"the dude with the Crazy Cats Eyes shirt from JMR" I actually tweeted about someone with merch from the Thunderbolts in Minnesota and JMR retweeted it today.
Detroit a city of tumultuous history and greatness all in one. A truly great time, wonderful architecture, great people, and overall the happiest I've been in a long time. Shoutout to all the lions fans I met who treated me like a friend despite my packer blood.
@@Skruvvy it funny everybody who thinks this about Detroit, switch up after they visit the city. there's a reason why Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson both still live in Detroit.
The Grand Prix returning to Detroit for the first time since ‘91…coincidentally the last season the Lions won a playoff game? Just another sign of good things to come. Go Lions!
As the 54 year old Lions fan recipient of the birthday greeting at 2:30, all I can say is thank you. My son surprised me with it on Saturday, and it made the celebration one for the ages. I don't even mind the "Go Pack Go!" part. Thanks again, both for the greeting and the work for St.Jude's. Which, not so by the way, started right here in Motown, in a Catholic parish where a struggling Danny Thomas made a fateful promise before he became a TV star.
Detroit holds a special place in my family’s heart, even though none of us have ever been there. My dad’s uncle played for the Lions back in the 1930s. Even won a couple of championships! Uncle Jack and Dad were very close - they talked football and farming and life. One summer in the 70s, Uncle Jack even had some of his old teammates out to Utah for a visit and Dad got to meet so many awesome old school players when he was a boy. Dad has cheered for Detroit his whole life. It’s on my bucket list of places to go, if only to see a Lions game in person (my dad and my brother drove down to Arizona a few years ago when the Lions were playing the Cardinals, which is still a bit of a trek). It did my heart good to see Detroit treat you well, Tom. And I’m so happy the city seems to be having a renaissance of sorts. It’s been a rough go, but they deserve good things.
Is that the Atheneum in Greektown? Nice place. I’ve stayed there when in Detroit for the techno festival and I too was taken aback by the fancy glass block shower and in-room stairs. Being from MN, I was initially frightened and confused by the round toilet, but my more worldly friends talked me down and everything ended up being ok. Also Greektown is a relaxed little neck of the woods right next to the core of it all. Detroit is a legendary city of Such good and hard-working people. It’s been through so much for so long, and stayed strong through it, and they’ve never stopped loving their team, and I respect that so much. I’m a lifelong Vikings fan, but I’d be glad to see the Lions take the division sometime and I’d love to see them win it all. The people of Detroit deserve to watch their team succeed as much as any fanbase in the world does. They’ve earned it.
Truly made me tear up. from the little talk you had to the owner of the greek, to cars going fast in the gp. to even the lions person that let ya in to the stadium. You guys and gals in Detroit showed some class and humbling to are bois. and I guess they win the NFC North division for the 30 in 30. can't wait to see the rest of the journey.

Terrific comeback from the painful struggles navigating Chicago, Illinois. Very nice of Patrick the Uber driver for the donation; W for him. A second W for the Lions organization being understanding enough for Tom and his team of friends to get some footage inside Ford Field. Super awesome for a Grand Prix race event to be happening in downtown Detroit for you to witness a practice runthrough. A third W for that. Lastly, a 4th W for the nice individuals with pleasant behavior whom have been involved in these meetups. I think it's fabulous for Tom to have survived through the cities of the Packers 3 NFC North Division members without animosity or hatred from anyone. It appears enough word of mouth is spreading about this journey so more donations are flowing in. There's no way to deny this: 30 in 30 #4 was another winner of a day. Great work, Tom and crew.
So glad you had such a great visit to our city Tom! People like to give us crap, and it wasn’t always great here, but we’re really coming back! So the positive press was much appreciated in trying to break that stigma around us
The Eagles played in Detroit week 1 last season. I wasn't there, but the fans that I talked to that were there said the city and fans were awesome. I'm hoping they make the playoffs this season.
I’m incredibly proud to have spent the last several years in the construction industry working on a lot of buildings downtown, new and old, and getting to see my city come back to life in real time. Super glad you had a great time here. My wife and I wanted to come out, but there was some business at home that required our full attention. Keep doing great things 🤘
Glad Detroit was so good to you. And cool you got to see the cars out on track I went to the race and it was a good one. You definitely should go see an IndyCar race some time
I grew up in Cleveland and Detroit. Detroit and Michigan in general is my favorite place I can be. I really hope you enjoyed the places I grew up with. I hope you get to see a hockey game in Detroit. It still is hockey town. They have the best percentage for showing up with a tanking team.
I'm so sad..... I was in Greek as this was happening, and didn't know what was going on! I should have investigated. Hopefully Tom will join us again for our super bowl parade, and then the draft!

It's so weird to see Tom walking through rooms, streets and buildings I have personally passed through. It is very surreal to see a place you are familiar with on screen.
Not gonna be able to go to any of these due to my school and work schedule, but this is an incredible series so far.
