- In this short video, you’ll find step-by-step instructions, showing you how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble a Danfoss EV220B NO 3/4 type direct servo-operated solenoid valve.
1. Before you start, use a pen to mark the valve cover.
2. Dismount the plug and lever the coil from the valve body with a screwdriver. (Warning: never remove a coil with voltage applied.)
3. Use a HEX 15 screwdriver to unscrew the actuator system and lift it off.
4. Move the armature seal forward using a permanent magnet. Check it operates smoothly, and clean if necessary.
5. Carefully remove, inspect, and clean the O-ring.
6. Unscrew the equalizing orifice. Inspect it for dirt, check the hole with a light, and clean with a needle if necessary.
7. Remove the valve top cover and use a light to check the pilot holes.
8. Dismount the closing spring, then carefully remove, inspect and clean the diaphragm.
9. Clean the valve body, including checking the two O-rings.
10. Mount the diaphragm with the valve-cone facing downwards, followed by the closing spring with the widest part on the diaphragm.
11. Use your marked line to reassemble the valve cover. Then insert the O-ring and reassemble the actuator system and equalizing orifice.
12. Use a permanent magnet to check the armature works. If so, re-mount the coil with the easy click-on system, then mount the plug.
