    It's funny. I think the 2024 Raptor-R is much nicer looking than the previous models. I love the look of the lights and the new graphics. Much neater and more subdued than the previous gen. The Raptor-R will have more power and more options to make it the best Raptor to date. I'm debating on either shelter green or avalanche white.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad

      I’m partial to the avalanche grey. Loved the color but always looked white in pictures. The new shelter green looked good in the videos.

    I was at Ford Fest for the reveal of the Raptor. I very much so prefer the looks of the gen 2. But I do have to say that the new look of the head lights and tail lights do look better in person on the new Raptor. Still, I am not giving up my gen 2.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad

      A lot of people said that about the gen3 setup when it first came out and it never grew on me.

    • @CzWill
      @CzWill ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d pick a Gen 1 over a 2. I never liked the look of it. It always looks very nosey up front. It was a very pointy design from Ford. I dig the softer styling on the Gen3. That being said looks are always subjective.

      I agree on Gen 2 best looking, if it just weren't for that 3.5 with crappy valvetrain (cam phasers). I am hearing that over 70% of 3.5's from that generation are affected now? Which really means ALL of them are, they all just haven't been affected YET....

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad

      Yeah, I don’t anyone that’s had avoided it. But at least it don’t disable the truck like the issues Toyota is having on their TTv6. Also the R is too expensive + the markups so our only v8 option is a used gen1

    I have a few question, if you will: Do you know what the max weight capacity is for this new split tailgate when it is opened and laying flat like the traditional tailgate with the pullout step? Is it similar, much less, how much? I'm a big guy, and I want to be able to stand on whichever tailgate I get with my new truck in 2024. I'm concerned that standing on that split door when it's closed and flat may not support me or may be more prone to damage. For that matter, do you know what the weight capacity is when laying flat for the traditional tailgate and for that pull out step? Thanks. Good review. Oh, and do you think that new dual live valve setup will make the Raptor 37 even more buttery smooth driving on the highway than it was before? Do you think it might help the 37 drive as buttery smooth on the highways as the 35? That would be something. I agree with your headlight comments. Don't like em at all. Big tough trucks with dainty little headlights. That's the impression I get. Should go back to big halogens. And did I hear you right, can we get the Powerboost hybrid and the 7.5kw set up with the Tremor in 2024, not just the Platinum? Wow, that would be nice.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s a good question. I don’t think it’s rated less. There is still a frame going along the bottom of the tailgate that I’m sure its triangled inside of the left and right side. There is no reason to suspect it would have a record capacity. But I honestly don’t know for sure and ford has not published any details on the tailgate weight capabilities

      IMO it’s a huge disappointment to see it gone. It was removed to clear the v8 and Ford took it completely off the whole platform and replaced is with ABS / traction control programming. It really sucks. Won’t affect t high speed off-roading, but on the slow stuff when you need to crawl over something it’s going to suck waiting for the ABS system to catch up or it cuts power

    All we really wanna know, how much horse power does it have, and how much does it cost. These days every truck has these features, the only thing that will actually will attract buyers, is they won’t be embarrassed spending 90K on a V6, and getting your ass kicked on the highway by a TRX. No one’s gonna see you go off road. I’m really harsh on Ford, because they just don’t listen, and that’s a mistake, because people have options, I don’t believe their bullshit anymore!

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Price is live man. And the HP bump will be minimal so it won’t matter honestly.
      As for the rest, people that buy ecoboost raptors don’t buy them to “race” on pavement. They buy them to offroad. And offroad lighter is better. And the v6 outperforms the TRX offroad. I have videos of it on this channel showing how the TRX is barely on par with the gen2 raptor with the leaf sprung back end. The new Gen3 with dual live valves has the potential to really be something else offroad. And guys taking these offroad don’t care if they are seen or not. It’s not about the flash.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad the people that bought the original Gen. 1 Raptors, particularly bought the truck because it had more horsepower, and better sound than any other truck on the market. That being said, what solace doe those original fans have now, a dumbed Dow version of it, for twice as much money. The original team that worked on the first Raptors, has long since dis banded, and replaced by a bunch of corporate butt holes, that know nothing! The prices are also insane! I’m not not spending 90K on a truck so I can jump over a mud hole, I’m gonna use it as a daily, and I want it to impress me daily, with a V8, just like the good old days!

      🤣🤣 look man. It’s obvious your clueless here on what Raptors can do. I own a Gen1 and invested heavily into for as you say “jumping mud holes” 🤣🤣. Easily a $100k truck at this point. And the guys that spend money for proper prerunners are spending $150-500k to have those trucks builds.
      Every generations has been an improvement in performance offroad from the previous one. gen1 is great and still my choice for a rig to upgrade. But it was far from perfect. Frames were bending and the V8 was the epitome of a lazy v8 barely making 400hp.
      Gen2 had more power, was lighter, and improved on strength and performance. Stock for stock Gen2s way outperform the Gen1. Now the Gen 3 is an ugly truck for sure, but it’s making mid travel suspension numbers from a stock truck. It’s keeping up with mid travel trucks and in terms of performance it’s better than any v8 trucks offroad. Including the R.
      Now the cost is high on these trucks for sure. Ford prices are ridiculous, but some people that buy raptors, buy them to offroad them. Because they know the truck can take it.
      The V8 argument has too many holes in it because the main benefit is noise and that’s it. The v6 is making more power and it’s faster and better balanced than the 6.2. Gen1 is nose heavy and harder to control offroad than the gen2 or Gen3s. AND These trucks are not made for street racing. Who in their right mind puts heavy ass 35s and 37s to race. You need a street truck for that and the Raptor is definitely not for you.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoadeveryone’s entitled to spend their money as they please, I bought my first Raptor because it was a good drag racer, and could easily get around in the winter, I could enjoy it all year long as a daily, that was fun to drive. I just didn’t like the V6 as much, as I bought a 2018, then decided to buy a 2020, witch was even worse, as they seemed to detune the transmission and the truck was apparently slower, horsepower is only as good as the set up, so being I bought a 90K truck, that wasn’t thrilling me, I went to the Ram for the same money, imagine that, 250 more horsepower for the same money! I realize now, both trucks have gone up in price since then by a lot, and particularly the Raptor R is unattainable for just about anyone, Ford is out touch with the average off roader, they are mostly common people, working class guys, who are not gonna spend a small fortune so they can go off road, some do, but very few. They promised to answer the call with the Raptor R, and that’s a joke due to availability, and the insane price point, out of touch indeed! 🤣

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your math is off man. gen2, even the 2020 topped out in the 70s low 80s. I had a 17 and a 20 both fully loaded and never paid that much for them. I agree with you that the 19-20s were pos. I have a whole video series on all the issues my 2020 had.
      But even with the price increase for the 2023, it was still an $80k truck fully loaded, 67k for the cheap trim. A TRX started in the mid 70s and fully loaded was 90s to 100k before markups. So you were still paying a premium for it and despite the extra power, offroad it was only as good as a Gen2.
      But I digress, the real argument here is 10 years ago a Gen1 raptor topped out in the high 50s low 60s. Today they top out I’m the $110l range. DOUBLE, and we definitely don’t have double the truck. Building a gen1 for the same amount gives you a better truck that’s way more reliable than any new truck including the Gen3 and the TRX.

      It was actually a matter of space. The 8.8 diff is plenty strong. It’s in the back of all mustangs handling 400hp+. It was removed to make space for the big v8. The torsion diff is slightly bigger and would not clear the engine. So as a cost cutting measure, it was removed from the whole platform. For high speed off-roading, it won’t make a difference. But when you need to crawl the truck over a rock or something it’s going to have problems. I guess they figured raptor guys don’t do much of that.
