The Deer Hunter would be a better film if the first third was shortened.

No, in the age of everyone wanting instant gratification the film is a masterpiece as is, and each and every moment serves a purpose.
Perhaps you should stick to cartoons and action movies..genius.

TCM sucks now. If you can't find someone like Osborne to talk about a movie then you should just shut up and play the movie.
