So let’s once and for all set the record straight on what’s better to get people to your blog - Pinterest or Google, what works best for beginners and what are the advantages of each search platform?
But first, What is Pinterest? What is Google? What are Search Engines? Why are they important for blog traffic? And What works best for beginners and what doesn’t? Omg, is your head exploding right now.
Are you new to search engines, and you just want to attract people to your blog, but you just don’t know how? Maybe you thought once you launched your blog or website, people would kind of just magically show up. Now they didn’t, and you’re stuck. You hear about all these different ways to grow your traffic, but you don’t have time to do it all. I mean, I get it. And I’ve been there too. So in today’s video, I’m going to have the ultimate battle between Google and Pinterest.

SEO really grew my blog around 2 / 3 months for me as a beginner, Pinterest started growing my blog around 6 months. People said Pinterest works faster than SEO and I guess sometimes it depends.
In one month with Google alone, I quadrupled daily views in my 5th to 6th month. Pinterest stayed stagnant in views no matter how much I improved.
A lot of my keywords ranked on the first page for Google. While on Pinterest, none of my pins ranked high because there was too much competition even with Pinterest SEO. It was a lot easier to rank on Google for some reason.

Wow! Congrats on your amazing success with Google. You're for sure right, it depends on each blog, business, and niche and if it's working for you keep doing what you're doing. Did you have prior experience with Google SEO because I know many people are feeling very overwhelmed when it comes to it or can you share a good tip on what people should be focusing on? Hi i am not Katie but i would say the finance and invest niche is probably not a good fit for Pinterest. I would look into Twitter ads or Facebook ads for that

I disagree with Geoff. I have 170 pins saved on my personal Pinterest account under the board “Personal Finance and Investing” and I’m always adding more to it!

@@geoffreyholliday1971 Looks like my reply post didn’t go through- no, these are the pins I save for personal use. The creators of them make money though. I easily found 5 different blogs that have mediavine ads on them from this board. I can’t say how much of their traffic comes from Pinterest, but I’ll bet they didn’t create those pins just for me!
