I was depressed for 16 weeks, I’m almost committed. But I got out of it... This song reminds me so much of when I was depressed😭💔 But now.... the first person I told is now my boyfriend, the steps I took to get out was worth it💖🥺
This is one of the saddest yet most inspirational songs that I've ever heard. Not just Disney songs. Songs period. Anna in this moment feels like she has absolutely nothing and has lost all of the ones who love her. She wonders what the point of going on is. However, despite how emotionally devastated she is, she picks herself up and takes the steps she needs to take in order to carry on living her life. She faces her depression and negative feelings head on and remains optimistic despite all the darkness around her. Kristen Bell's unbelievable vocals combined the visual of Anna picking herself up and finding a way out of the cave will go down as one my favorite moments in film history. Whenever I find myself feeling down, this is a moment that I will look to in order to get myself out of my negative thoughts and carry on. Hopefully this beautiful piece of music will have the same effect on many others. This song and movie are both masterpieces.
I think the whole movie is about Anna learning that being alone can’t stop her. I mean, she spent her entire childhood alone. If you had known the terrible reality of how she felt, you would try your hardest to make sure the people you loved never felt that way right? I feel that this movie is a lot about her learning that one, people need to be alone sometimes; two, she can go on alone(obviously), and three that she doesn’t have to be terrified about being alone again
in my opinion, this song show her finaly coming to term about how everything always change, nothing stay the same. She always hopethat everything will come back to normal, that everything stay the same. But, things did and will change, and she hasn't come to term to that. Until, she saw everything falling apart around her; Elsa freezing, Olaf gone, Kristoff away. That she realize it and try to do the next right thing. The song also have the aspect you've said. Anna is lost without anyonet. Elsa was her 'star', the one she always follow around. But, the ending shows that she has finaly become independent, she become a queen.

The Frozen movies had always had a special place in my heart because of the connection with my sister. As I'm getting older, I'm starting to realise that once, she'll be the only thing I will have left.
"How to rise from the floor, when it's not you I'm rising for." This is my life. Most days I only rise because my husband and daughter need me to. That's the trouble with losing yourself in other people. This makes sense for Anna because she has incredibly low self worth because of her upbringing so she loses herself in Elsa, then when Elsa is gone, she has nothing left. Disney did an excellent job doing the grief process... Finally! There were so many opportunities. But it was spot on. Living just because other people need you or just because you want to be there for someone else isn't Selflessness, it's self-hatred, it's lack of self-love, and a way your own subconscious trying to find someone to care for because it cares so little about itself. How can you honestly say you love someone if you don't love yourself first? How can you honestly be there for someone else if you aren't present in your own needs? Living for oneself is also caring for those you love. Those people want you to flourish too, those people want you to be a strong individual. We can't be that if we only look at what other people need or want with little to no care to ourselves. Don't just live for someone you love. It strains the relationship and if the relationship breaks, because it can happen even with family, what's left after that? Nothing. And this is what happened to Anna, or... could have happened if she hadn't decided to keep going and do the next right thing: live for herself - see how she doesn't mention Kristoff in the song even though we know she loves him; she knows she can't place her whole life-meaning in the hands of someone else, but herself. It's only shallow if you let it be shallow. It's only shallow if the person is a narcissist. Don't forget, however, that a lot of the people that "live for someone else" are, at the end of the day, people with Hero Complex, literally book narcissists, that think that way of life is the only worthy way (throwing themselves to care for someone else) and live like so just to be "good people". I love how in the movie Anna said all of her achievements WITHOUT powers. It shows how independent and amazing Anna is without powers. Disney has put so much emphasis on Elsa, but I think it’s Anna that deserves the spotlight. Ann is an amazing role model for little girls all over the world to look up to.

Honestly, when i told my friend I cried in this song, She told me ‘why would you cry in a kid’s movie?’ But it was the song that moved me, not the fact that elsa and olaf “died” but it was the lyrics and the emotion in her voice that made me feel something I have never experienced. Sadly, My friend changed the subject and kept cutting me off when I tried to explain why I cried there.

Nah, show yourself was pretty emotional. It's not easy to people to feel good about themselves, that's what the song was about. A lifetime of insecurity and shame, doubt and self hatred, finally feeling accepted and by herself no less, that felt really powerful to me. Anna has a different journey to Elsa. Anna's journey is learning to continue in life even when everything had gone wrong, something so many can relate to, especially ppl who might already be confident in themselves. Anna sang her that she isn't trying to pretend to be cheerful like in the first movie when things went bad, she's just going to take it one step at a time and fix what she can for now. Their stories aren't the same and should not be compared.
The music in this movie was spot on all together. The first movie was classic Disney stuck on repeat in your head and catchy to a fault. This stuff kinda broke the mold and dared to tap into the real and raw emotions of each character. It’s no “let it go” but It didn’t have to be.
I loved how much Ana grew during this movie. I remember being really frustrated that everyone only ever talked about how sad Elsa’s life was, how much she suffered, how much she went through, how she was brave and saved Ana at the end of the first movie. While ignoring all the craziness that went on on in Ana’s life that she has had to overcome. I feel like both sisters have finally gotten equal amounts of attention now.
There are very few songs from movies or plays that I will cry to without the visual after the first time...This is one of those songs. Kristen's voice cracks so much, and it's so beautiful. It's haunting and sinks into one's heart.

This made me cry in the cinema and made me cry again there now. For a kids movie this is a very practical and realistic portrayal of grief. I'm pretty broken emotionally but it's good that my emotions function enough to respond properly to the situation this depicted

I’m so proud of every song in this movie because they send the message that bad feelings are okay to feel, but it also reinforces the fact that we have to keep on going even when it seems like there is nothing to look forward to. I saw this movie with my daughter several times I lost count honestly but of all the Frozen songs this is the most beautiful song for Frozen II. It's not all Ana's sister, Ana is my favorite. She was abandoned by her sister. This song tells everyone Ana's pain from the very beginning.
Anna is my fav character in this series. In this song she shows everyone just how strong she is. She's a fighter, she grew up abandoned, never understanding why. After the coronation she didn't cower in fear but fearlesly went to get her beloved sister back, alone. She never even thought that she might be the queen or that Elsa might be stuck up little cow and just live her alone. Anna is a warior, she faced Hans even if Kristof wanted to hit him, she did it herself. Now in second movie she refuses to be left behind even despite being just a normal girl. She eventualy saves Elsa and the two kingdoms by doing "next right thing", again, alone. She is a true hero of this movie not Elsa with her super powers and flashy looks. Anna shine with her love and courage. A true hero.
This song and scene can teach children and people who have depression that shit happens, stay strong, you always have a purpose, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, it gets better, never give up, you're allowed to cry and vent about it, it will make feel better and make you take the next step❤ I also love show yourself because it's Elsa actually singing to herself. God this resonates with me so much... This is why Frozen II was so much better to me. It had messages that resonated with me. I can’t give up when my mood swings get to me and I feel down, I just gotta get back up and keep going.

Anna sang her that she isn't trying to pretend to be cheerful like in the first movie when things went bad, she's just going to take it one step at a time and fix what she can for now. Their stories aren't the same and should not be compared.
The music in this movie was spot on all together. The first movie was classic Disney stuck on repeat in your head and catchy to a fault. This stuff kinda broke the mold and dared to tap into the real and raw emotions of each character. It’s no “let it go” but It didn’t have to be.
"Do the next right thing" is such powerful life advice though... This song is so good...

I loved how much Ana grew during this movie.
I remember being really frustrated that everyone only ever talked about how sad Elsa’s life was, how much she suffered, how much she went through, how she was brave and saved Ana at the end of the first movie. While ignoring all the craziness that went on on in Ana’s life that she has had to overcome. I feel like both sisters have finally gotten equal amounts of attention now.

There are very few songs from movies or plays that I will cry to without the visual after the first time...This is one of those songs. Kristen's voice cracks so much, and it's so beautiful. It's haunting and sinks into one's heart.

I’m so proud of every song in this movie because they send the message that bad feelings are okay to feel, but it also reinforces the fact that we have to keep on going even when it seems like there is nothing to look forward to. Great movie for both boys and girls of all ages.

Anna is my fav character in this series. In this song she shows everyone just how strong she is. She's a fighter, she grew up abandoned, never understanding why. After the coronation she didn't cower in fear but fearlesly went to get her beloved sister back, alone. She never even thought that she might be the queen or that Elsa might be stuck up little cow and just live her alone. Anna is a warior, she faced Hans even if Kristof wanted to hit him, she did it herself. Now in second movie she refuses to be left behind even despite being just a normal girl. She eventualy saves Elsa and the two kingdoms by doing "next right thing", again, alone. She is a true hero of this movie not Elsa with her super powers and flashy looks. Anna shine with her love and courage. A true hero.
This song and scene can teach children and people who have depression that shit happens, stay strong, you always have a purpose, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, it gets better, never give up, you're allowed to cry and vent about it, it will make feel better and make you take the next step❤
