    Just came across you guy's, i look forward to the build I personally think this is the best way to go towing a van whether it's a 2 or 4wd, the light weight 4wd just don't cut it towìng something heavy, cheers guys its going to be a great time ahead 👍

    Hi guys I just come across your channel and subscribed straight away I’ve just picked up my new Isuzu nps 75-155 but was told I couldn’t get the suspension seats this year even after I ordered the seats 12 months ago and they couldn’t say when or if I could get them next year that was very disappointing because I just had to go out to longreach to pick something up out there and it is very rough to ride in if I new 12 months ago when I ordered it that I couldn’t get the seats I would of got the suspension done, but I’m very happy with the truck just now trying to get a box built for it, looking forward to seeing you guys on the road one day cheers I’m sure you will be very happy with it like I am 👍🍻🇦🇺

    We know a few folk who have had trouble with the 17" rims when towing. It's not been the GVM so much as the ability of the smaller rims and softer sidewalls to transfer the required torque through a part-time 4WD system to move a heavier combination. The tyres tend to chew out around the bead after relatively low kms. I think the 17s are great for a single vehicle set up, but the 19.5s and heavier duty tyres are the best choice for a truck and heavier van.

    • @accelerateoffgridtouring
      @accelerateoffgridtouring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment - yep 100% agree we've got the 19's and so far no issues - we are about 10 tonnes all up with all water tanks full. So we are def on the heavier side. We've been fulltime for 3 months.

      @contributor7219 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@accelerateoffgridtouring Great to hear you are out and about full time. We do some longer trips (we're in Aus) but still come back to our home base. Our Canter is a short wheelbase, so we pull a lightweight offroad trailer for a bit of extra flexibility. We're on the 19.5s too.

  • @timnorth7524
    @timnorth7524 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They would be 35s on 19.5 rims I think not 37s. I have a zone 20.6 behind my 75-155 been on the road a year or so and love it. RTT sounds amazing! I think from experience the canopy build and fit out was far more stressful than finding and building the truck but all great fun at the end of the day. Safe travels!

    • @contributor7219
      @contributor7219 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Their truck is running the Founders 305/70s on 19.5s - around 930mm dia, so 37.5" give or take. We're running Toyo 285/70s on our 19.5" ATW rims, and they're certainly 35s.

    Because you are towing a large van this will be perfect, and it is built like a tank. These trucks are tough and designed from the ground up to haul the weight, diffs, gearbox etc.

    great vid and super interested in how it turns out. What type ball park cost is the truck to the stage in the vid vs a chopped 200 or 300 series?

    • @accelerateoffgridtouring
      @accelerateoffgridtouring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, Thanks for your comment.
      As it sits at the end of video 1 it was around $160k
      This is:
      ● Suspension
      ● Tray
      ● BarWork
      ● Suspension Seats (not shown in the video)
      ● Single Wheel Conversion
      All up when finished, with boat, trailer, 2 roof top tents and full electrical system 400ah lithium, redarc tvms management system, 3000w inverter, 2 DC2DC Chargers, compressors, 2 fridges, 2 water tanks, pumps.... - absolutely everything, it would come in around the $300k mark.
      A very similar price point for a chopped landcruiser but we have sooo much more freedom to tow whatever we want and carry 11tones of STUFF 🙂

    I.m pretty sure you definitely need a LR truck license. License requirements go on GVM, UP to 4.5 t gvm on car , etc. Many ram owners are working this out the hard way. Its got nothing to do with actual weight of the vehicle empty or loaded.That truck has a 7.5 t GVM. You would have to have it derated to under 4500kg GVM to be legally registered for a car license. ie..engineered and replated,

    • @accelerateoffgridtouring
      @accelerateoffgridtouring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly best to talk to All Terrain, they sourced the vehicle and did the super single conversion. With Suspension, Tray, Bars, Winches, suspension seats, centre console, water & fuel tanks, aribag kit's hitch and so much more... We are in about $160k

    So guys, awesome vid and seems my experience with our new 200 series we bought to build and tour is not unique and many have beat me to the conclusion that the purchase and upgrades are expensive but still very limited. My plan on build will put the vx at $170k with a gcm of 6850 only.
    So question to you is if my train of thought is correct we can do an NPS dual cab for around $150k but double the gcm.
    Am I in the ballpark?

    • @accelerateoffgridtouring
      @accelerateoffgridtouring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tony,
      Your best best would be to talk to All Terrain Warriors for pricing. We are in around $150k without a canopy (just tray) but we did tick a lot of extras like suspension seats, kings suspension etc.

    • @tonyf7997
      @tonyf7997 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@accelerateoffgridtouring - cheers for this. I have contacted ATW today and as I am local will make an appointment to go up and chat as they are flat strap and amending prices as I write this.
      I have done some rough sums and $200k would see it with what you guys have + canopy.. on the 19.5” rims and M/T’s …
      A lot more bang for buck when doing the LC vs Isuzu and have a dedicated overlander that is very capable off grid for months at a time if stocked right.
      Cheers
