Just as I remember it back in the day ( I'm 51 years old now) it was like watching the perfect laid back movie while stoned on some of Durban's Finest.... the world needs more of this in future . Long shelf- life tracks that are timeless in a world where nothing is certain to last. Keep spreading the love and unity forever ! As a person who at 17 years old had a sole residency at a Jazz club ( ''Rippington's Jazz Base'' which was literally underground in the basement of a famous hotel and continued on and became South Africa's first resident , primarily, House Dj at South Africa's 1st non- racial nightclub (1987 - 1992 ) Both genres at the same venue ,I played a similarly eclectic style to what this set represents to me and I lived and played the Golden Era of music by listening to newly released tracks over the telephone connected to my best friend studying in London who had this arranged at various record shops every Friday afternoon during this fantastic period of the best music ever , air freighted the vinyl over 6 months before shipments arrived and enjoyed being first to drop (on African soil) what later became to be known to me as 27 of the top 40 tracks of all time , regularly played , months before the time of those tracks just being launched locally as 'new' . I had an ear for music then as I have now and because of the cost of overseas calls back then I spent less than 10 seconds (in mono) appraising those selected tracks, per track. What I am saying is that this quality of curation is extremely rare and you two have it in spades with an ear for key as well as tempo-progression. 99% of all mixes I've ever heard do not (esp. B2B) and I never comment on a mix or participate with or in social media activities very often. Not even my fellow South African's are aware of my role in bringing House music over to Africa because the music meant more than what perks it brought along with it. Now-famous radio and Club Dj's would wait until I finished with certain tracks in order for them to borrow one off copies of my music to go and play at their residencies as I would regularly play at their matinees before we opened... This mix feels so fresh yet took me back to some of my finest moments and priceless memories of music ...it's uncanny ... This mix is Retro - Modern Nostalgia at it's finest , well done you wonderful duo , a match made in heaven ! Curation , set flow and emotional continuity is surreal , mixing truly sublime too ! More of this mood and style please ! Such a humble offering and received as a blessing by me ,if Earth was sending out another time capsule / space telescope and I was choosing the Golden Disc Record , like Voyager 1 and 2 , I would love this mix to represent us Earthlings along with one of mine of course ! But only because I'm biased ,haha!

oh really? What exactly is it that makes this one better than the others? Because to be honest this mix was a lot less work, it wasn't off grid, there was no wind, quick set up, and our dish selection was quite simple, and still you think this one is the best? Just curious Francois

His 80's cool porn star vibe and similarly, her Flower power ''spaced out on Love and peace vibe'' ... Just as I remember it back in the day ( I'm 51 years old now) it was like watching the perfect laid back movie while stoned on some of Durban's Finest.... the world needs more of this in future . Long shelf- life tracks that are timeless in a world where nothing is certain to last.

As a person who at 17 years old had a sole residency at a Jazz club ( ''Rippington's Jazz Base'' which was literally underground in the basement of a famous hotel and continued on and became South Africa's first resident , primarily, House Dj at South Africa's 1st non- racial nightclub (1987 - 1992 ) Both genres at the same venue ,I played a similarly eclectic style to what this set represents to me and I lived and played the Golden Era of music by listening to newly released tracks over the telephone connected to my best friend studying in London who had this arranged at various record shops every Friday afternoon during this fantastic period of the best music ever , air freighted the vinyl over 6 months before shipments arrived and enjoyed being first to drop (on African soil) what later became to be known to me as 27 of the top 40 tracks of all time , regularly played , months before the time of those tracks just being launched locally as 'new' . I had an ear for music then as I have now and because of the cost of overseas calls back then I spent less than 10 seconds (in mono) appraising those selected tracks, per track. What I am saying is that this quality of curation is extremely rare and you two have it in spades with an ear for key as well as tempo-progression. 99% of all mixes I've ever heard do not (esp. B2B) and I never comment on a mix or participate with or in social media activities very often. Not even my fellow South African's are aware of my role in bringing House music over to Africa because the music meant more than what perks it brought along with it. Now-famous radio and Club Dj's would wait until I finished with certain tracks in order for them to borrow one off copies of my music to go and play at their residencies as I would regularly play at their matinees before we opened... This mix feels so fresh yet took me back to some of my finest moments and priceless memories of music ...it's uncanny ...
This mix is Retro - Modern Nostalgia at it's finest , well done you wonderful duo , a match made in heaven ! Curation , set flow and emotional continuity is surreal , mixing truly sublime too ! More of this mood and style please ! Such a humble offering and received as a blessing by me ,if Earth was sending out another time capsule / space telescope and I was choosing the Golden Disc Record , like Voyager 1 and 2 , I would love this mix to represent us Earthlings along with one of mine of course ! But only because I'm biased ,haha!
