This song will always remind me of when I first began a friendship with my husband, who's a dj. We would have long conversations about music. And one day I played this song for him (which he had never heard before) & then he said "I know that sample!" & played "A Day at the Park" for me (which I'd never heard before). It's a trip how music connects people. 🤗❤
I feel this. I've always told myself, the guy I end up with has to have the same taste in music as me. I know it may seem silly, but loving and appreciating good music matters to me. I'm so glad and happy for you two that you've found your person.
@lofiheadchange @islandNeni - I totally understand! I'm truly thrilled to hear such poetic brilliance in hip-hop! The content we get nowadays is pure garbage, but hearing an artist like J. Cole showcase unparalleled lyricism and relevance is beyond refreshing. His ability to weave profound chapters of a teenage life with such articulate finesse over a beat is nothing short of life goals! Not to side with anyone but.....Team Cole. This sh** fuego.
Alpha you can tell this is a Cole production if you ever seen any of his videos. All his videos have a movie vibe to it “power trip” “she knows” “crooked smile” “Wet Dreams” “G.O.M.D.”
Props to whomever directed the beautiful night out between the kids that was framed so universally at the end. My man didn't get what he wanted (the interrupted kiss, and probably more), but he was till smiling at the end like 'this was a good day'.
This whole song and video is a masterpiece. The production level, lyrics, and concept is all on point. Hip hop paints a story for you, and this song does that.

Maybe for you young cats Cole might be the reason you're here.
Love this!!! 🙌🙏😁
I feel this. I've always told myself, the guy I end up with has to have the same taste in music as me. I know it may seem silly, but loving and appreciating good music matters to me. I'm so glad and happy for you two that you've found your person.
Same here. I have a huge range of music I listen too as well. If you don't like good music I'm out
@lofiheadchange @islandNeni - I totally understand! I once refused to go out on a second date with a guy because I asked, "who's your favorite rapper of all time?" and he said it was a tie between Trick Daddy & Petey Pablo. 🤦🏽♀️
My partner and I don't have to always agree on *everything* but bad taste in music is where I draw the damn line, lol.
Damn he pulled you off a sample flip
Royce da 5'9" is one of the people who gave me courage to quit alcohol.
Good to see that you found your way. Please keep it that way & never look back.
congratulations
Yea man. Congrats on that and GOD BLESS.
Congrats!
Man that's pretty bad if you don't have a successful plan
This is exactly what I needed to get through the rest of the semester 🙏🏿
Royce + cole = masterpiece

Royce is one of the most underrated lyrical rappers in history...J cole’s fire as always..just hoping for an Em, Cole collaboration GOD damn..🔥
Was fortunate enough to ride the Boblo Boat back in 89. They only time I've been to the D. Pistons won that year too. Great memories...

JCole killed him on his own shit
K Peezy Royce vs Cole is no competition, dont be a fool. Royce would destroy Cole at his best.
J. cole's voice takes you to another planet.
he started singing , I got goosebumps all over
J Cole is not from Planet Detroit, so you may have a point.
Feels like this dropped yesterday but this song probably just got me reminiscing
never been to Detroit or heard of a Boblo Boat but damn both their storytelling skills and this nostalgic beat have me feeling like im there right now

Cole gotta be one of the best storytellers ever man..
What an amazing verse
Nas. DMX. Andre 3k.Eminem. all better than J.Cole as far as story tellers.
And that’s just off the top of my head. Way more I’m missing I’m sure.
@@Flosseverydayhe said cole is ONE of the best not THE best smh
@@Flosseverydaycan’t you read Bitch ass Nigga 🙄🙄🙄 ONE OF THE BEST!!!!
Seeing Cole's progression from 2010 till now is mad

I'm a simple guy. I see J Cole. I click. 🔥
Jeezy Jp can't disrespect Royce tho.
Jeezy Jp 🔥👀🔥😁
I'm truly thrilled to hear such poetic brilliance in hip-hop! The content we get nowadays is pure garbage, but hearing an artist like J. Cole showcase unparalleled lyricism and relevance is beyond refreshing. His ability to weave profound chapters of a teenage life with such articulate finesse over a beat is nothing short of life goals! Not to side with anyone but.....Team Cole. This sh** fuego.
Royce is soo underrated
J. Cole had a GOD flow on this. NO ONE ELSE COULD HAVE PUT BETTER WORDS TO THIS, INCLUDING THE FLOW.
Legendary. I almost cry everytime J. Cole does someshit like this to me man. Royce and Cole? Plus Cole with the video direction? Man! 😢
I SWEAR I'M GOIN' THRU SIMILAR EMOTIONS/WITHDRAWALS!
Man, Cole has some dope ass production and now directing videos too? This man is too slept on sometimes.
I'm pretty certain Cole had a hand in the track production as well. Dude is fire
nah, it was cool and dre
Alpha you can tell this is a Cole production if you ever seen any of his videos. All his videos have a movie vibe to it “power trip” “she knows” “crooked smile” “Wet Dreams” “G.O.M.D.”
Props to whomever directed the beautiful night out between the kids that was framed so universally at the end. My man didn't get what he wanted (the interrupted kiss, and probably more), but he was till smiling at the end like 'this was a good day'.
I saw Royce featuring Cole and immediately knew this was gonna be fire 🔥🔥
yeah
Phil facts!
J. Cole is just amazing.
The samples are fire. The verses are fire man. Two legends bless us 🙏
Got some dope beats on my channel. Bless up 🙏
No one has dropped more quality content than J Cole in the last ten years.

@@dopeyrelaxingsounds8607Fuck no

RIP your mom we love you
Colleen Murphy salute to you and the memory of your mom
Colleen Murphy Memorial Days were the sickest!
J. Cole tells beautiful stories like the great Bob Marley.
this is what happens when two real rappers get together
lolhahalol2 classic
lolhahalol2 #fact
This whole song and video is a masterpiece. The production level, lyrics, and concept is all on point. Hip hop paints a story for you, and this song does that.
This is one of the best rap songs period. If you can't appreciate hip hop when you hear this, give up on life. This is life.
Beaste Meauxde on point kkkk true sht
Facts.
Beaste Meauxde Word bro.
true said bro pure hip hop bro

"..We had no Boblo Boat, but I could note those times just like a bible quote.."------the equivalent of Navy Pier for us...then riding slow and burning one, down Lake Shore Drive...Love from Chicago...this track is FIRE!!!
definitely LSH riding music on a Sunday afternoon while they got the yachts out on the water.
Oh man .. I'm from chicago but I've been in Florida this past month and I fly back up to Chicago tonight 👌🏼 first thing I want to do is cruise down LSD with all the city lights . I know the feeling too well.
J Cole has a way of just swooping in and taking over a song
Factssssss
Tevin Thomas couldn’t be closer to the truth
Love this line “This was my main concern back when concerns were lesser
Nowadays, I often yearn to press the backspace button
Or hit return, but life is not no word processor”
So underrated

Thank you Royce and J. Cole....This shit brought back memories for real. We use to drive up there from Toledo and catch the ferry. Good times man......
Royce so slept on & I don’t even have to mention how J Cole doesn’t have a Grammy yet. #2Legends
@Dubzzz
He said fuck the Grammy lol.
Mostly all talented rappers back in the day don't have one.
yea he got one wit 21 savage
give me 30 seconds please🙏🏽 th-cam.com/video/a1VfycbMoSw/w-d-xo.html
Nas never had one. That shouldn't be debatable. He ain't the most talented mc of his generation even
@@presidentsalad2319 He definitely is.
Wasn't sure about the directing credits, but I could have sworn this Jam was produced by J.Cole. Seeing that he directed the video in the end wasn't farfetched. J.Cole's singing, rapping and production (plus directing) put him at the top of rap artistes to ever emerge in this generation.
The true G.O.A.T(Greatest of All Time)!!!!
The rap game NEEDED this... two legendary emcees... and thank you Cole for directing this video... took me back to my youth..... BOBLO BOAT
That Cole verse is fire 🔥
JAMES Dean they both was fire, but tell yeah , Cole flamed that shit, very underrated
JAMES Dean that was ft Royce
JAMES Dean Made Me Shed a tear.
Legendary flow by J. Cole in his verse.
James Taylor I'm not taking anything away from it, but that's a vintage Royce flow
its alright definitely not legendary
I love coming back to this song because this Cole verse started his historical run of features & it's as good as it was when I first heard it
