Thank you for the step by step of the basic formulas. It is very useful to have the charts for the specific lines with their type of nozzle with the pressures at the pump already calculated. They are useful for those incidents at 3 am, but it is also important to understand and know where all those numbers come from and how they were calculated for those charts.
That's very true ffjsb, but I think it is very important to understand the "Why" and not just how to read the chart. However, I 100% agree with you that you should have a chart for your apparatus. It makes life much easier.
OR, you can get the friction loss charts from the hose manufacturer, and the flow charts from the nozzle manufacturer and not have to do that math. It's already done for you.
You are definitely right and I should have mentioned that in the video. I used those stacked tips from a 2.5" play pipe nozzle and stuck with a 1" tip during the demo because the math is very simple to follow. Sorry about that.

What if you pump two lines into the portable monitor?

I didn't know that a 1" tip could be used as a master stream. It definitely doesn't flow enough water.
