Awesome video helped me a lot in the beginning. One tip... Just launder the stolen items. Removes the red tag. Take them to a trade facility and sell it to them and do not exit or back out. Just buy them back right away for the same price you sold them. It launders them and makes them clean. There was even a scene in the game where someone comments about the trade organization selling stolen property so its a Canon way to clean items.
I dunno if someone's already said this, but remarking on your regrets about not ranking up the pilot skill- you can go to the flight simulator in Mast District (part of that faction quest) and redo it over and over to get your ship kill count up. Great guide, thanks!
If you're doing this 1. Do not go past lv4 in the sim. Let yourself get wiped out aka the sim ship blown up at lv5. Then leave the sim and "try again." you can do this until you max the skill and as well use the process to get targeting maxed out too. To assure the most efficient use when you leave the simulator, just ignore the not there ... that way you can return as you like... you also can improve the test ship on the computer. When the simm starts, get up from the seat and go adjust the computer. Also the best way to get to much higher levels if you want to do the full faction quest
@dayneh2 it's the faction quest line where you join UC Vanguard, I *think* it starts with Keeping the Peace, don't remember if that's a mission title you can see straight off or whether there's an activity listed to ask about the vanguard or what

If you’re using a controller, reverse the controls for the sticks. I had to switch left to right and right to left so it plays more like Battlefield. Although, still to this day, no game that incorporates flying has done controls like Ace Combat, which are the most ideal controls for flying.
I’ve never watched one of these videos before until I started playing Starfield. I have played through the game once at this stage and watching this has given me so many tips.
Contraband can be taken and sold at The Den, in the Wolf system. They won't scan you prior to docking. You can also sell stolen items to Trade Authority, and then buy back for the same price you sold it, which will then remove the 'stolen' marker from the item. Helpful if you stole something that you want to keep
Definitely going to have to remember this because I’m always picking up almost anything. Interesting that they’ll sell it back to you for the same price…
The most beginner friendly starter guide I've seen for starfeild. Has every system that I have come to know but struggled with a bit in the beginning. If you're starting starfeild you need to watch this video
Thanks LG!!! Your videos along with other people's videos caused me to delete the game I started and begin anew with reason and purpose and saved me countless grief, heartache and time in the process. Making way more enjoyable. Again, thank you!!
Made it to the end and enjoyed it all. Most I knew, but there were a few bits I didn't have a clue about. Pro Tip for Digipicks and lockpicking: Always savescum before attempting a try and remember you can tab through ALL picks and line everything up BEFORE committing to using any attempts. I always go through the list and line everytying up and then just open on first attempt. Enjoy!
I really appreciate the time you put into this. I’m only a few hours in and have enjoyed the game so far. The biggest issue I have is the lack of tutorials. For instance, the lock pick system. There were no explanations in game on how this worked. I found boxes before digipicks, and tried to open them for a few minutes before I realized what was needed. And then when I got one, it again took me a good bit of time to figure out how it worked. Several systems that you discussed here, I had no hint at them being available, like crew placement. I think they really dropped the ball here. So your video has been hugely helpful.
I like taking my time through a game, particularly one as explorative as Starfield. Short games, or those I breeze through quickly don't make me feel like it's money well spent. Btw...this is how you make a guide! Excellent work!
I really appreciate you spending time to do this video! I love Fallout and Elder Scrolls, but when I first started Starfield, I was very underwhelmed. After watching your video, and some other ones I have came across, it has renewed my interest in this game. I am starting to enjoy it so much more! Thank you so much!
Great help as always and I love that you didn't show spoilers. You gave me just enough info to get familiar with the systems which was all I wanted. Thanks Lucky, you're the best!
Hey man just picked up the game yesterday and I'm hooked already, as per usual thanks for the insane amount of research and effort you put into these beginners guides you truly go above and beyond to cover everything in these games, an excellent and extremely informative vid, I'll always visit your channel whenever a new game comes out in the future, hands down best guides on TH-cam.👍
This guide convinced me to really give starfield a new chance. It showed it really is a bethesda game. And it's flaws can be shadawed by it's strenghts. Thankyou for your positive tone!
Watched the whole thing, loved it. Was so confused with some of the mechanics of this game, now i feel i have all the tools i need to have a fun and successful playthrough. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this - I'm only 40 minutes in and you've covered more info than anyone else I've watched today who was covering Starfield. Edited to add -- I am now going to be a major empire builder with all the outpost stuff - absolutely amazing.
Are you a Teacher of sorts ?? Your Loving the DETAILs in your Video ...WELL DONE.. This is one of the Best on youtube. Been playing for 3 days now....having a ton of fun Do you have a video on Basic Building of Mining resources on planets ?? I am having difficulty understanding how , and where this is done. 24:43...Before I land on a civilized planet, I like to TRADE /SELL all my MISCELLENOUS stuff with other ships in orbit of planets...so my inventory is emptied, for other things when exploring the next planet. 31:04..I don't have the Skill called *PERSUASION* ...but when I where a Clothing that has a bonus on "+5% Persuasion" , It does the job... I like wearing clothing that adds +5 to Carry load on my person 34:07 ..when I score an illegal contraband...I always take it to the Wolf System = Den StarStation...and sell it to the Trade place there... I haven't found any other place that does this, yet... 35:28...If you scan the resources of planets....you get a notepad for it...these sell for alot of money at different places. 43:20...I've found alot of ship repair kits, when I am in a planets orbit and hail a ship and trade / buy *Ship Repair Kits* I haven't found a planet , yet, that sells these.
Fantastic guide. I’m sitting here at work anxious to get off so I can play and watching this helped make time go by faster. Thanks so much for all the information! I’m HYPED!
Phenomenal video, much appreciated. Detailed and clear! I’ve found that starfield has a steep learning curve and you just cut it down a little. Thanks!
Great video for beginners. I would like to see more related base and outpost building. I noticed you did not "link" your extractor to the storage but instead manually moved it. I saw a stream of someone who linked their extractor to storage and then storage to the structure that has incoming and outgoing storage on it that allows for access across multiple outposts. Really interested in seeing a more in-depth guide on how all the outpost and base mechanics work. Thanks and keep up the great vids.
You didn't mention Stealth!! It's important to unlock the stealth meter so you can even know if you're detected or not. Very important to know about!! Also Scavenging is particularly useful when you get into the NG+ aspect of the game, and a great thing to grab early.
You sir are the legend, these are not only great to watch but keeps me informed from the audio whilst I grind out my studies. So keen to jump back in once I’m back home. ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Thanks for the video - very informative. Just started on my grand adventure and I’m really enjoying it so far thanks to your tips. Looking for the moon made of cheese but it remains elusive 😂
Some nice tips I hadn't realised, especially with the fast travel - I got early access so I have about 10 hours atm. Gopher tested the distance you could run from your ship and it worked out at 3km in any direction, so unless you move your ship, that's your lot!
Amazing vid! Just finished watching all of it before the early release! Feel a lot more informed going into the game now! Thank you for the great content!
This is a great video Lucky!! You and Desh did a great job with this!! Love all the research that went into this! I'll make sure to revisit this video once I pick up the game!! ❤❤
1:34:46 For piloting you can just use the simulator to get ship kills. It counts. It's located at the UC MAST building in New Atlantis on Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system.
Great video! I'm playing StarField these days (just under 5hours into the game atm), & have learned plenty in the 1st 50mins of this video! I'll be back to study more tomorrow, cheers PS: Came back the next day & finished watching. Thanks again for the amazing video game guide!
Just so you know you can fight basically an unlimited amount of ships using the flight simulator used for the UC testing in New Atlantis. Destroying those simulated enemy ships count for challenges.
@@sicecko you don’t have to. They have you use it for a test to get accepted into the UC. Once you complete the flight sim, you can come back and retake it as many times as you want.
Hi, I am brand new to your channel and to Starfield as well. I did make it all the way through. We play on Xbox series x. My fiance has been playing for almost a year now. I found your video very helpful, especially the skills portion. This game is very complex and very thorough. I appreciate the time you took to make this video.🎉
Definitely going to leave a sub and like on this vid. Between this and your BG3 guide I’m looking forward to more beginner friendly guides as newer games come out. Great job man 👍🏾
A little tip about storing your crafting materials....... In the basement of the Lodge, there are all the crafting tables. Right next to the research station in the center of the room, there is a box with infinite storage as well. I have found it to be the perfect spot to store crafting materials when not using them. When you need to craft or research you can just use take all, do your business, then store what you did not use back in the box for later. That way you don't have to go all the way up to your safe, then walk down to the basement. Also, when you have a massive amount of materials on your ship and do not want to walk all through Jemison transporting them to the Lodge, you can put them in your inventory, then travel directly to the Lodge from your ship if you choose the Lodge when landing.
Saved. Thanks for the vid. I'll be coming back again and again to be sure. And thank you for not drinking 14 energy drinks during narration. Light, humorous, well-paced.
I am a hoarder and I love how you explain starfield thank you so much you have helped me in so many different ways thank you thank you thank you 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
A tip. Go the social route and grab leadership and crew command. Last rank of Lead doubles bonuses of companions on ground and in ship that they buff you with. The last rank of Command gives 6 crew on ship.
this is an awesome guide and super thorough --- appreciate the amount of time it probably took to get it published on youtube as soon as you did! thanks!
Subscriber from somw time ago here, and resident mailman in the comment section (though if other postal family is here hollar at your boy!)- And have this video on play now. Marked it as nessecary watching before I start my forat play through. Thank you for this. Need that knowledge, especially a masterpiece of this scale. Its near imperitive, unless you like going in blind. Im more of a one charector type player in these RPGs Bethesda makes, so it is solid to have this knowledge going in to not make mistakes as I atypically very rarely ever do a second charector (or have that kind of time either lol). This video needs way more love, it powers through in importance over reviews and opinions all day, as it is actuaply useful to not only brand new players- but on a game of this scale I am sure knowledge some may not have yet who already may be knee deep in the experience. Thank you again for your time and this video! I feel you deaerve to see it ia truly portant and a community service you have provided here.
Great guide, thank you. One thing that appears missing (I may be wrong) is the ability to focus on just the current mission in the heads up. I’m a newbie and my scanner whether on or not shows the locations of multiple objectives so I haven’t a clue where to go or where I am. I keep trying to memorise the layout of Atlantis for example. I like authenticy to be on max, so I don’t expect to just be at the destination instantly. One nice thing about the dialogues is that they are relatable. Their clearly has been thought into ‘relationships’ in constructing them. I like to think we’re at the pioneering stages of future game playing possibilities and this is a step in the right direction
Alright, I’m actually 50+ hours into the game but really wanted the authentic figure it out for myself experience before I started checking out the community. Awesome tips, scan fast travel (the gaming experience is some much better mid game). Skills - targeting, jump pack and starship design (learned about piloting the hard way). Also ship building (only can have one grav drive and reactor). I haven’t tried to build an outpost but once I’m done building a ship to the level I want I’ll try that. The follow up questions this brought up were: 1. Social Optimization (did manipulation from Raijin + maxed persuasion and it helps so much but curious about the other options) 2. Best ships, and parts (weapon, drive for each ship design level and class) 3. Outpost - protecting it, what materials to optimize and what practical things can you put (mission boards, mod benches etc. and on which planets) 4. Best missions (outside of main) so all factions ( I think there are 4 UC, Raijin, Freestar, Crimson Fleet but I hope there are more - super fun) 5. Way more detail about crew - who are the best to follow you, who are the best for ships and outposts etc. can more than one person follow you. Looking forward to the rest of your videos!
If you save 3 skill points you can max piloting on new atlantis in the pilot simulator. Start uc vanguard quest with tuala and at end of hallway is a flight simulator. Just keep goong in and killing ships and leaving before tier 6, then go back in, rinse and repeat, it also works if you save like 10 skill points and it can level any ship skill like shields, engines, ect
Hey Lucky, been watching some of your Diablo videos and was pumped to see you putting out Starfield content. One major tip for you that might save your piloting error, I have not tested this but have with another companion skill so I think it will work here to, as long as you assign a companion to the right location his/her perk will light up, giving you the equivalent of having that perk unlocked. I believe it is Sam Coe that has four ranks in piloting so as long as you have him assigned to your ship, you should be able to pilot class c, I don't know how this will work with stealing ships, but it seems to work for his payload perk which gives 2 ranks equal to 20 percent increase in cargo capacity, which I can say with no points in payload my ship has 20 percent increased cargo. Like I said I haven't fully tested this so don't yell at me if this turns out to be false lol
Hey Ghost!! I watched the entire video and learned quite a bit. Especially some of those helpful tips you give like the flashlight, or “learn from my mistakes”, lol!! Great content!! Cheers!!
*YOU CAN GRAV JUMP TO AVOID SCANS* If you grav jump to a zone and you start getting scanned (for organs, etc.), hit your map button, pick a location that doesn't scan (some black market spots) . Once you select a spot, *PUT POWER TO YOUR GRAV JUMP* and you'll jump out in like .5 seconds. Hope this helps someone!

And then when I got one, it again took me a good bit of time to figure out how it worked. Several systems that you discussed here, I had no hint at them being available, like crew placement. I think they really dropped the ball here. So your video has been hugely helpful.
Yeah it definitely throws you into the deep end without a lot of help on some of these topics haha. Glad I could help!
Thank you so much!
thats awesome to hear! :D
Starfield is the game I've been dreaming of for years man. It's been years since I've been this addicted to a game, I love it.
Great help as always and I love that you didn't show spoilers. You gave me just enough info to get familiar with the systems which was all I wanted. Thanks Lucky, you're the best!
Glad to help!
Brilliant guide that explains enough without spoiling the essence of discovery and exploration. It's the only guide new players need.
This is an INCREDIBLE video. So much info, so well organised. Can't thank you enough!
This has been as useful a how-to guide as I have seen for any game. Thank you.
Watched the whole thing, loved it. Was so confused with some of the mechanics of this game, now i feel i have all the tools i need to have a fun and successful playthrough. Thanks!
hey that's awesome, that's what I love to hear! cheers!
Thank you so much for this - I'm only 40 minutes in and you've covered more info than anyone else I've watched today who was covering Starfield. Edited to add -- I am now going to be a major empire builder with all the outpost stuff - absolutely amazing.
I'm glad the hard work doesn't go unnoticed!
I don’t have the game. But this guide was awesome and now I want it. Damn priorities
SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME! and ty for the shoutout!
Tell me u got it
@@generaltim494 it’s on my Steam wishlist!
Just getting into Starfield and this video was extensive. I will definitely be referencing this guide over and over again as I play it.
Enjoy! It's a great game!
The most thorough and detailed guide on TH-cam. This helped me tremendously. Subbed and liked for amazing content. Thank you sir.
Welcome aboard!
Are you a Teacher of sorts ?? Your
Loving the DETAILs in your Video ...WELL DONE..
This is one of the Best on youtube.
Been playing for 3 days now....having a ton of fun
Do you have a video on Basic Building of Mining resources on planets ??
I am having difficulty understanding how , and where this is done.
24:43...Before I land on a civilized planet, I like to TRADE /SELL all my MISCELLENOUS stuff with other ships in orbit of planets...so my inventory is emptied, for other things when exploring the next planet.
31:04..I don't have the Skill called *PERSUASION* ...but when I where a Clothing that has a bonus on "+5% Persuasion" , It does the job...
I like wearing clothing that adds +5 to Carry load on my person
34:07 ..when I score an illegal contraband...I always take it to the Wolf System = Den StarStation...and sell it to the Trade place there...
I haven't found any other place that does this, yet...
35:28...If you scan the resources of planets....you get a notepad for it...these sell for alot of money at different places.
43:20...I've found alot of ship repair kits, when I am in a planets orbit and hail a ship and trade / buy *Ship Repair Kits*
I haven't found a planet , yet, that sells these.
Fantastic guide. I’m sitting here at work anxious to get off so I can play and watching this helped make time go by faster. Thanks so much for all the information! I’m HYPED!
Thanks! May your work day pass quickly!
Damn, I wish I saw this! I am only a couple of hours in, but this is the first video I’ve seen that covers character creation. Well done!
I’m constantly yelling at the the TV(at Sarah) to stop commenting on all the junk I am picking up and carrying.
Phenomenal video, much appreciated. Detailed and clear! I’ve found that starfield has a steep learning curve and you just cut it down a little. Thanks!
I made it to the end. The ship building stuff helped so much. That part of the game is daunting
Fantastic guide! thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Starting to play the game today and watched the full guide! very helpful
This has been a very thorough video, as are all your others. I'm just passively listening to it as I'm getting ready to hop into my third NG+.
Thanks thats a great idea!
I made it through. I am loving Starfield! My grandson and my best friend are loving it too!
Awesome! So glad to hear it!
Dude thanks for this. Absolutely essential for beginners like myself. 👍
Instant sub. This is honestly the best guide I’ve ever seen for a game. Thanks for this one!
“32 days passed, 5 hours slept” everyone playing starfield 😂
New to your content, but after watching many, this is by far the best and most comprehensive guide I have found - subscribed.
Perfect guide thank you for putting the time and effort into this, we all appreciate how well done this was made
Just got Starfield, your video is informative and helpful. Made it to the end. Enjoyed it. Thanks!
You didn't mention Stealth!!
It's important to unlock the stealth meter so you can even know if you're detected or not. Very important to know about!!
Also Scavenging is particularly useful when you get into the NG+ aspect of the game, and a great thing to grab early.
I have watched this video 3 full times, and I have about 50 hours in to the game already. Still helpful
You did it again Lucky! I find myself always looking forward to these really in depth guides you make, thank you so much!
You sir are the legend, these are not only great to watch but keeps me informed from the audio whilst I grind out my studies.
So keen to jump back in once I’m back home. ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Got this out so fast and its so complete, wonderful work, thank you so much!
my pleasure! MUCH more to come!
Excellent guide, will keep in my playlist for reference purposes, cannot wait to start playing Starfield. Subscribed cheers
Just skip IGN and come straight here for reviews and help nowadays. Top, top content!!
ayy thanks for the kind words!
@@LuckyGhost thank you for you’re commitment bro!
This is a great video Lucky!! You and Desh did a great job with this!! Love all the research that went into this! I'll make sure to revisit this video once I pick up the game!! ❤❤
I'm downloading starfield now and your video is really helpful. Thank you!! Can't wait to play it!!
Love your content! Help me out in ESO Big Time! Keep up the great work! Excited about this one 😎👍🏻
Thanks so much. This was the most helpful non-spoiler guide ever! Much appreciated!
What an amazing effort and guide. This was great.
Hella views barely any likes on a detailed and in depth video. Give this dude some love👌🏼
Absolutely fantastic video. I can’t imagine how long it took you to make it. I’ll be referring to this one for a long time.
Awesome!
Just so you know you can fight basically an unlimited amount of ships using the flight simulator used for the UC testing in New Atlantis. Destroying those simulated enemy ships count for challenges.
That's amazing. Do you have to join vanguard to do it or anything?
@@sicecko you don’t have to. They have you use it for a test to get accepted into the UC. Once you complete the flight sim, you can come back and retake it as many times as you want.
Hi, I am brand new to your channel and to Starfield as well. I did make it all the way through. We play on Xbox series x. My fiance has been playing for almost a year now. I found your video very helpful, especially the skills portion. This game is very complex and very thorough. I appreciate the time you took to make this video.🎉
Welcome to the channel! It's a great game for sure!
Definitely going to leave a sub and like on this vid. Between this and your BG3 guide I’m looking forward to more beginner friendly guides as newer games come out. Great job man 👍🏾
Awesome, thank you!
Made it to the end, and gotta say thank you for all the time u put into playing this great game for us to learn from your experience
This was a fantastic video and extremely helpful. Thank you so much! Thoroughly enjoyed it :)
heck ya, thanks!
As always, Lucky. I appreciate the time you take to make these beginner guides. Thanks!
MY MAN, thank you!
Oh ghost lick lick. 😂
Saved. Thanks for the vid. I'll be coming back again and again to be sure. And thank you for not drinking 14 energy drinks during narration. Light, humorous, well-paced.
I am a hoarder and I love how you explain starfield thank you so much you have helped me in so many different ways thank you thank you thank you 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Happy to help! Holders unite!
A tip. Go the social route and grab leadership and crew command. Last rank of Lead doubles bonuses of companions on ground and in ship that they buff you with. The last rank of Command gives 6 crew on ship.
Dude, if you slowed down the voice bt 10 or 20% this would be a 10/10 preview for sure.... my opinion. Nailed the content!! Amazing job dude!
Ya know you can change the playback speed on YT?
this is an awesome guide and super thorough --- appreciate the amount of time it probably took to get it published on youtube as soon as you did! thanks!
Well I wouldn’t be where I’m at in ESO without Lucky’s guides so I already know I’m getting some of the best gaming instruction online.
Made it to the end! Fantastic breakdown, thanks for taking the time!
Subscriber from somw time ago here, and resident mailman in the comment section (though if other postal family is here hollar at your boy!)-
And have this video on play now.
I feel you deaerve to see it ia truly portant and a community service you have provided here.
thank you for the thoughtful comment! appreciate it!
There doh !
The follow up questions this brought up were:
1. Social Optimization (did manipulation from Raijin + maxed persuasion and it helps so much but curious about the other options)
2. Best ships, and parts (weapon, drive for each ship design level and class)
3. Outpost - protecting it, what materials to optimize and what practical things can you put (mission boards, mod benches etc. and on which planets)
4. Best missions (outside of main) so all factions ( I think there are 4 UC, Raijin, Freestar, Crimson Fleet but I hope there are more - super fun)
Now an esential channel for these massive games.
Wow. Thank you for the digipick tip about the blue circles lol so so helpful and I had completely missed it up until now!!
Store resources only on your ship(s) made life so much easier for me, I knew exactly where I was in what I had to sell.
I learned several things to help me. I was listening on my way home. Will be watching again! Thanks.😊
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Ghost!! I watched the entire video and learned quite a bit. Especially some of those helpful tips you give like the flashlight, or “learn from my mistakes”, lol!! Great content!! Cheers!!
Ayy glad to hear it!
Well, amazing, what an informative video, the time and the detail, can't wait to play this game!!
The best explained tutorial for Starfield good job👍
Thanks
yooo! thank you so much marlon!
*YOU CAN GRAV JUMP TO AVOID SCANS*
If you grav jump to a zone and you start getting scanned (for organs, etc.), hit your map button, pick a location that doesn't scan (some black market spots) . Once you select a spot, *PUT POWER TO YOUR GRAV JUMP* and you'll jump out in like .5 seconds. Hope this helps someone!
