Let the pond freeze over this winter. Collect all of the live Christmas trees that people need to get rid of, set them in piles on top of the ice. When the ice melts instant fish habitat sink into pond.

I would say now is a good time to install a nice pier also. Fish will use it for summer cover plus I'm sure the future grandkids will use it for fishing. If you had access to nice driftwood or stumps with massive roots, those make excellent natural long lasting fish cribs.

That was my thought, too. Several options : dump load at top and use excavator bucket to boom load out toward pond; dump load over the side, drive down to the bench, and scoop gravel onto bench.

I was a little surprised you didn't use the mini-ex to push the gravel off the sides. Probably wouldn't work so well with a toothed bucket, but you have a grading bucket IIRC.

Pond shaping up really nice Tim. I thought you may have been able to use the excavtor to assist with moving the gravel around but it is hard to judge exactly how much room you really have to work. Ventrac did a great job. It is a very useful machine and with the 8 wheel set seems very stable. Thanks for the video.

I live in a neighborhood of about 100 homes all using well water. I did a lot of research in 2019 and pressure tanks stink. “Electronic” Constant pressure systems are ok but intended for housing developments and not single family homes although they market them that way. Then there are mechanical “cycle stop valves.” The electronic systems are very expensive And the circuit boards have a tendency to fail and that is a huge bill. The mechanical cycle stop valves have no electronic circuits to fail on dirty power and hold constant pressure even if a toilet is flushed while in the shower or under any additional load. Under $500. People who have an out of pocket circuitboard failure migrate to the mechanical systems. No compensation just seeing lots of happy users with the mechanical systems. I even have my irrigation hydrant solutions built into the system. Worth looking into.😊

However, once you were running the diesel ventrac, I was screaming at my phone “oh my God, that things is about to stall out spinning its tires in gravel!” So thankful we have the Z model ventracs.
