You mention Davis' numbers in the last half of the season, but that makes me question how quick that Todd Bowles defense was getting to the QB, and how long he was asked to cover. Are his numbers scheme dependent? Do we have the personal to get that sort of heat?
It sounds like the dude has the potential to be a solid CB1 but has some injury issues and maybe some focus issues from time to time. I think the hope is that a change of scenery and joining the locker room/coaching staff in Detroit might push the dude to realize his lockdown potential (something he has shown he is capable of). I assume we still draft a CB to develop but the risk/reward with Davis is good imo. Anybody saying this is a “terrible” move is just being negative SOL fans. We needed help at CB and barring crazy money deals this is exactly the type of deal we are looking for. Only time will tell if it works out or not. But to claim its a bad move already is just ignorant.
It feels so nice to have our team in competent hands. Most off-season's I'm scratching my head wondering wtf we're doing. High# but we still have plenty of money
The best trade Brad Holmes made as GM was trading 6th overall for the 12th and 34th selection becoming Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta. That's the best trade because Bijan Robinson was on the board at 6th.
I don’t like to talk about Bijan when the Gibbs pick comes up though, cause honestly Bijan just wasn’t used right his rookie year cause his coach sucked ass. He might have actually been neck and neck with Gibbs if circumstances were different. I’m happy we have Gibbs over him tho, for sure.

Carlton is like glue in single coverage. Few receivers ever shake him. Makes the opposing QB have to check down often times. Great trade Lions. Two Thumbs up.
If true then go IOL in the 1st round draft to replace Jackson. They got a DE and CB to stem the gap Troy Fautanu Graham Barton Jordan Morgan Trade up for Jackson Powers-Johnson from Oregon?

@@STG31 Ya but last year Davis regressed majorly. he's not a cb1. he tackles poorly, is not good against the run, and is often injured. his strength is man-to-man coverage, which means he could be used only in long yardage situations.
Trash pick up dudes on the decline and can't stay healthy. In Brad I don't trust. Brad loves geriatric injured players his method hasn't gotten to a Superbowl or to win a Superbowl once that happen I'll be a believer.
If he stays healthy he would be a big improvement at cb especially since he would kick out Vildor from the starting rotation
Yo, btw, that Craig Reynolds block of the year was against Carlton Davis. 😂 He knows what we are about in the D.
That reminds me of Follett laying out Amendola who came to play for the Lions later too.
With how good Brad Holmes drafts any trade where we GAIN draft picks is a win.

They need to draft a starting guard now and draft in round 2 a CB or DE

Betts can play d line and he s a great rusher. I really cant wait to see what he does.

Absolutely glowing endorsement from the guy from Tampa. Smh. Just what we needed.
Buc fans loved the CB we got. He will stock up on DTs and Edge
Comment what you grade this trade for the Detroit Lions.
I give it a C. 3rd is too much for another CB2. Missed a bunch of games last few years, poor tackler, average ball skills. Another Sutton.
@@nathanhale2497 The way Holmes trades down he may pick up another 3rd.
Holmes is pretty shrewd managing this team in the draft order.

Bijan is still the better back but the Lions got 2000 yards and 20 TDs out of that one pick in year one. I couldn't have predicted that.

Brad the master gm
Good trade. Him, EMann, Sutton, and a rookie or 2 would be solid
I’m not crazy about using a 3rd round pick on an expensive rental. Then again, he might not even be worth re-signing, so wait and see how he performs.
He will make Sutton better and buy more time for the Blitz! We all know he is used to buying time for the blitz playing for Bowles.
