Star Citizen is an Open Development Alpha Project by Cloud Imperium. It is 2 Games really though, the Persistent Universe that aims to build a First Person MMO Space Sim that encompasses gameplay in ship & on ground, economy and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's built in the StarEngine (a modified Lumberyard Engine). You'll see massive Space Ships that you can fly with friends, land on planets, explore or whatever your way to whatever goal you choose. It's available to try in it's current Alpha State now, you can give feedback & influence the direction of the game BUT it is VERY ALPHA.
Squadron 42 is the Single Player Campaign of Star Citizen & the Spiritual Successor of Wing Commander. The Idea is the game is immersive, cinematic, beautiful & seamless... NO LOADING SCREENS once in game.
Both Games are currently in the Alpha of their development.
I am suspecting to see something more mainstream for Star Citizen's PU by the end of 2024 with permanent progression, though it will be a while after that before the game is considered "feature complete" which would be closer to 2025 in my opinion.
The are no dates for Squadron 42's Release Yet BUT it is now Feature Complete.
I am an Independent Content Creator & Star Citizen Fan. I am not paid by Cloud Imperium HOWEVER I am an Evocati Member and as such I am under an NDA for Closed Early Patch Tests of Star Citizen', known as the Evocati Test Flight (ETF). I "borrowed" a C1 from a landing pad. Spent 6 hours seamlessly tackling multiple game loops. It was a good day, I would love one in my hanger o7
i tried borrowing a ship but once i borrowed it there was a bug and i could not open the exteriour...i was trapped :/.

The bug I most hate from EPTU that was marked "not a bug" due to lack of votes: Weapon assignments in the MFD are reset to default every time you switch to nav mode. When you go back to combat, you have to stop and assign the weapons again. If you get pulled out of QT, then you have to fight with the wrong assignments. We cannot simply make a binding that all weapon groups are fired by one button unless we don't have specialty weapons, e.g., this isn't compatible with snares or EMPs.😪
What would be really nice is if we also had a binding for "specialty weapons" like EMP or snare. One could assign joystick button 2 to both group 2 and the specialty item, or put all guns on button 1 (group 1 and 2), while still maintaining a separate button for EMP or snare.
3.23 has come a long way. I really hope they fix the salvage bug where when you fracture a ship you get an instant level 2 crime stat before they go live.

Absolute show stopper bug. If they don’t fix this issue, I hope CIG is prepared for some serious backlash.
Two of the numerous problems with the bug reporting system are:
1: voting. Absolute ass idea.
And
2: no actual search system for existing reports. Just a text matching crap that only works if you already know what the bug reporter typed as their title. And people seen to be lost about what things are called.
I found a door that opened but didn’t remove its collision. So it was effectively still closed.
Reported as “wall never moved”. 😂

I hope they nerved Salvage on the level to Mining profits so we can find players for both activitys again.
I just tried using heavy armor while using the Moby glass and with the new revamped Moby glass. When customizing ships, the armor still obscures your vision. I was hoping they were going to fix that😢
Cant wait for Invictus event. Started playing 3.23 today. Bad frames but absolutely fun. This game just blows my mind.

The patch notes are now in the structure of what we normally see for release candidates, so it looks like they're hoping one of the next few patches is going to be the one to go live.
Yeah I agree.
The C1 is almost a perfect multi purpose ship. It could use a boost in DPS and shields (my humble opinion to be able to better defend itself), maybe later on they could add an exploration version with better habitation area and take part of the cargo bay for an scanning station.
Oh man, The C1 would be awesome to have.. I'd give it to my Grandson so he can play with me and my Son when he gets old enough :)

The C1 is a really nice ship. Its what I wanted the Freelancer to be during the original campaign
There's a ton of neat stuff in 3.23, but as an almost exclusive industrial player, the cargo update was the big thing I was really looking forward to, so its a little bummer to have to wait for it. Hopefully it comes not too long after invictus. If there were more delivery missions to the distribution centers that would be good for me, but so far most of what I've seen in eptu was combat focused stuff. Hopefully there is some.
This patch cycle has felt like "The road to 3.23" if you know what I mean 😂 I haven't jumped into PTU because I dont want to burn out on this patch before it even hits live 🤔 My guess for the patch going live is: May the 5th 🚀🔫 May the 5th be with you

You are one of my top sources for SC news. Glad our community has dedicated content creators to update and entertain us while we all play the 'long game'.
Next patch is really exciting, hopefully the new hangers and personal inventory systems aren’t too far out

About two years ago I found your channel. And only this year I bought the game.
I bought the package with the Cutter. Lovely ship, yet when I first boarded I felt the ship was too small :) hahahh. Alhough I was amazed by the size (although later I really was amazed)
With some grinding and some lovely help of the community (which I adore. So kind most of the times. Thank you!) I managed to get an upgrade in ship. And from there the game got so much better. Each ship I bought in-game made a new experience. Very nice indeed.
And than back to your video's. I know we had conversations back in the day, where you told me : Just buy a cheap package and see if the game is for you. And that advise I took for granted. Loving the game and what's to come seems very cool to be part of.

When my friend told me that it felt *bad* to play 3.22 (after having come from 3.23), I figured it'd be pretty dang good. I'm excited to see what we get in 3.23, having not touched it myself!

I've always wondered why there was no dedicated pirate version of the Cutty. I know there is the skull and crossbones paint, but no actual Cutlass pirate edition like the gladius and the caterpillar.

The 3D interface for engineering needs to be 2D. Being 3D and rotate-able just makes it harder to use. Not to mention the fact that apperently nobody on that dev team was reminded that you can't stand up, let alone, run around on most ships without being constantly knocked prone.
im not holding my breath for it, but the Legionnaire, being boarding focused, does make a certain amount of sense to release alongside a boarding focused event

Just a heads up, I don't think CIG has any presets for Virpil equipment yet, so you may have to make your own keybinds. When I got my HOTAS a few months ago they didn't have any presets for any Virpil equipment.

Just got access to the PTU. Very excited about trying out the new features before they go live. Logged on for a bit this morning but couldn't get out of the hab. Hopefully I'll have better luck after work.

I spent a lot of time testing out 3.23. I actually spent more time in the EPTU than I did in live 3.22, and I have to say, i'm really proud of how far this patch has come. Star Citizen is finally crossing the threshold of feeling like a game more than like a tech demo, mostly (in my opinion) as a result of the massive upgrade to the mobiglas and HUD in general.

Hopefully 3.23 comes out as a nice and stable patch and not completely unplayable. All I can ask for 💀

Did they fix all of those spawning in walls under the floor issues in bunkers so you can actually complete them now? Haven't played since last year.

It is so much easier to be happy with delays on features like hangars when we can see how fast and effective their development has been over the last year. I'm really happy with the choices and progress they are making

The character creation is top teir. I can see a couple of additions being added but all in all
, you have a crap load of freedom to create any look you'd like. I like that there aren't any aggressive sliders that make your character look too stylized or immersion breaking.
