@@bentilley5412nope. It’s a now fact real human and animal bones were and still are used today in film and tv productions as it’s cheaper to use real human bones than to make prop ones. Shared before I watched, because I just assumed it would be good. I was not disappointed. Again, a bunch of stuff I didn't know. And I used to be one of my area's foremost authorities on the show. Looks like I've got some homework. Thanks for the video.

While we're on the subject of curses: Revenge Of The Cybermen. Filmed in Wookey Hole, which is believed to be the site of a longstanding witches curse. The production was littered with equipment faliures and accidents, even if one accounts for a difficult filming environment. At one point, a boat crash nearly killed Elizabeth Sladen. The director's wife found had some arrowheads in an early scouting trip and took them for a souveneer. He later replaced them, after which production ran smoothly.
What is even more terrifying about Sky is before she was afraid she was a tough as nails kind of woman you could just sense that nothing fazes that was until she met what introduced by that thing.
Black Orchid is a bit of an oddity. It's not really a "pure historical" Doctor Who story (like The Romans, Crusaders or Highlanders), because none of the places, characters or events ever existed or happened. It's just a generic murder mystery featuring the TARDIS team, which happened to be set in 1920s upper-class England, when it could have been set at just about any point in history from the 19th Century onwards.
To be fair there's been lots of moments in doctor who that have terrified me! 😂 The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances absolutely terrified me and The Waters of Mars, they're the only episodes I've never been able to rewatch! 😂 I remember being really freaked out watching the moment in The Impossible Planet when toby's skin gets covered in the alien writing and his eyes turn red, but rewatching this two parter as an adult I don't find it as bad and actually quite enjoy them! Midnight was creepy but such a cleverly written episode and Wild Blue Yonder is a similar episode story wise! The parts in The Doctor's Wife where the alien entity house messes with amy and rory in the tardis by showing amy an older version of rory who hates her was quite horrific! After watching the weeping angels and the vashda nerada I've never been able to look at statues or shadows in the same way! 😂 Dark Water and Death in Heaven were quite dark and difficult to watch, especially during the mentions of the deceased being conscious and able to feel their own cremations! 😮 But I think overall the scares on doctor who make it even more fun to watch! Thanks Who Culture! 😊😊
Margam castle is a 20 min walk from my house! I’ve heard lots of stories about ghosts there. They’ve filmed lots of doctor who, torchwood and Sarah Jane adventures there!
I spent many an hour wandering around there as a kid. Lived near Porthcawl (you'll probably guess the village on the way). Spent Xmas Eve at a midnight mass, much to the annoyance of the vicar of my church where I was a chorister. My church is next to the Angel. Great place for us older singers to wet our whistles between weddings - there were often 2 in the summer and we got paid £1 for each one! This was in the early '80s, so the first wedding got us a pint and we sang more lustily in the second 😂😂😂! We're lucky to have such a beautiful place in our lives. Since my parents passed, I have no reason to return, and it'd be a bit too painful anyway, but I have wonderful memories. Mam absolutely loved the Castle.
Nice list, but for my own I’d put Revenge of the Cybermen from 1975 at the top! That’s the one shot in the cursed Wookey Hole location, with an accident almost killing Elisabeth Sladen!
controversial but i really dont like disney taking over Doctor Who. Yes it funds Doctor Who to make bigger and better episodes but i fear Disney is going to buy Doctor who from the BBC and make the episodes really bad
What would terrify ME were to be in the same room as Ellie and Jenna Coleman at the same time. 2 of the most beautiful human beings in existence. I would freak the fk out! 😲
While I’ll likely easily forget this detail and it doesn’t really bother me I can’t see how Midnight is any more terrifying knowing a character who died would have likely died anyway as if anything it makes her death less impactful. It’s in a way more depressing but it’s not more terrifying.
Hi, I’m a big fan but Elle used the term “Chinese Whispers” in a previous video. I get that it’s a game kids play but could you refrain from using it again. I am Chinese. The term is pretty racist and it really hurt me.
oh! gosh, it was yettis will get you! that was the nightmare fuel to my childhood. i am far too young to have seen that, tom was the doctor when i was born, but i swear i vaugly remember him despite being pre school
People may laugh and mock one when you bring up the supernatural, but given I heard disembodied voices talking and laughing in a hospital and had a light stand move to block a door I had just walked through, I know where I, erm, stand(?), on the matter. Would love to go somewhere with a strong reputation for haunting though. I wonder if Margam Castle accepts guests?
actually... thinking about it. If we had realized that she was going to the waterfall to commit suicide, and knowing that, the show "sacrificed" her. They would be in a sense promoting [assisted] suicide. Or in some way justifying it.
Theory: The Doctor was wrong, the midnight creature didnt pick him because he was the smartest, it picked the two people that had the most self loathing.
Huh. That makes sense.
That's actually brilliant
Uh, trust me on this Ellie, even in the 1960s you couldn't get human bones from an abattoir.
Getting a bit Soylent Green?
Not "officially", anyway... 😉🤣
Maybe you couldn't but I'm sure the BBC had a bit more swaying power.
@@cwdhj4852 hahaha still entirely sure abattoirs are only dealing with livestock, not human remains.
Midnight was such a good episode, so well written, claustrophobic and frightening.

Yeah. That 'fact' raises some questions...
The one in Silent Hill I reckon...

So much in this one, that I didn’t know! Great job Ellie and team!
The Flux being engineered sort-of sounds like those conspiracy theories, maybe Chris had that in mind.
And I'm not sure if you would really count the Flux as a scene seeing as that was the main theme of the six episodes?
