  • We're now 8 weeks into the gorillafication of Gladys. She's starting to get around on her own and feed on her own. Two important steps towards getting her back with real gorillas.
The Cincinnati Zoo is thrilled to announce that its 3-month-old Western Lowland gorilla, "Gladys," will be making her public debut in her outdoor yard on Tuesday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. Over the next month, Gladys will be spending time in her outdoor yard with human surrogates, as part of Phase III of her "gorillafication." Surrogates will allow her to explore all areas of the outdoor yard, climbing trees and ducking into caves, to ensure Gladys is familiar with the yard and comfortable when she goes outdoors with her gorilla surrogate in the near future.

    God bless the male caregiver.
God bless his life were ever he is today.
Though all the caregivers caretakers staff and authorities get paid their salaries for their services.
    But here.
Honesty and concern for baby gorilla GLADYS.
Shows on the behavior the way the caregiver is so gentle with baby GLADYS.
    God bless the caregiver .
    God bless baby GLADYS.
    God bless Cincinnati zoo.

I know this is 4 years ago, but for me it's just now and Gladys is a baby. And I love her, and I am so envious of the caregiver who has his arms around her and growls at her in gorillas talk, and I wish I had the opportunity to volunteer to hold and feed them since I am too old to crawl around and play Gorilla Mommy. Kisses kisses kisses.

Gladys is still at Cincinnati Zoo and doing very well. She's 8 &1/2 now, She's in between wanting to be a grown up but still want to play like a little kid. She's a great older 'sis' to the younger girls, sisters Mona,7 & Elle,6. They're a real hoot when all 3 get going! 😄

Who Made 'JULIE BUNACH' and her 'comments' the end all, be all of what 'will' and 'wont' be successful. You have already declared this to be 'disaster'- do you any concept of 'what the correct method is in habituating a gorilla baby into a family?" I could ONLY be so lucky as to volunteer as Cincinnati Zoo-as a veterinarian however new, I want to specialize in primatology and unless I go to Africa, it won't happen. I have followed this project, and it is bar none one of the best methods to date
