This is by far my favorite group! I really appreciate that you all can articulate differing opinions respectfully and allow everyone plenty of time to talk.
I’ve been a cast member for 25 years that’s half my AND their century. And we got NOTHING but the name badge and a cupcake. 25 years ago they gave us a huge statue at Christmas and food galore and50% off merch for the first time and they TOOK THAT away! It’s not the same
Remember the 90's and early 2000k Holiday parties for cast members??? At the Polynesian, Contemporary, MGM ... etc. We got perks of riding the attractions after hours with lights on for cast appreciation, better gifts, awesome special pin sales, and other merch and food like wine from Epcot, with significant discounts. I could go on. Those were the days!!! I'm no longer a cast member and most really good people have left or been demoted or had their positions eliminated. At least I have the memories. It's sad to hear that it's even worse than that! Thanks for trying to keep the magic alive Martha! 👍
Deni is 1000% correct. Epcot and its history deserve a fireworks show exclusive to that park that you could not find anywhere else and it's just devastating that it's being thrown out. Harmonious is nice show that totally doesn't belong there.
Yes! I know they’re trying more to get this vibe with the Tuesday show, but when it’s a directive and not a natural consequence of relationships, it’s clear to viewers.
It’s not that we wanted to hear someone important to speak, although that does have some weight, it’s the fact there was no recognition of those who put their blood, sweat and tears in creating WDW, some type of tribute to Walt, Roy, all the Imagineers, & cast members (especially OG ones still there or retired) for the general public on the actual anniversary date would have been simple and was expected IMO - especially based on past milestone anniversary’s.Even if they just had past and current cast members come out and simply wave to the crowd as a recording played of some of Walt’s and Roy’s speeches, along with an added appropriate commentary would’ve been perfect & meaningful.
I agree, and have said much of the same, but that’s not Walt Disney World. I feel like the mentality of WDW is “Cast Members have the chance every day to make magic for guests and hear how they’re appreciated.” It’s not fair, but legacy and WDW don’t seem to go hand in hand right now for some reason. The question is how can we make WDW more about that and is it was most guests want or just us massive fans on social? Not discrediting your statement, just trying to ask more questions upon it.
I completely agree with DisAmy. The average fan sees DISNEY and not DL and WDW. So when you talk about the two different personalities of the parks, I think that's lost on the average fan. As a fan that grew up lying on my stomach, head in my hands watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom followed by The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights on my parents little TV, it seemed a total insult to not pay homage to Walt and all the creators and cast members over the years that have brought us the magic. Yes it's a totally different era, but I've always preferred a healthy dose of classic Disney. *Sigh* I don't know what I'm saying but I think their definitely should have been some Disney bigwigs, old and new cast members and even some classic Disney kid celebrities (Jodie Foster, etc) on that stage to give the celebration a more well rounded "We are 50 years old" feel.
@@DISUnlimited For that particular day, being the 50th - especially during still what is a trying time for a lot, and definitely for the audience that made sure they were present - a simple nod to Walt, Roy & the OGs etc would have gone a looong way & none of us would’ve even be going in circles about it. For example- It’s great what they’ve done with the Vault Collection, and with old photos at Steakhouse 71, and of course all the ones that are sprinkled around different parts of the resort like at Riviera, so just a little bit of that nod & tribute to the past on October 1 to remember those that made it possible at the top of the morning ceremony would’ve been just enough….just a sprinkle of that is what a large majority were looking for, but were left empty. But in the big scheme of things does it make the celebration for those individuals any less? Not necessarily, but to me it’s more an aspect of respect to the creators that should’ve been given at that special “commemorative” moment. ✨🤷🏼♀️🏰💕 But hey - maybe they’ll do something on dedication day 😆 I don’t hold my breath tho!
@@asudevil316 tourists yes - But if Disney themselves is going to pump up a big 50th celebration that is supposed to last 18 months, yada yada, but yet have no nod to the individuals who made it all possible on actual day of, just a short quip even - to me that’s just slighting the Disney name & disrespectful & felt hollow IMO - but hey, they still getting paid tho 💵 We can still whine about tho, no fault in that. There’s plenty of things that other people whine about regarding Disney that I think is preposterous. But even with this faux pas I think they made - at the end of the day - guess who’s still going? Def this girl 😆🤷🏼♀️😬💸
I’m a Disney shareholder. At this point I am just waiting for the day I can cast my votes to buy Chapek out. I don’t care that it’s rewarding him for failure. I just want him gone. I’m sick of discount Lex Luther running Disney already.
Craig, you are an excellent host. You have a solid foundation of Disney knowledge, a dry sense of humour, and encourage others to express their thoughts. Off the Rails has quickly become one of my favourite DIS shows.
Thank you for your updates on the 50th anniversary celebrations! I enjoy all of your hard work bringing us info and videos of all the new offerings. I can't wait to go back to my favorite place. You all are during a great job and I appreciate all you do to keep us up to date on everything Disney.
Pete is getting to be too much lately, he was moaning how Epcot Forever was the funeral pyre for Epcot, then the new show comes along and he’s like it’s so awesome and we shouldn’t complain
@@Keith-wd5ey I assume it is, you don’t want to bad mouth the hand that feeds you, he’s whole stick depends on people traveling to and moving to Orlando
This show is so much better than the Tuesday show. I'm very hit or miss with the Tuesday show depending on who's there. But we have never missed an Off the Rails.
Also, for anyone who hasn't seen Disneyland Paris's 25th birthday celebrations in 2017... Please TH-cam it - I was lucky to be there for that and it was single-handedly the best Disney park day I've ever had! It wasn't about merchandise and expensive snacks or birthday special food items! They celebrated their CAST MEMBERS and the fans! It was something truly magical.
Thank you Deni for pointing out how Walt is not getting the recognition he should receive during this anniversary celebration. He has become an after thought, and that is quite sad. Deni's take on Epcot is so true. It's the park that has so much substance, that is completely under appreciated in every aspect, and Deni gets it.Thanks to Ryno for pointing out , and he is 100% accurate, this is going to run out of steam very quickly. Ask yourself this question, is there anything that you would tell someone coming to Disney for the first time, you absolutely have to experience this...
My favorite Dis panel and my favorite Dis show. You get everyone’s opinions and I respect all of their views. I feel like you get a well rounded take on it all. Thanks Craig for your final comments. Loved that!!!
I appreciated Deni’s explanation of why Harmonious doesn’t feel like Epcot to her, it helped me understand that perspective as when I’ve listened to the soundtrack (I haven’t watched any videos) it feels VERY on message with the global nature of Epcot. I’m also wondering if having the animation on screens is what takes the IP factor over the top, because minus the narration I loved the music, particularly the Someday finale!
Everything that Jackie is saying ! “COVID isn’t over” I thought the crowd level was way to much ( watching from the comfort of home ) would have loved to have been there to see the sunrise over Magic Kingdom ❤️ bet it was beautiful. The grounds and buildings looked amazing for the 50th. But I sincerely hoped that they would have included Walt & Roy into the celebration , because wasn’t this day about celebrating the 50 year history of the parks and the man that imagined all this . What we got a 2 float cavalcade with characters in their new costumes . I mean I loved this , but that’s pretty much all we got , beside lots and lots of merchandise, that some people were fighting over . Looking forward to trying the new 50th snacks around WDW when we get there and of course Steakhouse 71 a and “the chili” . Also agree with what Deni said about “Enchantment” it should have been the topping to our park day …. It was not . “It’s was not reflective of the park experience”! If possible , hoping that Disney will work on this .
With crowds there's not much they can do beyond limiting capacity. When everyone wants to be at the same place at the same time, crowds will gather and bunch up. (Fireworks, etc.) We're not going until early 2023 to catch the tail end of the celebration.
Explain college football games? No outbreaks. Explain concerts? No outbreaks. If your sick stay home. Get the pinch and get over it. If you had it then your good to go. Wow.......
@@andytekel I guess you've bought the lie that you can't get it or spread it with the "pinch". It may lessen your symptoms when you get it, but you're just as susceptible as everyone else.
Never said you can't get it. Said it is not as dire as some believe. If you are vaccinated or had it or both then it is the same as getting a flu. Take whatever precautions your comfortable with. But do not live in a bubble because someone tells you to or expect others to live in that bubble as well. We all have the right to choose as we feel fit. No one has the the right to dictate what is right or wrong. We all take precautions and try to live life.
For those of us that can only visit every few years, each trip to WDW always feels new. So it is interesting to hear from those of you that live close by and can visit often. Sometimes it is hard to relate to you guys.
Just want to clarify Chloe works for MiceChat not AllEars, but they are just a few of my good friends. We see each other a ton, obviously have quite a bit in common, and we all understand each other because we all do the same thing. It's just natural to be friends.
@@JohnAJohnson I watch a mix of non corporate & corporate. I so appreciate the stuff that assists vacationers have “the perfect day” or trip planning or even the historical tidbits about attractions, etc. I cannot wait until theDis staff & other corporates put Genie, Genie+, etc. in use. All that helps me plan a trip.
Really appreciated hearing everyone’s opinions. I’m not a big fan of Enchanted but that’s mainly because the song didn’t hit the emotional notes for me. If it did for others I can certainly understand how a show that is basically HEA 2.0 would hit differently. Disney has a baseline of competence with their MK nighttime spectacular and I felt like this barely rose above that baseline where Wishes and HEA exceeded it Also, I’m very bitter that HEA got replaced after a couple years while Fantasmic, a show highlighting Disney’s newest movie-Pocahontas, has not received the update that venue and all of us fans deserve.
Great show! I really loved hearing everyone’s full opinions, good, bad and otherwise, from all different aspects. As someone who watched it from home, I was disappointed that there was no ceremony on the morning of. The Bobs put on a show for the media, but nothing for the guests who got to the park before the sun came up. What is that about? It kind of shows where their priorities lie 🙄 When the parks first reopened last year, we stayed at the Contemporary and our bellhop had been there since opening day in 1971. It was an amazing experience to get to chat with him, I wish there had been SOMETHING for him and other opening day CMs. Other than that, re harmonious and enchantment; it is what it is, I’m sure they’ll be amazing in person (but I still detest those barges there all day). I’m excited that the celebration lasts 18 months, so more people can experience it. I’m happy to see more and more magic slowly coming back to Disney.
Couldn't agree with you more Deni!!!!!!! The problem with Harmonious is that it isn't an Epcot show, Epcot has a long history of its own identity, its own themes, its own music. The past shows have always been something more than just Disney music, the original Illuminations was actual music from the different countries, not Disney music just recorded in a different language. Reflections of Earth told a story about gathering and celebrating together with an original story. Epcot forever celebrated what had been in Epcot, Harmonious isn't about Epcot, isn't about the global community, its about marketing Disney music around the world. The tech is cool, but they should have told an original story in the way you can in Epcot and the Lagoon.
Great show as always. It was nice to listen to a fair, balanced and respectful discussion. This just goes to show once again that this is the best show on the Dis. And I agree that Enchantment is fine for what it is. Do I wish it was more about the parks? Yes. But it’s still a beautiful show. Now Harmonious? I’m trying to like it. I really am but I’m not there yet. If it was in the MK I’d love it. But I’m not a fan of it in Epcot. It just doesn’t fit and there is no emotional connection for me.
I am watching this a week late. Loved this episode, it seemed so genuine, because you did not hesitate to say what you did not like.I will not watch Harmonious, unless it’s in person, but I know now not to expect too much, but I believe I will still be disappointed since I loved Illuminations so much for so many years. For unforeseen circumstances we had to leave WDW on Sept. 30, although we were supposed to be there until 10/6. After listening to y’all speak your minds and give information about how things went on the 50st and after watching a few Live streams, I have to say I am almost glad we were NOT there anymore. The crowds, the lines, the wait times for merch, fireworks and special shows… would have just not been very enjoyable. So thank you so much for an honest picture of what really happened!
I love to hear everyone's opinions. I did not watch either livestream or any videos entirely of the shows so I can experience it first hand in a few months. But I am super excited to try all the food!
Of all the types of vlogs you do, “Off the Rails” is my favorite. It’s difficult to hear any negative thoughts but I appreciate & accept everyone’s point of view. Lately, I sense that those who have easy access to WDW are much more critical vs someone like me that lives far away and doesn’t get there very often. We’re in Hawaii and going on our first Disney Cruise next month and also celebrating the 50th after the cruise (haven’t been there since 2014). We booked the WDW portion thru Dreams Unlimited/Elaine. I’m sure we will absolutely love just being there and won’t have anything bad to say.
Difficult to hear any negative thoughts? How have you made it through the last 20 months? That’s the real question. I envy your Hawaiian 🌺 eschewing of negativity. You will love the cruise!
@@Wildbarley 🤣 I was only speaking specifically about negative reviews of WDW. I’m sure we’ll have only good things to say because we’ll just be thrilled to be there. Aloha!
Agree. I just got back from WDW with family and friends. They all had a good time and loved the show. They do not go often though. They don't know the story of Epcot or cared. The minute the show ended they ran to see if any rides were open. lol
Agree. I’ve been to Disney maybe as many as 10 times total in my life (WDW, DL, DCL) 4 in the last 4 years and that’s with 18 months off due to the pandemic. This definitely gives me an entirely different perspective form locals. Who are in the park often. I like hearing the observations and even the nit-picking on here. Sometimes the “criticisms” are the very things that make me say, “hey, I want to do that!”
Jackie nailed it with the very unfavorable Disney Parks livestream of Harmonious. It really gave a bad first impression of the show to tons & tons of people.
For me, the thing about Harmonious is that it is generically Disney. I would like to see something more tied to Epcot, and not just music performed in other languages. Other Epcot shows have reflected the personality of the park. The Beacons of Light on Spaceship Earth completely upstaged everything else. And I don’t think the barges are worth the Harmonious payoff. And yes, I DO care about the sight lines and always have.
Great discussion! I completely agree with Deni about her thoughts on both Enchantment and Harmonious. One thing I’ll add to Enchantment is that I think it might appeal more to this generation’s kids who recognize and resonate with the characters from the recent and fairly recent Disney animated movies they have watched. That being said, I too enjoyed Enchantment. I thought it was a solid and appropriate show for the Magic Kingdom park. Yes, Disney’s live stream of the shows did not do the shows justice. Thanks everybody for sharing your thoughts and opinions and being respectful to others; it’s ok to agree to disagree. I am also excited about the new food offerings; especially Steakhouse 71 even though I don’t see myself visiting again anytime soon because I don’t live close by and need to save up. Stay safe out there.
I absolutely love your show. I love the way you interact and respect each other‘s opinion. You guys need to go to Washington DC and straighten those people out
I really wish the magic kingdom firework show would have focused on the history and legacy of Walt. It would have been great if Mickey would have narrated the show about his old buddy Walt who’s dream came to be because of his brother. My 8 year old said they could have called it once upon a time. ❤️❤️❤️😊
If you feel scared/ at risk, then you have the right to stay home. If someone is healthy and ready to live life, then they have the right to do the things that they love. It’s been almost 2 years and vaccines are widely available. It’s time for life to go on and for everybody to make their own decisions. People are going to live life no matter what, that’s literally human nature. It’s no use to complain about it or judging what people do. Nobody is forcing you to go to Disney world or stand in crowds. Not trying to sound rude or heartless, I did my part for more than a year, I’m just being realistic. Do whatever feels comfortable to you :) that same advice goes for EVERYONE
Thank you for The varied perspectives. For me, Jackie nailed it. I watched the Disney live stream and hated it. It felt so disjointed and frenetic that I turned the sound off several times because it was jangling my nerves. A few days later I watched Craig’s video. I didn’t love it but at least I stopped hating it. I would probably like it more in person. I’m okay with having tons of IP but those featured weren’t necessarily among my favorite, which may be an age thing - I go waaaaay back. I don’t go to the parks often enough to have a strong connection to previous shows (though I recall being really blown away by Happily Ever After). My biggest problem with Harmonious is this: my favorite things to do at all of WDW is (1) Haunted Mansion of course and (2) just walk around the lake at Epcot, dropping in here and there, eating interesting food, and mostly just enjoying the beautiful park. I was there in June and yes, those ugly barges really mess with the good vibes.
I agree with Jackie! I had reservations from the first day you could book a resort and canceled a couple months before the event. I was so sad that we were going to miss it, but we were too scared to go. I watched live streams the morning of and was so relieved that we didn’t go!!!
The bad is Enchantment. I don't find much of the things from the 50th exciting so far, apart from Remy but that wasn't really meant to BE part of the 50th. Watched Enchantment with my family on tv last night. The first time we saw HEA was on TH-cam and we cried. Last night my mom literally asked "is it almost over?" Not one of us liked it. I am looking forward to trying new food and rides when I visit next fall.
I think expectations have a profound effect on how you experience anything. I waited 25 years for my first visit and I can't tell you how excited I was just to be there. It was the 25th celebration. I've only been able to go 4 times and due to my age and finances I probably won't be able to go again. Please keep in mind that you are my only connection to the parks now. I appreciate all you do. Craig, keep bringing us beautiful videos, I depend on them. Thank you all for bringing me a Disney experience.
It was a weird celebration. I arrived there at 6:30 thinking we would be (resort guest) let in early before everyone else. But people were already in! It was packed! Everyone was at the hub, at that time the characters were there, nothing was happening, they were waiting for some sort of queue, later I found out it was for Live TV. After waiting and nothing happening my friend and i hit the rides. We were able to do pretty much every ride before noon. At noon I was tired I needed coffee, the line for Joffrey’s coffee was crazy long! Not to mentioned lines for popcorn and merchandise, which I didn’t really care. I was under the impression it would be more exciting, nothing from the everyday visit. I was there from Sept 30th till Oct 4 and the lines for rides were short wait. I was able to do ROTR 3 times and 4 times for Flight of Passage. Both less than 30 min, but sometimes it was shorter. Also mobile ordering was crazy, not to mentioned the Wifi didn’t work at all. It was crazy to see ho much food was wasted at Pecos, orders were coming out but people were not getting notifications. People waiting for food and never receiving a notification. After 25 min waiting for food,a cast member directed me to a Supervisor, I didn’t ask she noticed that people had been standing for a while. Supervisor went to the back and prepared my order. This is not exaggeration the counter was covered in food that one ever claimed and they were getting ready to trow away. It was very sad .
We were there for the 50th. I wish they had put some of the rarer characters into the calvacades. Maybe they will switch them out in the next 18 months. Enchantment was ok for me. I want to see it again live before I pass judgement. I liked Harmonious but we watched from a limited view. Loved Remy and can't wait for other attractions to open! We will be back in 2022. I always look forward to Off the Rails. Great job!❤
Sincere comment here: the reason the Animal Kingdom water theatre seems so cursed is basic physics. It’s like they never learned from the old failed Seven Seas Lagoon wave machine. If you put water and air into a bowl, then introduce objects that displace it, those displacement waves are going to reverberate off the sides and cause problems. This isn’t rocket science. But it is fluid dynamics.
Bottom line is the shows left the people part and the park out of its own celebration. I go back to Epcot’s Illuminations! That meant something to the park, as Deni put it, the topper to your park visit. The shows should have been geared to the park and people who made the last 50 years happen. One other thing I don’t know who is handling the livestream camera but they should talk and get some guidance. They have a swing boom and they think they have to use it! Thanks guys great show!
If Craig “the killer of the magic” didn’t lose his media pass previously. Not liking a firework show ain’t going to do it. And where are the vlogs with you and AJ?! Seriously
I used to be the biggest Disney park fan but everything that has happened recently is giving me a bad feeling. The Spider-Man ride made in universal 22 years ago is more technological advances creative and innovative than the one Disney made this year. The rataouille ride was a copy and paste they could have added one more scene with physical sets. Minnie and Mickey runaway railway is mostly screens. Universal did an all animatronic ride with life of pets. The restaurant space 220 was extremely mediocre. As a major fan for years it’s sad how they priorizad have changed to making cheap mediocre entertainment but Disney fans still praise them for doing not even the minim. It’s very frustrating and sad to se happening.
@@asudevil316 You obviously have your rose colored Disney glasses on lol. I agree with basically everything she said. Even as a Disney fan, you should at the least acknowledge that Spiderman in IOA is leagues better than Webslingers lol. And 22 years older. Will be very interesting these next few years to see Universal expanding Harry Potter, creating a whole new theme park, and adding in Mario, Pokemon, and Donkey Kong.
@@asudevil316 so a story about Spider-robots that were completely made up for the ride is better? The whole ride is screens with extremely fake looking CGI and no real sets. The ride is a let down and doesn't live up to Spiderman as a property, or Universal's Spiderman ride. You're definitely in the minority on that one. And pretty much everything Universal is doing is exciting. Velocicoaster is incredible and started being built way after Tron (a clone) and finished way before.
@@asudevil316 I guess all the Disney pass holders switching to Universal and recent years of spikes in attendance disagree with you. I'll just take it as you've never actually ridden Spiderman at Universal. It's ok, when you grow up a little, you'll be able to enjoy!
Sheeesh, both of y'all can have your own satisfactions, unsatisfactions and wishes, and rose gold ears for all of you😂 Ya'll had me laughing at the rose gold.
About the vinyl wrap on the monorail…in my office they put vinyl on the walls, the company that did it charged per linear foot. That quickly gets VERY expensive. I have a feeling this is why they cut back with the wrap for the monorail. Why wrap the whole thing if they can get a smaller wrap at each end and still get the message across?
Thank you for mentioning that Harmonious wasn’t supposed to be part of the 50th. I remember when it was announced at D23 and didn’t recall it being part of the 50th, just a new nighttime spectacular. I wonder if they would have had something else planned for Epcot if the pandemic hadn’t happened.
Unfortunately no, it was planned to open Summer 2020. The version planned was to been the largest biggest fireworks with the Fireworks being the stars but now its the barges instead that do the colors.
Craig, I spoke with a CM who said that there was no longer a % park attendance. It was back to full capacity. And Jackie, when I first walked in around 12:00 noon it was overwhelming to see all the people and it was unnerving. As for the fireworks, they opened up the backstage area to try and get around to a side of Main Street to view it. Overall, the 50th celebration left me with a feeling of emptiness- I think since it didn’t incorporate more historic moments. Out of all the merch released so far, The Vault collection really fulfills that missing piece and is the collection I love the most.
First, I was very fortunate to meet Craig, you were so nice, it was such a pleasure. I personally love Harmonious, surprisingly. However, I feel disappointed with Enchanted. Maybe I should give it another chance, but I loved the projections in HEA and feel they're missing along with the emotional attachment with Enchanted.
Love these videos and hearing your opinions and different perspectives. Thank you for all the work you put into these. I think the keyboard warriors are always going to attack. Some people hate to hate. I agreed with Pete on Tuesdays show when he said he wonders what happened to this fanbase. If you go into any of the social media groups the number of people attacking others or responding with such elitist attitudes is just crazy to me. From the videos I seen I love Harmonious more than Enchantment, but let's face it...I am just beyond thrilled to see fireworks in parks at all again. 🥰
I saw Enchantment Oct 1 and Harmonious Oct 2. MK is my fav park. Their FW have always been an emotional end to a park day. And on Oct 1 I was expecting an emotional FW tribute to 50 years of WDW. For me it wasn’t emotional and lacked giving credit to Walt and Mickey. But I don’t know that they were aiming for those things. When I saw it again on Oct 6, I just watched it as a FW show without all the expectation. And while I was very disappointed the first time, I was happily pleased the second time. I think it had to do with my expeditions. It was built up as a “50th anniversary” FW show when I think it’s more just the next FW show at MK. When I saw Harmonious on Oct 2, I went in with no expectation and saw it straight on from Showcase Plaza. All effects were working. Those around (including myself) were singing along and dancing. It had more of a party feel and I actually loved it! So, all in all, I think my love (or not) of the new shows were mostly based on what I was expecting. If you just go into them and enjoy them for what they are (making sure to have direct viewing), I think they’re both very nice. Do I now love Enchantment as much as Happily Ever After? No. Not even close. But maybe it’ll grow on me. And after all these years of magic, I’m willing to give Disney the chance. 🐭❤️
Great show & you all had great off the rails opinions! I absolutely felt disappointed in Harmonious after watching Disney Park livestream (Craig’s is much better). I’m going to have to listen to the music more to see if I like it more because I, like Deni, am used to Epcot show being more about the essence of Epcot. Jackie’s right about Disney Parks livestreams! 😂 Ryno’s end thoughts got me to thinking about who’s in charge of Disney now 😣 & I hope things will be better than I imagine them to be 18 mo. from now. 🤞🏻
I enjoy this panel so very much! Always enjoy the time allowed to hear each opinion on the panel (even if someone disagrees). I , too, asked myself where is the rest of the sticker or wrap on the monorails? Honestly, what is up with that? Yikes. I’m not an Enchantment fan. I would have liked to have seen a new section added to HEA and projections down Main St. for the entire show. I’m sure fans would have complained because that’s what we do, but I think it still would have been better than what we got.. Love Deni’s take on HarmonioUS. I couldn’t agree more. The barges being out there all day, even with the fountains on (which doesn’t help, imo), is not worth the nightly performance.
Thank you Jackie for acknowledging that there is still a pandemic and many people like me are very put off by the huge crowds Disney continues to cram into their parks. My entire family cancelled our trip that we had planned almost a year ago for this week because of the high covid numbers in Florida and the seemingly disregard for the pandemic by Disney. We have children in our party that cannot get vaccinated yet and we can't risk it. Just the thought of being in the Haunted Mansion stretching room with dozens of other guests is enough to make me faint. The elbow to elbow shoppers yelling at each other over merchandise in the Emporium was the icing on the covid cake.
I gotta agree, Craigs video of HarmonioUS was 10000x better than Disney's stream. Cant wait to see it in person, now! Thanks for the great chat, everybody.
Disneylands 50th fireworks were so much better! Julie Andrews was the narrator, speaking about Walt Disney and his dream 50 years ago. Enchantment is disappointing, no mention of Walt or 50 years. Nothing about the show tugged at my heart. Mainstreet did look cool lighting up, that is about it!
I know I have posted this in other places but someone did a tiktok of a reimagined first 3 minutes of Enchantment and if that had been for real I believe many people would not have been so upset. Other than still having to improve on tinker bells flight the show IMO would have been much better. That 3 minutes of the reimagined show gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. Just a few small changes and I think they could be on to something better.
I am one of the few that actually enjoyed the Disney Parks live stream of Harmonious, however, I also enjoyed Craig's video. Disney Parks gave close-up views of some of the projections. My poor eyesight prevents me from seeing projects well, so I liked that part. I liked Craig's video because it gave the type of unchanging view that one would have if one was actually seeing it live. I look forward to seeing both fireworks shows live so I can get the real feel for the shows. I wonder if Craig's first impression of Harmonious was because he was seeing it more through the lens of his camera rather than just viewing it? The crowd level at MK was exactly why we left WDW several days before. It was busy enough on the 27th. Jackie is right; covid is not over. Obviously none of the Dis peeps have stood on main street to cheer on runners in a marathon and not been there as the sun rose over the castle.
I had a great day there on Oct 1st. I watched the first new Mickey cavalcade from the start in Frontierland. Although it was good to see, I would have loved a special cavalcade with 50 or more characters. They could have even done it more than once that day instead of the standard cavalcades. I got to see something similar when I was at Disneyland for their 59th birthday and it was so memorable. Just a little something, a little extra special, for that day only would have been nice.
I was so disappointed with enchanted ☹️… no flow to it at all , just left me “ blah” …. Happily ever after had only been around a short time and was wonderful …bad move!
Wow there is all the feels about this celebration. As for the fireworks shows- watching from home I liked Harmonious much more than Enchanted- but I'm keeping my mind open until I experience both in person. Watching most footage is like watching the band on halftime shows when they keep zooming in on a player and you can't see what all is happening. Craig's footage was much better in this regard. Part of it too is just the emotional attachment when you're standing in the park, surrounded by all things disney. As for the MK celebration-- yeah I'm on the side of wishing they'd be more park and people focused, more history focused rather than all the IP we can shove in. BUT- I'm thinking the observation we've all made over the years plays into the difference here- WDW is geared towards the vistor who is coming for their once in a lifetime trip, who know the brand through the current IP, not the folks who are coming to the parks for the parks and know the history of the parks. I think that is where they are starting to jump the shark so to speak with WDW- it's still great, but getting dull and less unique in someways because of this approach. So I'm not shocked at how things went for MK celebration. It's also kinda telling and interesting the interest in the merch- especially the vintage things- not just the people who are resale on ebay types, but the nostalgia - the memories it invokes. Yes, we love the the IP but we love the creation and the magic of the parks. The sooner they bring that back up a notch in what they're doing, the happier people will be. Geez, I have opinions. :) I should blog about them.
I think harmonious is going to be one of those shows that becomes a fan favorite over time! With the technology of the barges and projections it will be very cool to see how the show evolves and updates. It has so much potential!
Just curious, Craig how would you have felt if you were there just as a regular guest? Not as a part of the Dis and not with what you have got experience as part of the Dis? Would your feelings about the 50th stay the same? Would you have even gone? I am curious how the other would feel and respond as well cause it makes a difference I think. Would be an interesting topic for the show.
I’ll give a short answer. The 40th was before I worked for the DIS. I was there that night after I got off work for fireworks and rides. Everyone hoped for something special, but the only thing that happened was Wishes with perimeter fireworks and the general consensus was “that’s it?” And then reflecting later it was, “Okay, maybe they’ll do more for the 50th.” Now I’m sitting here saying, “Maybe they’ll do more for the 60th.” Really my feelings are, “At what point are we going to realize the 25th was probably the last over the top celebration and it’s more likely that WDW will get more love on the 100th of Disneyland more than it will get on its own 100th birthday.”
@@DISUnlimited Thank you, this bring more clarity to your opinion on everything. Just like how we don't get exclusive tiki mugs, we are the step sisters to Disneyland's Cinderella. Funny that we are Cinderella's castle though.
I saw Craig in multiple locations of MK on 10.1. He was a regular guest. He wasn't getting special treatment. He had to wait like other guests and he had to get in the same queues as other guests. He was a guy in a park he loves giving the public a glimpse of his day for his job. No more, no less.
@@npischel I understand that but that was also after he got to be part of media events the day prior. I was trying to see if that made him jaded at all. I wasn't saying he got special treatment on that day.
We were there on the 1st. Didn't get there till after breakfast. Had a GREAT time, waits were low for the rides. Stores were crazy!!! But we were there for the rides with the kids not the shopping.
I think the thing with Harmonious was that if they were going to include songs and cultures that aren’t already located in World Showcase (which is somewhat fair because there’s so many parts of the world not represented there) then they needed many more smaller, quicker segments. José Carioca/ Saludos Amigos for Brazil and South America, Snow White for Germany, Pinocchio for Italy, heck you could’ve had the opening number of Frozen for some cool Norway-inspired moments. Go all out!! Rescuers Down Under for Australia for pete’s sake lol. It felt like the segments they did have were way too long (save for Coco), and because of that I think it feels even more odd in Epcot.
Unless I have missed the video I would love to hear all four of your opinions on Kite Tails . From the 2 videos I have seen I do not expect it to survive long . So again just wondering the feelings of you 4 and Pete on the show . Is it just not a good show to watch video of or does it also look back in person
I've shared my thoughts about KiteTails during the show this week and in another video. If it has a bunch of accidents that will force it to close, it won't survive long, but the general mood of the crowd during and after the shows I've seen is most people truly love it.
Love this show. Thank you all. I like Enchanted. It feels connected throughout the show through the scenes and music to inspire and pull you in emotionally. Harmonious is very impressive visually, but missed the mark for me with the music and narration, although the singing in different languages was a powerful addition. And as mentioned in the Unplugged show, no, I don't NEED a story in everything at the parks. I think by story people just mean our memories and emotions are tied to the Disney movies and music and parks we love. They've touched us and inspired us. It's nice to end the day acknowledging that. That's what we have experienced from nighttime spectaculars in the past. It's not unreasonable that we should bring those expectations to new ones.
The night time shows our family usually is trying to get as many rides as possible so if the show is not good then we have to wait longer for rides. The really bad thing about the night shows is all the hard work and tons of time people have put into making this come true. One guy said two years of work on it and tons of "I don't like it" . Can we all just take a minute to say what they do like about it. Vision synced up with the music ,or the motion of it. Something that makes them think that there hour of hard work was worth it. Maybe that it would be a great show at MK instead of Epcot. Something for them to take a way from this to make it better working off what they did this time. Thanks for your time
I don't get why people don't like Harmonious. It's pretty great, and a much better show than Enchantment. Not to say I don't like Enchantment, but Harmonious is far and away better in every category. Harmonious does also reflect the park, world show case in particular. The whole thing is about music as a universal language. It's a celebration of peoples of different cultures coming together, which is literally the point of world showcase. The slight meloncoly, hopeful meloncoly, I feel is intentional, that we as a people are not living up to the promise of Epcot and world show case.
@@thehobbsguy with that logic we should just rename Epcot, Studios and Animal Kingdom as Disney World park 2,3 and 4 and just forget about their themes
because it was the 50th anniversary I expected enchantment to bring me to tears and enchantment just didn’t do that. I felt disconnected from it, and maybe part of it was the covers of the songs instead of the original. the projections should have started off with steamboat willie and transitioned into movies throughout the 50 years and end with soul or a current movie to show how far Disney has come and bring together the old and young with nostalgia from their days of Disney. I grew up in the 90s so I have a deeper connection to the Disney classics then younger kids who grew up with frozen. It would have been nice for them to incorporate the movies throughout the years and show the Disney progression. The projections were beautiful and I loved how they incorporated Main Street. I just think we all had such high hopes and it didn’t live up to our expectations
I love this show because Deni tries to be one of the main people who leads a lot of the discussions. She’s the best. The other members are great too. We are going in July of next year. I’m hoping a lot of the 50th events are still going.
Haven't been able to experience Harmonious or any of these shows in person, but I agree with Deni. Harmonious looks beautiful and the effects are impressive, but the tone and theme of the show just feels completely off. Epcot is about the future, innovation, and cultures all coming together. But, the shows main focus is....music? I understand we all connect and come together with music, but when I think Epcot, the theme of music doesn't come to mind lol.
@@asudevil316 Epcot to me, and Deni, isn't about music. Cultures, yes, it's a part of it. Yes we can connect cultures through music, but that still isn't what I believe a show for Epcot should be themed to. When I think of Test Track, Mission Space, Soarin, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, etc., I don't think about music.
@@asudevil316 The future was the Evolvement of Earth through it's creation. Okay well explain what World Discovery section is and whether it connects to Harmonious. Cause Testing speeds on a car, Guardians and Space have nothing to do with Harmonious.
It’s not the same
Shame on Disney. There is no excuse for the lack of appreciation for the cast members.
That's a shame
☺ Thank you for letting us hear Jackie now, and more from Deni.
I fully agree with Jackie - the crowd levels looked INSANE!
Yeah the crowds inside the Emporium was awful.
It was only bad on mainstreet and the hub. The rest of MK on Oct 1st was fine.
I wouldn’t have been comfortable. My youngest isn’t vaccinated and we are still pretty careful so the 50th would have been a no go for me.
This is BY FAR the best DIS show. EVERYONE’S opinion is respected and heard! LOVE the four of you 👏👏👏
Agree! It’s the vibe that made me fall in love with the dis originally years ago
Yes! I know they’re trying more to get this vibe with the Tuesday show, but when it’s a directive and not a natural consequence of relationships, it’s clear to viewers.
A polite four who really like and respect each other.
Completely agree!!!
My favorite and the best crew at the DIS! Thanks for all your hard work guys! 😀👍
Can’t wait to hear Deni’s POV! I didn’t like how she got shut out by Pete on the Tuesday show ☹️
Yeah, Pete was channeling a bit of Shatner on Tuesday.
Totally in agreement. Deni had the experience of an average person as opposed to those who are wined and dined!
Pete is getting to be too much lately, he was moaning how Epcot Forever was the funeral pyre for Epcot, then the new show comes along and he’s like it’s so awesome and we shouldn’t complain
@@mattheww2797 I feel for his travel firm and I hope the Disney $$$ is not changing his opinions.

@@charlenebevilacqua8059 same. OTR is the superior show!!
This show is so much better than the Tuesday show. I'm very hit or miss with the Tuesday show depending on who's there. But we have never missed an Off the Rails.
Gotta be Pete for me to love every second! But I love it either way.
I was totally going to say this! I was not there but saw it vicariously through Justin Scarred and I was just blown away.
I was at Walt Disney World in November of 1971 as a 8.5 year old. 50th is bringing so much nostalgia for me.
So happy Craig rushed this one out! I was so curious about Deni’s point of view on everything.
My favorite Dis panel and my favorite Dis show. You get everyone’s opinions and I respect all of their views. I feel like you get a well rounded take on it all. Thanks Craig for your final comments. Loved that!!!
I saw a lot people say how cool it was to see the sunrise at Magic Kingdom. I bet it was so dream like.
Harmonious didn't become what the Epcot Experience Center presented.
I love that at the end of the official Disney Parks live stream of Harmonious you can hear someone say ‘is that it’ - I think that says it all 🤣🤣
I heard that too - I was like - ope! 👀
Yes covid isn’t over.
For those of us that can only visit every few years, each trip to WDW always feels new. So it is interesting to hear from those of you that live close by and can visit often. Sometimes it is hard to relate to you guys.
I love that Craig is good friends with AJ at DFB and Molly and Chloe at AllEars.
I'm not a fan of the corporate channels..it makes sense why they would be friendly with the Dis crew though. Basically the same category.
Just want to clarify Chloe works for MiceChat not AllEars, but they are just a few of my good friends. We see each other a ton, obviously have quite a bit in common, and we all understand each other because we all do the same thing. It's just natural to be friends.
DFB and allears are the same company lol
Disney has a baseline of competence with their MK nighttime spectacular and I felt like this barely rose above that baseline where Wishes and HEA exceeded it
Also, I’m very bitter that HEA got replaced after a couple years while Fantasmic, a show highlighting Disney’s newest movie-Pocahontas, has not received the update that venue and all of us fans deserve.
Really good analysis of Harmonious from Deni. Was also hoping it would be closer to Illuminations in theme.
They all
had a good time and loved the show. They do not go often though.
They don't know the story of Epcot or cared. The minute the show
ended they ran to see if any rides were open. lol
Love this show! I'm looking forward to experiencing the 50th at WDW. I'm waiting for the live experience before watching the videos.
Liked before watching because I know there will be "discussion" ;)
I absolutely love your show. I love the way you interact and respect each other‘s opinion. You guys need to go to Washington DC and straighten those people out
Another great show guys. You all rock.
I love Jackie to peices
I really wish the magic kingdom firework show would have focused on the history and legacy of Walt. It would have been great if Mickey would have narrated the show about his old buddy Walt who’s dream came to be because of his brother. My 8 year old said they could have called it once upon a time. ❤️❤️❤️😊
@Deni THANK YOU!
Jackie is spot on regarding crowds and pandemic! Nuts nuts nuts
Greatly enjoyed this show! Loved hearing all your opinions and thoughts. Fantastic discussion
I agree with Craig. It would have been much more nagical to celebrate the cast members who have been there since the beginning.
My favorite show on youtube.
Yes! Bringing out 71 cast members would have been great!
Deni...sunrise in the MK is always magical!
@@daniellovesdisney5730 Thanks for the info. Ah, the original sounds nice 😌
They should of run HEA and a special 50th anniversary fireworks special. They did that for Epcot’s 30th after Illuminations
28:44 WOW!!!!!! VERY rare crossover mention of another Disney vlogger - AJ from DFB!!!!!!
@Jackie THANK YOU!
Great show!!!! We were there on the 1st as well... our daughter's birthday is on the 1st and it was very special to be there on THE DAY!!!
Harmonious just needed to be what it was featured on The Epcot Experience presentation screen.🙈😂💫
LMAO at Deni dancing at 2:05
No to Enchantment for me. I loved Happily Ever After from the first time I saw it.
Moral of the story regarding the online celebration… Disney needs to poach Craig from The Dis. 😁
they can have him.
🤣🤣🤣. I love Craig’s snarky comments although I usually agree with Jackie. His video of Harmonious was so much better than Disney’s.
wasn't Tron supposed to be open by Oct 1st? But it's delayed?
I'm with you Jackie...the huge crowds were cringy for me too. I'm hoping the crowds are low mid January.I'll be masking inside and outside
Just a song message that represented Epcot or one song that was unique to Epcot that encompassed for the whole show.
I love the Pumpkick poster
The night time shows our family usually is trying to get as many rides as possible so if the show is not good then we have to wait longer for rides. The really bad thing about the night shows is all the hard work and tons of time people have put into making this come true. One guy said two years of work on it and tons of "I don't like it" . Can we all just take a minute to say what they do like about it. Vision synced up with the music ,or the motion of it. Something that makes them think that there hour of hard work was worth it. Maybe that it would be a great show at MK instead of Epcot. Something for them to take a way from this to make it better working off what they did this time. Thanks for your time
LOVE Craig's Regal Eagle tshirt!
I love the party going on at the top of TOT.
Where has Fiasco been???
He is recovering from having a collapsed lung.
@@ck2d oh no! was he in a car accident or something?

I don't get why people don't like Harmonious. It's pretty great, and a much better show than Enchantment. Not to say I don't like Enchantment, but Harmonious is far and away better in every category. Harmonious does also reflect the park, world show case in particular. The whole thing is about music as a universal language. It's a celebration of peoples of different cultures coming together, which is literally the point of world showcase. The slight meloncoly, hopeful meloncoly, I feel is intentional, that we as a people are not living up to the promise of Epcot and world show case.
@@mattheww2797 I mean, it's a show, and it happens at Epcot.
@@thehobbsguy with that logic we should just rename Epcot, Studios and Animal Kingdom as Disney World park 2,3 and 4 and just forget about their themes
@@mattheww2797 I was just being sarcastic, but yeah Epcot is in fact going through a major transition right now, and I think Harmonious reflects that.
@@thehobbsguy Which is weird because they brought the front of the park back to 1982
because it was the 50th anniversary I expected enchantment to bring me to tears and enchantment just didn’t do that.
Love the show.
Agree with you Jackie. Didn’t want to go with those crowds.
@@asudevil316 cultures is only one aspect of what Epcot is to me. And I don't think music as the theme is the only way of capturing that.
@@asudevil316 Epcot to me, and Deni, isn't about music. Cultures, yes, it's a part of it.
