  • 🇺🇲 United States MIA1-I-I Training Gas mask dated December of 1941 by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company lot PI88-I, size Universal with a Class b Grey rubber E41 facepiece. The American Training gas mask began development from the E32 Fully Molded mask trials from 1936, which ended sometime in late 1938. These trials inevitably inspired the development of the E41 series Training gas masks, which had been standardized as the main US Training gas mask in mid 1939, with the MI or M2 Training Gas mask. An updated model of the Training gas mask would be the MIA1 or M2A1 Training Gas masks, which would come in Class A or B rubber, with the Class A black facepieces lacking the rifle skids seen on the Class B Grey models. This particular example of this MIA1 or M2A1 Training Mask is in mint condition, with zero cracking or lacerations on the mask, harness, and no damage to the Canister. The carrier to this mask is an MI carrier inscribed with the name "Training gas mask MIA1"; this mask would also work with an MI carrier inscribed "Training gas mask M2A1-I-I".
