lombok!
Amazing sunset view. ❤❤

So peaceful
If a western female like me travelled to Banda Aceh would I have to wear a hijab?
You can wear loose clothes but not bikini. Modest cloth only
Even in stricter Muslim countries, hijab is not compulsory for western ladies as long as they wear modest dress. The local courts here in USA have disallowed tank tops, sleeveless shirts, yoga paints and and no hats for men and many restaurants would not serve you if you do not have ‘shoes and shirts’.
Wait a second no tigers in that jungle? I would be so scared by myself on that lonely road - do they have 911 or emergency police nearby ?
Tiger only in aceh sumatra mainland, and aceh province is one of the least criminal province in indonesia right now, so no worry.
Call 112 for emergency.
@@IDMarketer I have cousins and family in Pakistan and their emergency response is horrible - you are better off just suffering than to have Pak police help you LOL
@@princeali2555 idk how the PAK situation thought, but i think indonesia emergency response is good but not the best
@@princeali2555unfortunately that is the situation in most of the global south countries.

💖👍👍👍👍👍
❤❤💯💯👏👏👍👍
Over 25 quid a night! they don't take any prisoners!, 5 quid for a 30 minute taxi, there is a big problem with this place.
It’s worth it in my opinion. The bungalow is very spacious, the views are unbelievable, and you’d pay that price for just a hostel bed in many countries like Japan or Western Europe for example.
@@JasonBillamTravel Bit pricey by Indonesian standards though.
I will meet u if u come Singapore 😊
Come Singapore bro ❤
he's been there already.
Jason I have been your fan since you came to Bangladesh.5 years ago🇧🇩
