What is sketch CATIA?
The sketch is the basic requirement to create the base feature of any solid model. In CATIA, a sketch is drawn in the Sketcher workbench. To invoke the Sketcher workbench, choose the down arrow available on the right of the Sketcher button in the Sketcher toolbar; a flyout appears.
What is the use of Sketcher?
Sketcher is used to create arbitrary geometries that will define the various features of a mechanical part. It is similar to the Sketch function in other 3D solid modeling software such as Unigraphics, Inventor, Solidworks, and CATIA.
CATIA stands for Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application. It's much more than a CAD (Computer Aided Design) software package. It's a full software suite which incorporates CAD, CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacture).
