The original songs to replace the licensed ones for streamer mode are almost perfect in how close they are to the ones they replace while still working as awesome standalone songs in their own right.
By design, considering the game is surrounded around matching attacks with the beat. But yeah, honestly some of the original songs just completely blow the licensed ones out of the water. The themes for Mimosa, Rekka for example. Too Big To Fail and 1,000,000 are honestly evenly matched in my mind.

35 - Negotiation (2:00:34) The sheer DEPTH of this track is incredible, you can almost feel yourself as Chai in the standoff. The constant tiptoeing and impacts with a layer of doubt all around overshadowed by a stubborn loyalty, the main little melody at the beginning. The rising rage, followed by a brief calm, and then it blasts off immediately again because Chai is a dumb little nugget brain and doesn't know what oblivious means, and the dramatic sounds that follow are like a siren telling you you've officially fucked up, and yet the doubt remains in the guitar even in the relentless assault. The frantic ending is beautiful as well, a hurried rush to succeed in the final QTE. I pity those of us who screwed that up, lol.
I totally screwed that up, but completely loved every single second of that fight and I still think it's my favorite. The tension and resolve from both sides is so well done, that it doesn't only feel that you're simply trying to defeat someone, but also save them in the process - and the consequences of failing to save Korsica from the people manipulating her feel so much worse than simply getting a Game Over against your usual boss, that you really do feel the need to suceed no matter what. The stakes in that fight really are at an all time high because of how well written and executed the whole thing was, and the impact of the attacks being consistently thrown at you, before having to resist an entire barrage of relentless attacks as the climax hits and you know you've fucked up and this is your last chance to make things right - that shit really made you feel like you're there and you have to endure and win. Absolute masterpiece of a fight.
Such a flexible dev team too. To go from something as atmospheric and moody as Ghostwire to the intensity and vibrant aesthetics of Hi-Fi RUSH is incredible.
I’m so hoping this game wins at least best Soundtrack at the game awards, or better yet gets at least nominated for GOTY. I want to hear a real audience chanting “Chai, Chai, Chai!!” along with the rhythm. It would be extremely hype and also heartwarming.

Mimosa's Boss theme is fire but man do I want the actual version with her added lyrics. Feels weird not hearing the "Fast as you can...etc." and the extra bridge during the rhythm mini game. Hi-Fi Rush is one of the games i play till this day because it is genuinely fun, Microsoft closing Tango is the biggest L they have taken so far. Its obvious with this and Sonys Helldivers fiasco proves modern gaming is a sinking ship.
To the people praising this game, please PLEASE don’t give the credit to Bethesda give it to Tango Gameworks. They are the ones who made it, developed it, and made the game what it is today. This goes to the people who love New Vegas. Don’t praise Bethesda. Praise Obsidian. I’m sorry I hate that Bethesda gets the credit to games they didn’t even make
I mean that's kinda how being a publisher goes though. Developers 100% deserve credit where it's due, but at the same time the funding and ability to make the game comes from the publisher (in this case Bethesda and Microsoft). Giving Bethesda Zero credit isn't a solution. It's just going to the opposite extreme. Just give credit fairly both ways. The game only exists due to a lot of people in various roles across the dev studio and publisher.
Phil, you make me angry, Phil! You shut down a company that was a booming success for literally no reason. If you wanted the Worst Company in America award from EA that badly I'll just make a new one.
I love the rush. It makes use of more than just your basic guitar riffs and drums, but also is incredibly reliant on those to push the simplicity of the "first song" the "tutorial song" it's a very high action piece with simple leads and dope/very fun rhythmic sections kind of how a beginner guitarist would make a song. The vocal melodies and the pipe organ, among other instruments that change around and are added into the song as it goes on just help to really sell how much fun can be had when making music. And at the break all of the instruments and vocalists get a moment to shine individually, but also together. And for the climax of the song? Everyone is playing at full blast like a beginner band deciding to just say "screw it, man let's just have fun!" And it shows in the game that you've pretty much gotten the hang of all the tutorial bits and are just going ham with all your newly acquired tools. The game basically is telling you the same thing. "Have fun!" This is just the first song. The rest of the songs have no where to go, but up. AND THEY DO Gj tango. You've truly shown us what diamonds in the rough look like. I hope to see more great games like this come out as we continue through the rest of 2023 and beyond

Hi! Just dropping this comment to let everyone here reading this that this game is freaking amazing. Although i do wish the final boss fight was reworked to be challenging and fun in the last phase of the fight. Other than that, the story, writing, the game's gimmick, soundtrack, art style and environments are done fantastic! Especially the characters which to me are the real highlight of the game. Amazing how a studio known for making three highly successful and popular horror games. (and one mobile game...we don't talk about that one.) Comes out of nowhere with a fun rhythm-action game. That is pretty much a chill game. Also, a real banger of a soundtrack.
This game was ridiculously good. It's so different from what Tango usually makes, and it's easily my favorite game from them, and one of the best I've played. The story was surprisingly good, even though it's pretty simple and I loved the characters. There's not a single thing I didn't enjoy from this game.

I hope that big game companies can take a few notes from Tango Gameworks because this was made incredibly well like it was made in the early 2000's and the fact that this was shadow dropped without prior knowledge These people pour the souls into this project, their blood sweat and tears for 5 years and you can tell they had confidences that this would be a hit and it is a damn good wakeup call to how things were.
That's quite right
Yep - Chai has one (1) brain cell, and 808 is batting it around like a toy mouse most of the time. :)
I absolutely love the drums in this song, it makes me keep this constant tension
i screwed it up and then loved every moment of the cutscene afterwards
Bethesda and tango have something special here. Can’t wait to see what’s next
Such a flexible dev team too. To go from something as atmospheric and moody as Ghostwire to the intensity and vibrant aesthetics of Hi-Fi RUSH is incredible.
@@QualbertGaming And Evil Within too, such a drastic change from their previous games, and they blew it out of the fucking water
Cheeky reference there. Glad we agree that this is Chai's catchphrase.
this didn't age well
I’m so hoping this game wins at least best Soundtrack at the game awards, or better yet gets at least nominated for GOTY. I want to hear a real audience chanting “Chai, Chai, Chai!!” along with the rhythm. It would be extremely hype and also heartwarming.
Welp at least it got Best Audio Design
Nah, that goes to Pizza Tower.
Rip to Tango and the potential HFR sequel, this was a wonderful game
PUBG...
It lives!!!
Good bye Chai! Rock forever!!
Oh, no! Rock again!
If anyone from Tango is going through the comments section - please know that we all love and will always cherish this amazing game you all created!! ❣
does anyone tell you the good news?
If this game doesn’t get AT LEAST nominated for Best Score & Music for the Game Awards 2023, I’m rioting
It did, didn't win but hey, it's more than enough
@Tvdvidro but they DID win Best Audio Design, so it's all good in the end
Need them Spotify releases NOW
still on YT Music 😁😉
NOW ❗️😭😭😭😭
WE ARE SO BACK!!!
Born too early to explore the planets
Born too late to explore the Earth
Born right on time to enjoy Hi-Fi Rush
Well first thing is up to Starfield :D
same
or born just at the right time to see another planet get pioneered and explore the ocean
You know what? I'll take it.
you can explore the Earth ! why not ?
I came here to say: WE ARE SO BACK, BABY!!!
I was really hoping for a sequel of any variation, whether it followed up with more Chai, or changed the concept to fit for a Lo-fi theme
03:39:29 honestly... this song is amazing. really makes you appreciate the love put into it
Mimosa's Boss theme is fire but man do I want the actual version with her added lyrics. Feels weird not hearing the "Fast as you can...etc." and the extra bridge during the rhythm mini game. Fantastic game, and truly a soundtrack to remember. Congrats to Tango for creating a game with so much passion and a clear vision!
Do you mean you want the lyrics from the real song put over the non copyrighted version?
@@silverreaps6803 Moreso an official release of the Fast as You Can Cover used in the game. I can't find it anywhere, unfortunately.
@@WeRtheHelp ohh right I get what you mean, id also like rekkas copyrighted song cover available online

Fantastic game, fantastic soundtrack, fantastic characters, fantastic surprise, fantastic CAT.
Hi-Fi Rush is one of the games i play till this day because it is genuinely fun, Microsoft closing Tango is the biggest L they have taken so far. Its obvious with this and Sonys Helldivers fiasco proves modern gaming is a sinking ship.
Tango gameworks are back!
To the people praising this game, please PLEASE don’t give the credit to Bethesda give it to Tango Gameworks. They are the ones who made it, developed it, and made the game what it is today. This goes to the people who love New Vegas. Don’t praise Bethesda. Praise Obsidian. I’m sorry I hate that Bethesda gets the credit to games they didn’t even make
🤓
But I'm 100% sure without Bethesda new Vegas or hi fi rush wouldn't have been a thing
Bethesda is the publisher dude. They deserve credit too.
@@wanderingwobb6300 Microsoft does most of the marketing tho
Hi Fi Rush is a perfect game in every way
Without a doubt, this is the game of the year. You definitely need to play it
Someone should have both Chai and 808 just chilling out listening to different rock songs or lo-fi beats, with the odd pop song or electronic piece.
2:00:33 Negotiation is by far my favorite track, but this soundtrack slaps as heck
Negotiation is one of my favs tracks, definitely add too emotions to fight with Korsica
This is such a great track 🔥❤️
This game has some of the best music I've ever heard. The sound design team did a fantastic job making every piece of music shine!
AND THEY DO
Gj tango. You've truly shown us what diamonds in the rough look like. I hope to see more great games like this come out as we continue through the rest of 2023 and beyond
40 - Through the Halls of History 2:12:22 has to be my ABSOLUTE favorite!!!! I love the jazz influence so much! You find that the more you jam to the music the easier the gameplay becomes lol
Track 8 was also just probably one of the most fun tracks in the game, which makes having this song with it even better.
@@LifeOfBrother5000 YES!!!! the backdrops the dialogue the scenery the comedy and the plot …. everything was just AMAZING im so glad this song plays during it!
Been lookin for this comment
RIP TANGO GAMEWORKS. You gave us one of the best games of this era, definitely will forever be in my top 10 favorite games of all time. And Microsoft? Fuck right off 👍
does anyone tell you the good news?
A great game with an amazing soundtrack. Congratulations to the whole team! It's not often something is announced and released on the same day, without any sort of leak too. A true triumph!!
One of the few recent games that just makes you happy by playing. Been missing that feeling
Great Soundtrack and a great game.
I´ve enjoyed every minute playing this game.
Finished it twice by the way (Hard and Normal).
When can we expect a physical / retail release of Hi - Fi Rush ???
The songs used in replacement of the licensed songs are almost if not even better!!!!! It’s so amazing how much work the team put into making this soundtrack :,)
Which ones are the replacements?
@@luchirimoya i think all the songs with the (extended mix) were the ones that bethesda recreated in replacement of the licensed songs for copyright!
You’re right, “The Fizzith” sounds better than “Wolfgang’s 5th Symphony”
1:13:11 I have been waiting FOREVER for them to release this one bit of the song. It hits SO hard.
Microsoft deserves every plague and misfortune imaginable for ending Tango Gameworks. Such a waste of awesome talent and passion.
Man, Korsikas music gets SO INTENSE as the fight goes on, this game is so much fun!
Korsica* but I know what you mean! It goes from slight suspense to “you’re in deep shit”
Tango Gameworks, thank you guys for letting me, a PS5 owner, get to try out this wonderful game of yours. And to hell with Microsoft and their BS decisions! So please Tango, while you may be gone, please share more stories of this world and characters either a prequel, sequel, or even in between the main game itself. Thank you once again Tango. You guys are future rockstars!
Crazy how tango went from such a giant leap with Evil Within to this. Can't wait to see what they'll do next. I'm sure it'll be as unique as this!
Man...
Some of my favorite tracks are:
Intruder, Negotiation, Through the Halls of History, The Pulse/The Rush, Heatwave (Värrt mix), Captive Normals, Too Big to Fail Surfacing, and Reflection. But really, I love all the tracks here.
Best comment.
Upbeat songs to destroy robots and relax to [3 hours mix]
Thank you tango gameworks without you I would of never gotten to listen to all this good music 😢❤
does anyone tell you the good news?
My favorite one was the Making Things Is Hard.
As a software developer, when I heard it in the last bit of the credits, I was speachless. This game had a lot of meta content and 4th wall breaker linking to it being a game, about immersion and so on.
But this last song caught me off guard. Nicely done.
I WILL be buying the physical copy when it comes on sale at Limited Run.
Thank you Tango Gameworks for your amazing games. We will all miss you so much.
Until we meet again,
Rock on! 🤘🎸🐱
I don't know if I can even do that in good faith. I imagine all the profit from here on will only go to Microsoft now that the devs are gone.
@@RTDice11 Its either you preserve this game on physical copies, or it is delisted and gone forever. Like PT. Your choice.
Tango is insane. Imagine just 30 guys made this masterpiece
I remember watching credits for 10 minutes... I don't think that only 30 guys made this.
@@PongWithBreakout internally they are 30, but there be always credit to every dude offered helping with marketing , publishing credits, community managers, game testers, familiy, friends. etc. I hope its 30 and I'm not wrong lol but they hiring rn so now ther are much more people
I would really like these songs separated in their own videos and then combined in a playlist so that they work perfectly with TH-cam Music 🤔😅
There is a playlist by Case Tech279 that has this, and includes the licensed songs too
Honestly Hi-Fi Rush was such a friggin' blast to play. Yeah, I kinda suck at this whole rhythm stuff and I frequently got too frustrated at the quick time events leaving me to take a bit long to complete the game, but it was such an awesome experience. Having everything build up and "learn" (furiously click things until the foe fell) the game, then climax again and again before I even got to Kale, gawd. Listening to Whirring brought a blast of 2008 memories to me, sucker punching me right after Reflection, I couldn't play, it got me tearing up like that XD
Feel that, first enemy QTE Rhythm game during Zanzo's stage had me floored for a solid 30 minutes since my first playthrough was in Very Hard, I'd get hit like 3 times and die immediately.
I agree, the story is nothing earth shattering, but the characters, humor and everything else makes it a masterpiece
One of the best soundtracks ever
A mesmerizing blend of 70s and 2000s rock that I just can't get over with... its just too good to be true... God bless Tango Gameworks... Amen...
WOOOOO GOTY FOR AUDIO DESIGN I VOTED YOU FOR 5 NOMINATIONS WOOOOOOO
Didn’t win GOTY for Best Soundtrack, that went to TLOU PT 1. For some fucking reason
@@KerMaWaffLe i havent listened to its ost yet so ion have an opinion
@@CDJAM-webm It’s mostly just eerie acoustic guitars are the songs and ambient Ochestrals, that’s what the Game Awards counts as a superior soundtrack. I’m salty if you can’t tell because Pizza Tower and HiFi Rush were nominated
stuff like this is the reason why I am so glad i exist in this current era.
This very quickly became one of if not my favourite game. Clear to see the massive passion and hard work put into everything in this game. Really hope to see more from the devs!!
When a publisher understand it's audience. Well done!
I hope that big game companies can take a few notes from Tango Gameworks because this was made incredibly well like it was made in the early 2000's and the fact that this was shadow dropped without prior knowledge
These people pour the souls into this project, their blood sweat and tears for 5 years and you can tell they had confidences that this would be a hit and it is a damn good wakeup call to how things were. This game is fun day 1, no added fees, no day 1 patch. Just fun, Stupid fun.
If they make a sequel I hope they do the same they did with this game and take their time

Damn shame it wasn't nominated for GOTY, my personal vote
@@J221. for real, though i didnt see it possibly winning because it didnt really gather a community which would vote for it and isnt an AAA game, it should get a seperate category, something like "most passionate game" or "old school game" or something like this. its just a shame games like this dont get enough credit these days
@@INSiDErria honestly love the game, first time in a good minute since a modern game was just a game and not a cinematic interactive film, nothing wrong with those of done right

This game takes me back to the days of the PS2 and Gamecube era where these platformers were HELLA fun! Hi-Fi truly had achieved that dream and feeling!
Made every attempt to not spoil myself with this game. Just started it yesterday. Holy crap am I pulled in immediately. Such a vibrant, fun, and thrilling world to be in.
I’m no good at rhythm games but god damn is this fun
Very happy this video exists, I’ve been having an incredible time with this game and love the entire soundtrack. It’s all so groovy and catchy, genuinely great music
