Today a friend contacted me after years of not hearing from her. Asking how is was doing , and if I would like to come at the hall some time . With a invitation to a specials talk about the resurrection. First I wanted to shun her , not react at all. Give them some of their own . Letting them know how it feels to be treated as air. But in the back of my mind I knew, that’s my flesh speaking . It’s shows that I need to have some forgiving to do , and be grateful towards them, just like you said. It’s not about us anymore but about Christ and what he want us to do or react . We need to put our feelings/flesh aside and walk in the spirit , wishing them shalom and letting them know that a Christian life is possible outside the org. Peace to you sister , god bless
I totally agree with your views. It is so funny how my cousin who is a( deep mind controlled JW also ) who I stay with has also asked me to her hall and to their memorial in just the last two days. I know she’s just trying to feel like she’s doing what she’s been told to do, but what gets me is that she still believes all the things they say and do, she makes excuses and justifies all the changes the WT makes. It’s laughable! But the biggest thing that gets me is her ignorance of all their beliefs about scripture that are limited to the tainted and twisted NWT.
Ali you were meant to be at this point. Without your crappy childhood you would never be able to give these talks! You wouldn’t have the head knowledge you have now without experiencing what you did. For myself, living with one (a JW) and not being able to talk about what I know is stiflingly. It takes me back to my own “crappy childhood” ( thanks for directing me to the fairy ) I would not be closer to my own CPTSD. You sometimes answers questions I have BEFORE I even ask them ( HE knows what we need before we ask) which goes to show that you are being used by the Holy Spirit. Keep walking in Him, and receive the fullness of His blessing. I for one am grateful.
Two things: “slacks”- In 1969 when I was a teller, management made a huge change in allowing employees to wear pants to work. At that time it had to be a pant “suit” with matching jacket. it was acceptable dress for business. Good grief, that was 55 years ago.! WT I guess it’s better late than never. And - Ali I love your illustrations, you take after your mom, I think she’s good too. The example of an earthquake in the building and needing to escape to save our life. Such a perfect illustration. When I finally found the actual Father of Jesus and that He is all loving, unconditionally, the reason for me being a JW for 45 years became apparent. I chose to come to this earth school to learn that unconditional love so that I can return home to my Father and dwell in His light and love. My task now is apparent, develop a heartfelt love, forgiveness and gratitude for all of those, including the GB, who remain JW's and send them loving vibrations through my thoughts and actions. Extremely difficult to do at times, the peace of mind and hear make it all worth it.

I believe Watchtower is the apostate - 2 John 9: WT went on ahead and made man-made rules and a lethal judicial system, and they did not abide in the teachings of Christ. So they don't have God. So maybe we can't greet the GB! But you are good enough to pray for them, which they need. By the way, I can see that Sheryl loves you dearly and I'm sure she wishes things had been different. I shouldn't say ALL elders; as I believe most are good people. I'm all for love and patience, Ali; but those witnesses who have been drinking the "faithful slave " Kool-aid' for all of these years and now suddenly act interested in you; need to be reproved. They need to hear the strong counsel from the Apostles Peter, James and Paul; who condemned men setting themselves up over others in the congregation. And the equally strong denunciation of Jesus Christ to the pharisees and scribes of his day; for setting THEMSELVES up as LEADERS of the congregation and flock of God! I could list many scriptures but I'll let readers look them up in their own Bible. Romans 14: 1-12;....1 Corinth. 4: 3-6;....1 Peter 5: 3,.........James 4: 11, 12;......Matt. 23: 1-13;....Matt. 15: 6-9;....1 Corinth. 1: 10-15;.....1 Corinth. 7: 23;.....Gal. 1: 8-12;. So good to hear your honest reflections. You show like many of us who have been "skinned and thrown about; like sheep without a shepherd",....(Matt. 9: 36) that you're capable of self reflection and introspective analysis, like we all should be. Unlike the narcissistic governing body; who won't apologize when they're wrong, won't admit their mistakes; and treat every change as if it were a "flash of light out of heaven"; instead of a realization that their policies and decisions were not in harmony with their Head Christ Jesus' thinking in the first place!
